Better to book a smaller / private tour

Sort of disorganized. Headsets did not work well. Guide was lovely but difficult to understand for most of the group. It would be better to do a private tour with 6 people and have more time for specific questions. We passed phenomenal sites with barely a mention of its significant. Thank goodness for Google Lens…

Horrible experience

The tour was not worth the money. Directions to meet the tour was not clear, long walk in extreme heat. Two people could not complete the walk and tour due to the distance to walk and the heat. Refused to give credit for 2 tickets. Don’t waste your time or money.

Good but overpriced

The tour itself was good with a small group of 6 and a pleasant guide although we passed by a few room exhibits. The wait was an issue as my appointment time was bumped an hour and then I was passed from one guide to another about 3 times I think. Was bummed to see the other couples paid $40-80 for their ticket and mine was $180 🤔

In my travels to Italy I have booked several trips with Viator. I have been impressed with the proactive outreach and communication. Your firm is very organized and I appreciate that very much. I also appreciated how kind and knowledgeable our tour guide was for the Vatican tour. I know that he worked hard to share information with us, unfortunately his local dialect was so pronounced that we, along with many members our tour were not able to understand much of what I am sure was very insightful historical knowledge. If we come back to Rome, we'll likely need to do the tour again with someone else to learn what our guide wanted to share.

Walk, wait, stand- move…

Guide arrived 25mins late (due to traffic) as the 32 people waiting (small group?) we were told to be there 15 mins early… not the best start. Tour was ok but tons of walking - why do guides insist on talking to the group while the group is stood for 20mins? Please let people sit before you talk for any length of time. Tour itself was good but only 10 mins in Sistine Chapel- we were herded like sheep… not the best experience to be fair.

Skipping the line was awesome as it was 100 degrees outside and extremely packed with visitors. Our guide Paolo, was extremely knowledgeable, humorous, and really tried to fit in all that he could into the time that we had. We did feel a little rushed, because any time we wanted to stop and take pictures, we had to try to find and catch up with the group. (One of our ear pieces also died about halfway through the tour so I missed a lot of what Paolo was saying.) Overall, we were happy with the tour, especially how quickly we got in, but we would have liked to not have felt so rushed :)

Best way to experience the Vatican during a very busy season. The entrance into the museum itself can be a little hectic but trust your guide. They know what they are doing.
