I very much enjoyed this experience. Guido was an excellent instructor and it was nice to go out into the parks to sketch different views. The “lessons” started basic to prepare us for more opportunities using various methods. The lesson on perspective was very helpful.

The sketching session with Guido was awesome. He is very personable and easy to talk to. Villa Borghese is also the perfect setting. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Rome and wants to experience something a little different than the usual touristy things.

Highly recommend, my sister and I enjoyed such a wonderful afternoon in Villa Borghese. Guido is so knowledgeable, welcoming, humorous, and kind - we learned not only sketching techniques but also some history of the gardens. My sister and I both wanted to take an art class during our time in Rome, and this tour’s description piqued our interest for the location and subject - the actual experience exceeded our expectations. Guido is a personable Art Instructor, with a variety of techniques to help you improve your artwork. I was the only student that day, and he was flexible about satisfying my requests. He tells amusing stories, and in-between sketching, we laughed about the multitude of dog’s antics in the park. It was both a relaxing, and productive time, spent on my vacation! 🎨

I sketched! I painted! I made a beautiful work of art, that I'll frame and put on wall, because I'm so proud of it. I'm not sure how Leon taught me during the first half, then we spent the last half using what we learned, as Leon gently coached us one in a while I will use the lessons he taught, and materials he gifted, to keep sketching!

Guido provided 3 different experiences. The first was to study a subject intently and sketch with a fountain pen, then add colored pencil. We continued our walk in the gardens to the second subject. The exercise was to draw a fountain without looking at the paper and then turn the paper over and draw the fountain by looking only at the paper (and not the fountain), using oil pastels and lastly we drew a villa very very fast with pen and then equally as quickly painted with watercolor. the 3 experinces built upon each other. So fun - the lesson was to study the world around us and be free to create. Guido was a delight. The experience exceeded my expectation.
