Waited over an hour (well past tour start time) in the heat, smashed in a packed crowd and ultimately never made it into Vatican City. Understand the crowds due to Jubilee however the tour operator could (and should) have modified plans accordingly. We ended up leaving because my daughter was not feeling well due to the heat. I requested a refund (even partial would have been nice) but received no response from the tour operator. I would not recommend this tour.

Wonderful! Claudio, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. He is smart and made it so we didn’t have to wait in lines. He knows the history of the basilica like the back of his hand. We visited on the Monday, April 28, 2025 just after Pope Frances’ funeral and just before the conclave. Our trip had been planned long before the Pope Frances events occurred. Our guide Federico was superb. He guided us through what proved to be NOT ridiculously large crowds and pointed out points of interest specifically related to the funeral and the upcoming conclave. His knowledge of history, art, culture and current events was impressive. He was personable and provided helpful information for maneuvering up the stairs of the basilica to view the square. We have been on many guided tours and this one did not disappoint!
