Left us at Rome airport

Terrible. They say they arrived when the plane landed and gave us exactly 60 minutes then left. They are based in Rome and should know. Large planes take time to unload. You have to get on a shuttle to the main immigration, lines for visitors was insane with many planes flying in at once. New immigration details and then pick up bags. We were about 10 minutes over time and they left. I called and texted. They knew we were in the airport. I got some from company and they told us to call Viator to reschedule another pickup. We called UBER. 5 minutes and 20% cheaper. We will use Viator but not for airport pickup.

Please note that our waiting time is 60 minutes for Airport pick ups, and in case no special pick up time (buffer time) is requested, the driver will track the flight and wait the 60 minutes guaranteed since then. We are not able to guarantee extra waiting time as it will depends in the driver's availibity. We regret the lack of service but the 10 min delayed informed was not inside the waiting time guaranteed and a driver was assigned as per your booking's information. For an extensive investigation, please provide us with your booking ID.

Horrible Rome Airport Transfer

If Viator uses MyTransfers in Rome, DO NOT BOOK THIS. The driver did not show, Viator pushed me to MyTransfers for support, they were not helpful at all and at the last minute I was stuck looking for new ground transportation after a long international flight. I will use other services in the future for ground transportation, this was very disappointing.

Could not get the right hotel address

Make sure the driver has the correct address. Company gave the wrong address when they confirmed and I gave them the correct address several times but they never changed it. The driver did what he could and eventually got us to our hotel

No show, waited over an hour. No response to calls or messages to provider. Next day provider said the informed Viator they would be unable to make the pickup. I have applied fir a refund from Viator, but I imagine it will be a fight like last time we used Viator in Hawaii. You would think I would learn my lesson.

Booked this pick for me and my family, a day before arrival, I messaged on the Viator app and the number to contact the company, to let them know that our flight will be delayed and will arrive 2 hours later than originally planned, I did not get any response from the Viator app, their chat link and staff kept saying that their driver monitor’s the flight and that there should be no problem, I spoke to 3 different people with this company and said they will update the driver, on the day of our arrival, thanks to wifi, I get a message from the driver that he is outside the terminal, I messaged him that we are still on the air and that should be arriving about 2 and a half hours, He said he cannot wait and for me to contact the company, I told him that I did the previous day and that I was told that they would inform him. He said he has another pick up and to call the company. Though viator refunded my payment, It is still extremely inconvenient and unreliable and defeats the purpose of booking . Very disorganized company

Unreasonable Waiting and Pickup Time

We booked a private airport transport from FCO to Rome Hotels. We were traveling on an international flight that was given to the transport company. We arrived into FCO and had about an 1.5 hour passport line because we had a child under 13. The driver texted the max wait time was 1 hour and was leaving. No refund per the policy. Viator and the transportation carriers should know better. 1 hour waiting from flight landing is barely reasonable for domestic flights. You have to disembark the aircraft, walk through a terminal, baggage claim, find the limo pickup spot. The transportation company really shouldn’t start the clock until 30 minutes after landing or increase their wait time. They ask for flight information and should really be knowledgeable about the airport passport control and customs. I’ve had many car services that know this. I have to say this one almost seems to set you up to fail. Why did I book Viator? I selected to book through Viator for a safe knowledgeable transportation company that was economically priced by paying in advance. I also wanted to ensure I had a black van for the luggage. They failed on the knowledgeable and courtesy side. Black vans are also readily available through Uber. Uber was also nearly the exact same price day of. We got a great Uber driver that was extremely helpful and courteous.

Viator and “My Transfers” - Not reliable or on time

Confirmed car and driver reservation through Viator. They subcontracted with “My Transfers”. Flight time and number provided. Was also given number of driver and subcontractor. Waited for 30 minutes and called driver with no answer, called company and was told “well you’ll need to take a taxi”. Again called driver and he said there was no booking. Finally he found our booking and picked us up after we waited over an hour. Called Viator to file a complaint. Now I’m worried they won’t have a car to get us from the cruise ship back to the airport on-time. Nothing gets better if we don’t share the truth.

No show for hired pick up

Driver did not show to pick us up. I had to call to find out why. Driver had a minor accident, she said driver reported to them however Viator never reached out to us, so we had to get a cab. Ended up being cheaper than the transfer we hired. Viator did fully refund, however they should have reached out to us vs us standing waiting at the airport and then me calling to find out why when no one showed up.

Flight delays and pick up

Unfortunately, our plane was delayed by 2.5 hrs. I informed both vendor & viator of the change. When we landed there was no transportation. Upon contacting vendor and viator they said there would be no car to pick us up. We ended up waiting on line for a taxi. I did put in a complaint and Viator did credit me for it. So, for that reason I will continue to use viator.
