I can’t say enough positive things about this tour. The guide was exceptional, the route, the sites, I’ll even give them credit for the perfect weather. This was the best memory I have made in Roma and highly recommend it to everyone.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime bike ride. There’s nothing like it anywhere in the world. I was mesmerized by the feeling of traveling back in time. Places, mausoleums, walls, aqueducts and the Appian Way itself, plus the gorgeous, lush Roman parks and happy people enjoying the outdoors.. Great, well maintained e-bikes, and a great team of happy guides and support staff. I wish i could give this unforgettable experience six stars.

This tour was fantastic. We had tried in the past to see the appian way by foot and failed- not making it past the catacombs of St Callixtus. The was by far the best way to encompass such a wide area . Our guide was very knowledgeable and plenty of cultural sites. Some of the roads used go through traffic and through narrow bike paths. It is not for the novice bike rider or young children

We’re delighted you enjoyed the tour and finally got to experience the full beauty of the Appian Way! It really is the best way to explore such a wide and fascinating area. Great to hear your guide made the ride engaging with so much history and culture—though yes, it does take a bit of bike confidence to navigate those narrow paths and traffic spots.
Kind Regards,
Simone

Well run tour through parts of a Rome that are harder to get to without getting into a cab or taking a really long walk. Routes are well planned, our tour guide was fantastic, and the ebikes make it accessible for just about anyone that can ride a bike competenly. 100% will take this tour again next time I'm in Rome

This is a unique way to get outside of the city and see other sites of Rome. The e-bikes were easy to use, and you don’t need to ride bikes regularly to use them. The roads and trails were bumpy at times. People with back and neck problems may want to steer clear.

Best way to see Rome!! We would have done more bike tours if we had realized how great it was!! The bikes were easy to use and our guide Arina was fantastic!! Definitely a must do!
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thanks, Laura! Bike tours are the way to go, especially with an awesome guide like Arina!

This was a great way to explore the vast spaces of Rome city. Guide was great and bikes well maintained. I would recommend being a competent bike rider though, as need to navigate some rough and tight areas.

A great, fun way to see the Appian Way and aqueduct park. Phenomenal scenery and great and informative tour guide. We loved it!

Definitely one of the best excursions in Rome . Beautiful scenery, our guide Stefan was very friendly, knowledgeable, he knew a lot of the history and was able to answer all of our questions .

Our guide Zac was kind, knowledgeable and so much fun. This was a great way to experience the Appian Way and Aqueducts. They were fascinating to see and this was a fantastic tour. The bikes are easy to use and require minimal effort, but be prepared that you do ride some in the traffic of Rome!

Loved it! Our bike tour guide Lorenzo was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Rome, the aqueduct system and Appian way. We got caught in a rain storm and everyone was positive and considered it part of our unforgettable experience!

Han was an amazing tour guide! He was super charismatic and friendly. Myself and the other attendees had a fantastic time, and I would highly recommend booking an e-bike tour of the Via Appia Antica.

This was our favorite thing we did in Rome. So beautiful and fun. It was interesting, informative and beautiful. Definitely recommend!
Justin_M, Aug 2024
The e-bike tour was a lot of fun. A lot of great sites along the Appian Way and the Catacombs were very cool. The e-bikes made it an easy ride.
Laurie_T, Aug 2024
Bita was a fabulous guide. She kept a good pace for the riders and explained things well for what we passed. We would have loved more photo op stops since riding the Appian Way was a little nerve wracking to navigate and take pics while riding for some of us! The scenery was beautiful. It really is off road for a large portion. My teenagers thought it was perfect to get away from all the walking of the city.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Thank you so much for your review! The Appian way and its surroundings are quite a view and they become more meaningful with a guide like Bita! We're delighted to hear you and your children enjoyed it!
Best regards,
Francesca

What a fun day we had on a guided tour with Zak. We had a group of 7, including teenagers. We used the e-bikes which we highly recommend. Zak was funny, considerate, and just great guide. We had a blast. One of the teens gave it a 11 out of 10.

This tour was incredible! It was great getting outside the city and crowds to experience Rome in a special way! Our tour guide, Claudia, was very knowledgeable, friendly and engaging! We would have loved spending more time touring the city with her!
Megan_H, Jun 2024
LOVED THIS TOUR. By far our favorite tour in Italy! 2 teenagers and 2 adults who have a short attention span, this tour kept you moving and learning. Also just a beautiful part of Rome a little less traveled.
Donald_S, Jun 2024
We were a bit reticent initially as we aren’t really bikers per se and we wanted to assure that we were not only safe, but that the tour would be physically in our wheelhouse (my wife and I are both 60 and in average shape and trying to keep up with our 22 year old daughter!!)
To wit, the experience was superb! Our guide gave us a quick run down of the equipment, the e-bikes made the trip so much easier, we felt safe and supported, and we were able to access parts of the areas around the city of Rome that we just would not have seen otherwise. We felt comfortable and had a great deal of fun and learned so much.
The Appian way, the catacombs and the aqueduct park were all amazing and it would be difficult to choose a favorite. Our guide, David, was incredibly knowledgeable (encyclopedic, actually) and did a great job leading our group through the city and the countryside from a biking standpoint.
It was great to get out into the area outside of Rome proper, and to learn the history of some
important things just a bit off the usual tours (e,g. Vatican, Colosseum, etc.). It gave us a broader perspective of Rome, and this was one of our favorite tours overall on our trip. We would highly recommend!!

Dear Donald,
thank you for the kind words!
There's no denying it, part of our credit goes to our electric bikes :) it's a pleasure to ride them, especially as the warm weather arrives!
We are happy that you enjoyed the proposed itinerary and the company of our guide. As you probably noticed, our guide's passion for the places we visit shines through!
We thank you again for riding with us and wish you all the best,
Kindest Regards

This is a must. Such a beautiful way to see Rome. It was everything we wanted from seeing the catacombs, appian way, aqueducts, and parks. Our tour guide, Claudia, was fun, informative and kind. The tour size was ideal. My teen son loved every minute of the trip. Everything was well organized. My family will always remember this exhilarating experience.

This E-bike tour was one of our favorite days of our Italy trip. Our tour guide, Fabio, was incredible! His passion for his city and it's fascinating history was very much appreciated. Our day was filled with historic stops, amazing views and I must admit the electric bikes were so fun. Book this tour when visiting Rome, it's a must!
Jeffrey_K, May 2024
Super knowledgeable guide. Explained the many sites along the way and did so in an interesting way.
The ride was through both city and park settings which was safe and fun.
Marissa_R, May 2024
The bike route was nice, however, we rode so slow. We averaged 6mph, which on an e-bike especially, is extremely slow. The tour was from 9am-3pm and not a single bar of battery on my bike was drained. The e-bike motor barely turned on at all, and I had it on turbo all day. I understand there are safety reasons to not bike so fast with a group but at times it was unsafe how slow we were going. Everyone’s tires were 2 feet from the next, and someone had to intentionally fall to force themselves not to hit the person in front of her. It would have been better had we been able to explore the parks on our own once we got there. The paths are so nice in the parks. They allowed us to explore on our own but required us to get off of the bikes. At the catacombs we got there and they put us in the queue for the tour at the park, which included about 100 people. In the catacombs that’s pretty claustrophobic. I recommend renting an e-bike yourself, and skipping this tour.

You absolutely must do this tour if you have more than 1-2 days in Rome. Bike was very easy to use and guide Francesca was friendly and amazing. We got the most picturesque views of the area near the acquaducts and of course saw the catacombs. Do the 6 hour tour. It's worth it.

Ali, was our guide! They provided excellent new bicycles by Cannondale.
Ali, stopped frequently to explain the landmarks and share the details of his historical knowledge of the various sites we passed. This, so far has been a highlight of our trip! Thanks Team top E bike!!
Janet_S, Apr 2024
The tour is wonderful, the bike shop staff were great, and our guide Bita was outstanding. I am giving four stars instead of 5 because we did the tour on a Sunday, and Appian Way and Aquaduct Park were very crowded with local people. Maneuvering around a lot of pedestrians and other bikes was nerve-wracking. I felt I had to be on high alert the entire time, and that detracted from the enjoyment. After the tour a small group of participants went for lunch, and everyone expressed the same feeling. We loved the sights we saw, but felt relieved when it was over. I would highly recommend doing this tour on a weekday. Again, our guide Bita did a fantastic job, and the sights were awesome!

Such a fun day! E-bikes are super easy to use and allowed us to enjoy the ride and the day without much exertion (or you can turn off the assist if you want the exercise). Ancient roads and catacombs, a picnic lunch among the ancient aqueducts, parks and fresh air. Our tour guide Khalid was very knowledgeable and super friendly. My teens loved it, too! This will be a favored memory!
Eileen_A, Sep 2023
I highly recommend this tour. I went on it with my husband, 16 year old and 11 year old and they all really loved it. We had an amazing tour guide who was very informative and ensured we were safe on the roads. The bikes worked really well and were easy to use. There were only 8 people in total in our group so we felt very confident riding together and the had lots of opportunities to engage with our tour guide.
I would pay the extra money, particularly if you are travelling with kids, and use this company. We definitely got what you paid for and we are so grateful that we were able to have this amazing experience.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Thank you for your kind words, Eileen! We fully agree that a small group is the way to go, to make sure everybody can confidently ride together and engage with their guides, which is why we stick to our maximum group size of 10 participants per guide!
Thank you again, and we hope to see you again another time!
