This experience was absolutely amazing. The staff was so kind and helpful throughout the whole mosaic process which provided to me tricky at times. A great deal was explained about the history of mosaic which was very interesting and beneficial to hear before going to the Vatican. Such a unique and fun experience to add to your trip to Rome it was such a highlight.

This was an amazing experience! We did this class after doing the tile mosaic class because we had so much fun! What a great way to learn, create, and go home with a unique and personal souvenir! Our instructor was wonderful and she taught us about the history of micromosaic and did an amazing job in teaching the class to create something unique and special!

This was so much fun and we got some great necklaces out of it. She explained a little bit of the history and process of making mosaics and we got to pick from several necklace or ring shapes to do. They offered us a drink while we worked and helped us if we struggled. I would do it again! And we took the other mosaic (not micro) class from them as well the next day

This could have and should have been an amazing experience. I took this class to make something. The teacher knows her stuff. Explained well. File given to use was so inferior to the one she used- could not do what was shown (hers a true triangle file - mine a rounded triangle diamond file.) I was not allowed to try what I wanted… I would have been happier to simplify my original plan bu changed my plan to fit hers… then she kept coming over and taking over my piece… moving what I was placing… then took over completely. I left with a lopsided unbalanced version of what I was trying to do. I would have rather left with an unfinished piece of my own work than what I left with. My husband was so excited for me and thought I’d want to go back for more. Truely I would have wanted to continue on to take more classes if allowed to do my own work. At over a hundred euros I wouldn’t take the chance to have the same thing happen again. Could have been best experience of a 24 day stay in Rome, sadly was not. The two women there were extremely nice. I will probably chip out what was done and redo it somehow.

Loved meeting the staff, including multiple interns. Starting the mini-mosaics was very fiddly. Be prepared for detailed work and concentration. But after working for a while and getting good pieces to work with, it was enjoyable. Staff were helpful and encouraging. We walked away with beautiful pieces that we're so proud of! Bring your patience and you'll have a great time.

What a wonderful time. The instructor started with a little history and education of mosaics and styles. Loved that! Then we chose our piece shape. Guided us on how to get started and all the mastered walked around and looked, advised and cheered us on as we created. They even treated us with a lovely coffee of our choice from a cafe across the walkway. So special! We loved the class! And the special souvenir, handmade by each of us, made it the most perfect day. Affordable and fun. Could not recommend this class more.

It was very interesting to hear the history of the family for generations and the mosaic they have done in Rome and other ancient cities. I did underestimate that the difficulty of this task but the young ladies there were so helpful helped us do it step-by-step. We're very clear on their instructions and created a beautiful piece of jewelry. Personally, I think once I saw the kind of tiles they made or the kind of mosaic they made with stone if I had to do it again, I would do the stone one first and then do the jewelry one.

I did this experience with my 13 and 14 year old daughters. The studio was beautiful and busy, and learning about the process of doing mosaics and mini-mosaics was so interesting. We had a lovely time with the instructor who even offered us cappuccinos. We made beautiful necklaces and they placed them on high quality chains. The studio is located in an artsy neighborhood with lovely non-touristy restaurants and bistrots. Would recommend to visitors wanting to explore the art of the region.

What a wonderful experience! If this shop offered 1-2 week or month long summer intensives I would be first to sign up! I learned about mosaic arts and explored my creativity with the help of some amazing shop artists. Juliana, who conducted our class, was patient, encouraging and warm. We sipped espresso while carefully placing our glass pieces into the jewerly. We listened to classical music and it was a delightful time! What a lovely way to spend a morning!

First of all, Juliana has a marvelous passion for mosaic and could not have been a more pleasant and welcoming teacher. What a lovely person. Her enthusiasm made my family very comfortable with our obvious lack of experience in micro-mosaic work. I wanted to set up an experience “off the beaten path” in Rome for our family, including our high school-age and college-age boys, to do together. With a few thousand years of tradition behind it, learning mosaic in a shop with generations of experience seemed like a good idea. I was wrong. It was a GREAT idea! We not only enjoyed laughing and tapping into our varying degrees of artistic skills, but learned more about mosaic and its modern day use in restorations and new creations. I loved this experience, and our family now has beautiful (to varying degrees) keepsakes from our time. Highly recommended if you can get in! Worth double the cost.

Sara + Juliana were lovely hosts and terrific teachers. Juliana shared some history of mosaic art and then showed us the special technique we were to use to make our own micro mosaic jewelry. She was there to guide us when needed, but also let us do our thing and be creative. We created our own designs, cut the glass ourselves, and placed the pieces in the silver charm we each chose, which we will wear as a beautiful memento of our trip. The studio is in Monti -- a terrific neighborhood in Rome, with shops, restaurants, and lots of gelato. Well worth the expense!

I didn't even know I wanted to know about mosaics, but these women are THE mosaics restoration experts. They will tell you about how their family has been creating and restoring high profile mosaics for centuries. The class was engaging- and showed us how tricky it really is to create detailed mosaics. The Studio also runs more intensive classes and workshops on stone mosaics which I wish I could take.

If you are an artist, a jewelry maker or a crafter TAKE THIS CLASS! There is a family in Rome that has been handing down the art of mosaics and micromosaics since they worked on the Vatican centuries ago. Creating mosaics. Restoring ancient mosaics. This family runs an art studio where they teach the art to others. And this class is a very introductory lesson. My husband and I took this class. I am an artist. He is not. Not only did we have a GREAT time, but we learned a deep appreciation of this disappearing art form. Our class was private, but two other local students were there working on their own mosaics. So we got to see their work, too, and learn about other mosaic art. And we left with some truly unique and beautiful souvenirs. Giulianna was a fun and patient teacher. This class is totally worth the cost and time and if we return to Rome, I will be returning to the studio to learn more.

This workshop was amazing! Micromosaic is more than art! Juliana was absolutely wonderful, patient and friendly. My daughter 13, her friend 12, her mom and I participated in this workshop. We had so much fun. Our instructor explained the art of mosaics and then explained to us how to work with the glass mosaics. I had a wonderful time and a keepsake! It was worth the time and money. I strongly recommend this workshop to everyone!
