Your tour of Rome's starting point depends on whether you book the Private Walking Tour or the Vespa Tour. If you book the Private Walking Tour, you can meet your guide at Piazza Sant'Appolinaire, while the Vespa Tour option meets at Via in Selci near the Cavour Metro Station.
On the Vespa tour, you'll on your helmet and get on your scooter. On the private walking tour, you'll meet your guide and get started on your exploration. The itineraries can change somewhat depending on the mode of transport, but both focus on seeing Rome through the eyes of a local.
A typical itinerary might have a first stop in the trendy Trastevere neighborhood, continue to nearby highlights such as the Pantheon, Isola Tiberina, and Piazza Navona, and stop at lesser-known spots such as the Piazza della Rotonda and the Palazzo Madama. Overall, pass by more than a dozen of Rome's most beautiful sites.

We did the usual tours of the Vatican and the Colosseum, but this one was our favorite. Our Guide, Simone, was very engaging and super friendly, and taught us a bunch of things we never would’ve learned without him. We saw neighborhoods we never would’ve seen and had food we never would’ve tasted, and it was just such an enjoyable tour.
I highly recommend you do this over anything else you plan to do in Rome. It was well worth the price.

Hard to say. It was quick. Did this on day,of rival. It was particularly helpful because our hotel was in this area and it helped us get our bearings.

My wife and I planned this as our orientation tour for our 8 days in Rome, but things didn't go well. Viator uses subcontractors so our experience may not be your experience.
We arrived at the meeting location on time and our guide did not show. We contacted Viator support through their app (it's very important to have the app) who informed us that our guide was 20 minutes away and would be there shortly. Then we had some messages and calls from our guide, changing the delay from 20 minutes to three hours then to two hours then to one hour.
The guide noted that my phone number was not given to her as part of our reservation and that is why she didn't contact us the night before. We heard this from other guides, so I hope Viator is working on getting the phone numbers to pass through. However, Viator could be wanting everyone to use their app so they can monitor the communications. This is probably a good idea.
The tour itself was interesting but didn't really orient us to the city. Rome can be confusing and this didn't really help us figure it out. However, our guide did point out some interesting restaurants and a place for gelato. Our guide mentioned a few times the the price we paid for the tour was low because we had reserved so many months ahead. This just made us feel like we were an inconvenience to her and that she wanted more money from us.
Overall, the tour checked all the boxes of what was described, but not a great experience. Our other Viator tours in Rome went much better.

Another walking tour in Rome. Another wonderful guide. Simone was friendly, informative and tailored the tour to our tastes, asking what we have already seen and what else we planned to see while in Rome. He gave us little “appetizers” of things we planned to see, stopping often so we could take photos and appreciate the site we were at. We learned a great deal of the history of Rome, from the founding of the city through WWII. We saw many of the layers of Rome as we walked with outstanding views of the city. We’ll worth every euro spent!

Unfortunately, my guide had disdain for Americans, or just me, and berated me for many things. At the end, When I asked her if it was safe for me to walk alone at night, she laughed and said I might even enjoy being attacked. Awful!

This tour was so interesting and different! Our tour guide John was AMAZING! He asked what we had/had not seen and then curtailed this wonderful hidden gem tour on the spot. We definitely saw things that were off the beaten path! Loved every minute of it!

We highly recommend this tour! For those who have already seen the big signts of Rome, but want to get a real taste of the city and see some hidden gems of local life, this is perfect. Simone is full of information about the history of Rome, the local hangouts and seems to know everyone you pass. We also really enjoyed chatting with him. He ajusted the itenerary to meet our interests, and at the end of the tour left us at a local restaurant with wonderful food. One of the best experiences we've had in our travels. Thank you Simone!

We did many guided tours during our Rome trip, but this was walking tour was probably the most special. We saw many new things and heard amazing stories about the history of Rome. My family and I booked the Highlights & Hidden Gems With Locals: Best of Rome Private Tour last minute today and were fortunate to meet Stefan (from Just Locals) as our guide. He showed us the Rome we came to see, especially the hidden spots you’d only find with a local like him. He introduced us to neighborhood restaurants and historic venues our guidebook necessity would have told us about. He made us truly appreciate this amazing city like we lived here. Bravo!

Our guide was Nico and he was fabulous. It was 105 degrees Fahrenheit and he was very good about keeping us in the shade all day.
Nico was very informative, friendly and we had a great time with him during our walking tour. He even gave us restaurant recommendations and told us how to use an app to get a taxi to get around Rome. Every restaurant we went to that he recommended was excellent.
I would recommend Nico's walking tour to anyone visiting Rome, especially the first day or two you are there to get a feel for the city.

I have Ms Valeria as our tour guide, she is beautiful, patient and friendly, although her English wasn't that fluent but after awhile we could understand her way of explanation. We are supposed to covered the tour within 3.5hrs but in the end exceeded due to there were more than what we expected to covered, despite she is late for her next appointment she make sure we had completed all the visiting places before we end the trip, hence, we all deem she is very professional with the amount we paid.
