Itinerary

Make your way to the Colosseum metro station, where this private tour begins. Go directly into the Colosseum for a guided tour of the largest amphitheater ever built. See the arena and the seating levels of the Colosseum as your guide shares anecdotes about gladiatorial combat and ancient Roman entertainment, then continue into the nearby forum.

Get your bearings to ancient life in the Roman Forum, a large rectangle that’s surrounded by government buildings, temples, and landmarks. See the Arch of Constantine, the largest surviving Roman triumphal arch, then take in the Senate House, where ancient senators ruled the empire.

Visit the Temple of Julius Caesar, the House of the Vestal Virgins, Basilicas, and the Golden Mile as you learn about the dramatic battles, emperors, leaders, and rebellions that defined life in the Roman Empire. See the Temple of Concord and the Temple of Saturn, the oldest surviving temple in the Roman Forum, which stands at the foot of Capitoline Hill.

Georgia, our tour guide was really amazing. The history of the collosseum is fascinating and there were a lot of interesting stories to listen to. The lovely props that she used allowed us to form a good picture of what life was like in those days and how it was all built. There was a small child in our group and Georgia included her in everything to keep her entertained and even had puzzles for her to do.
