where do i begin? well, for starters i did this tour on a day where admission was free and to be honest it was worth every penny and more. our guide, Andrei, was everything you could hope for in a tour guide — and more. Andrei knew the Colosseum (Flavian Amphitheater) through and through. Andrei is a master of his craft and a true expert on ancient Rome. As a student of Ancient History I had many questions and commentary I wanted to add, but that felt like a conversation the rest of the group would not have been interested in. you could sense Andrei’s passion for the site along with Italy, Rome, and the Ancient World. If you are thinking about taking this tour and English is your language preference I cannot recommend Andrei enough! It felt like my history professors were there with me and it was hard to not be excited about his passion and expertise. I almost thought about quitting my own job and becoming a tour guide but honestly i don’t think I could do half as well as Andrei. What a boost it was to take this tour, I loved every minute and was sad when it ended. My only regret is not booking it sooner so I could have taken another tour with Andrei; whose sense of humor was peak. I mean, he had a captive audience of 6 people hanging on his every word. If this wasn’t Andrei’s full time job (it is) i would tell him it should be. 10/10, 5 ⭐️, ask for Andrei and tell him I sent you (he has no idea who i am). you’ll come away from this experience really feeling like you have a more meaningful understanding of Rome.

Very crowded but definitely worth it! Aphrodite, our tour guide, was excellent. She even walked us to where we can get to the non crowded entry of Paletine Hill. Highly recommend this tour👌🏾 I only wished she could have been our guide for the ancient Rome part as well but that is not included (the tickets are valid for 24 hours so we will go later).

Great tour of Collosseum and Forum in Rome

Andrea, the tour guide was excellent. She shared the history of Ancient Rome and we bypassed all long lines to enter the ruins. The only recommendation would be to actually end the guided tour at the entrance of the Forum, and not at the Collosseum, since we walked up one ramp, only to find out it was not the entrance and had to walk down and up another location.

Horrible. The site let us book for the morning of June 2nd which apparently is Republic Day and the colosseum was closed for the parade in the morning. The night before, we were told to come at 1300 for our 10:00 tour, annoying, but there we thought it was nice that they were accommodating by not just canceling when there wasn’t much they could do. We showed up at 1300 and were turned away and told to come back at 1410…which then we had to run to the colosseum because we were “late” when we showed up exactly when they asked, but the tickets they booked were for 1400. Tour was super rushed, only lasted 35 mins out of the 2.5hrs advertised, and no audio headsets. Tour guide didn’t seem to want to be there, nothing was really said outside of what we could have read on the self guided tour and the museum. We were abandoned on the second floor with no way back to the museum that we sped through. The description reads like the forum is also guided (especially with a 2.5hr time estimate) but when we were just left at the top of the colosseum, we realized we apparently had to really dig into the fine print to see that no. It’s just the colosseum, the rest is self guided. Why did I pay >$200 for a 30 min speed run that doesn’t offer refunds when I could have had a MUCH cheaper self guided tour and actually learned something. It also cut our time super short in the forum because we were waiting for our tour time slot and they had the all in one ticket. The most awesome part is that the tickets to all museums and sites on republic day were free after the parade, so I got to also pay full price for a free ticket. The least they could have done was give us an option for a refund for the tour because of an unavoidable conflict with the holiday. Even a partial refund and the ticket so we would have guided ourselves. It was not a surprise to them that June 2nd was Republic Day and it would be closed in the morning but still let us book and then were okay giving us an awful tour.

Hello there , The half day closure of the Colosseum was notified not long before 2nd of June. Initially we were informed that it will be closed until 12pm then until 1pm and lastly 2pm. However we did not cancelled your booking and WE did accommodate you on a semiprivate tour of max 6 travellers. When you arrived at the meeting point we did explain that it was a particular day and you were grateful you were still able to visit on that day and thankful we did not cancel your reservation. Indeed access was free but the lines to pick up those free reservations ( which you still have to pick up even if is free ) were up to 3-4 hours on that day. YOU DID NOT WAIT in any line, not even for a minute. You actually entered the Colosseum about 10 minutes after opening time. So WE did save you hours of waiting in the lines. You had a tour of the Colosseum with the guide. Thank you for your feedback, we will sure keep working on improving our services.

Our worst experience in Rome and a sad way to end our stay. A rushed “tour” of the Colloseum, with barely time to take photos. The rest of the tour is self-guided; so why bother paying so much? The abrupt finish was on floor 1 with no way back to the 2nd floor museum, just the exit. All in all a colossal disappointment. Look elsewhere.

Hello there, I strongly believe your description of this tour is highly inaccurate since your visit started at 3pm and the guide exit the Colosseum with the rest of the group at 4.45. You were in a semiprivate group of maximum 7 visitors and we had great feedback from others in your group. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and spoke in an interesting yet laid back manner. The gentleman who I first was contacted by in the morning at the meet point gave absolutely amazing service. He solved quite a few little problems and helped us optimize our whole experience of the Colosseum tour.

Paid and Not received service: Unguided in the Forum and Palatine

Lousy logistics management. The visit started well at the Colosseum, but when the second stage (Forum and Palatine) was reached, the assigned guide did not show up. The company left us to our fate without giving us any alternative or assistance. We had to make the visit freely and without the explanations contracted. I don't recommend this tour because of its unprofessionalism and the risk of being left lying in the middle of the tour."
