The food of the melting pot

    Lawrence_F, Aug 2026
It's insight into the lives of USA immigrants at the turn of the century highlighted by the community and a unique way of life

    Response from Host, Aug 2026

Glad that you enjoyed learning about the neighborhood history with us!

The perfect bite of NYC history!

    Joane_R, Jul 2026
If you're on the fence about this tour, just book it. Seriously. Nick was an absolute gem—smart and easy going. He kept the pace perfectly laid-back, and answered every random question we threw at him with genuine enthusiasm. What made it special? He didn't just feed us (though trust me, he did); he connected every single bite to the immigrant stories that built the Lower East Side. Additional food recommendations alone were worth the price of admission. The food? Insane. We hit the pickle place (tangy perfection), a phenomenal Asian spot I'd never have found on my own, and the bagel & bialy stop that honestly ruined grocery store bagels for life. Portion sizes are no joke—you will leave stuffed and happy. The history & museum blew me away. I had no idea the LES had its very own newspaper back in the day—Nick brought that gritty, vibrant past to life. The museum at Eldridge Street was stunningly beautiful; walking through that space felt like stepping back in time, and the tour integration made it seamless. The small group size. It felt personal, exclusive, and tailored—not like a cattle. Do yourself a favor—go hungry, bring curiosity, and ask for Nick.

Thanks so much for your kind words!

    Wonderful Deli Experience

    Andrew_D, Mar 2026
Nick the guide was great - very knowledgeable and entertaining, he made the tour really enjoyable. We learnt a huge amount that we would never have known otherwise and ate much more than we thought possible - the pickles in particular were very surprising! Thoroughly recommended.

    Response from Host, Mar 2026

I had so much fun showing you all around the neighborhood! Glad the deli food was such a hit.
