If you book on Viator, just be aware that THIS TOUR DOES NOT PICK UP AT YOUR HOTEL as in description. Also, it is in Ft. Lauderdale (not Miami). We still went b/c this was one of the main reasons we went to Miami. So expect to spend $200+ in Ubers for trip up and back from Miami. Big fish (or any fish) weren't biting the day we went, but it was still a nice day on the water and Mark did everything he could to try to find the fish. (We moved locations, etc). He is an excellent captain and fisherman...just need the Viator listing to be updated so that people know before they arrive that there is no hotel pick up.

Could Have Been Better

This would’ve been an excellent trip, but if not for the guide honoring our voucher. We would not have been able to go on the trip after booking five months in advance. Viator never communicated to the tour guide that we had a booking. Never experienced this with Viator in the past and only good experiences. However, because of this, we got to go, but not even for the full half day. Only an hour and a half of fishing.

Viator accepted my payment and booked the charter without checking with the captain for availability. I contacted the captain and he told me that Viator books him without checking with him. He was already booked that day. So we moved our reservation to the next day. It turned out that there was a tropical storm passing over Miami on Friday and Saturday. We did not get to take the charter due to the weather. I requested a refund from Viator.

Terrible Fishing Experience

We booked this charter and spoke with the captain ahead of time. We let Mark know that we wanted to go deep sea fishing for sailfish in advance. He said this is what we would be doing. The morning before our trip we were notified that there would not be a hotel pickup as advertised. He acted like he didn’t know what we were talking about even though the ad specifically states “hotel pickup”. Our scheduled fishing trip was for 12:30. The captain did arrive at the dock till after 1:00. He then wanted to know if it was ok if other guests of his rode on the boat that we rented. We felt awkward saying no so they rode along with us. The captain told us he wasn’t going to take us out deep sea fishing but would instead be fishing very close to bay and the boat docks for sharks. He complained about the water being murky and that we would only be fishing for sharks. After 3.5 hours of trolling by docks and not getting any bites he turned the boat around took us back to the boat dock. Our trip was advertised as a 6 hour fishing trip. We were only on the boat for 4 hours. The captain then asked for a tip. He insisted we give him our credit card number. Overall disappointment and rip off.

Pasamos una mañana fantastica de pesca, pudimos pescar dorados y un vela que partio la linea. Precioso verlos saltar. Entrando a puerto pudimos ver las grandes mansiones que hay en Miami. Un Capitan muy experto y ayudante divertido!!
