Great day trip to Sintra

This full day tour was excellent… Our guide picked us up at our hotel and took us to Sintra. She was very knowledgeable and on the way there taught us all about Lisbon and Sintra. On the way back to Lisbon she pointed out many sites and took us to a great restaurant on the water for lunch… I recommend this tour highly.

Incredible Experience

It’s an incredible side about 1,500 feet above sea level. It began as a monastery, and it was taken over and added to in multiple different styles. It’s quite an incredible and impressive place. You do not want to visit Portugal and not see this phenomenal place. Our guide was quite knowledgeable, and he was extremely helpful given that my husband needed help walking.

He took us through the beautiful streets and local shops of Sintra, and even made a last-minute change to the itinerary so we could visit the stunning Queluz National Palace. Miguel’s knowledge of Portuguese history was impressive—he didn’t just share facts, he told the big-picture story of how Portugal’s Kings and Queens evolved over the centuries. Ridiculously expensive r/t Uber ride from Lisbon. This is NOT a guided tour....at best a drop off at the Pena Palace. We paid $325 for a $40 admissions and a $70 r/t uber ride from hotel in Lisbon to the Pena Palace. Never again!

What a day with Alvaro in Sintra and at Pena castle, we only had a little bit of time because we arrived on a cruise ship. He picked us up right at the port. Drove us to the castle giving us all the detail and information about Lisbons landmarks Belem, monastery etc. Once arrived at the castle we felt like Kings by and Queen we got to skip all the lines and got our own tour of the inside of the castle. He even tried for us to see the moorish castle but they closed to early for us to see it. He drove us through Sintra town giving us time to explore, shop, eat and take lots of fantastic pictures. The tour continued to Cascais. In short Alvaro was amazing. He went above and beyond, and he was very knowledgeable. We had the best time with him!

Fabulous Sintra Tour by Jose Marques of Swingo

We took a tour from Lisbon to Sintra with Jose Marques of Swingo through Viator. Jose was terrific. He picked us up from our hotel, took us all over Sintra, told us fascinating stories, and helped us navigate the hills and crowds. He was patient, personable, professional, friendly, and funny. He even took us to get the famous and delicious Portuguese pastries found in Sintra before returning us to our hotel. Jose went out of his way to make sure our tour was perfect and enjoyable. He picked us when we tired of walking, kept us hydrated, and drove safely. His English was perfect, and he was comfortable joking around with us, which we loved. We highly recommend Viator, Swingo and, especially, Jose Marques.

This tour was stress free and filled with fun and information. Ana Sophia was a delight she texted us the night prior and arrived early for pick up. She had many cool stories to share and gave lots of insight into growing up and living in Portugal. You can’t beat the ease of transport and the relaxed vibe. Ana handled the tickets and parking. Skip the shuttle bus and walk up the hill. It’s gorgeous.
