Miguel was a great guide and gave us a nice overview of the city’s history and introduction to fado. We enjoyed the music and thought the price was good for a tour and meal.

Fado and a walk

Holly_S, Jan 2026
We had a great guide. We walked around for an hour and a half hearing some history of the area and the country. It was really cold so if you don’t like walking at night in the cold, this wouldn’t be the tour for you. We had great food and heard great fado music

Fado, an experience MUST when visiting Lisbon.

Astrid_M, Dec 2025
Our knowledgeable guide for the evening (Miguel) took us from the meeting point (the Hostel was a bit difficult to find as we did not notice any signs on the ground level at the station) through the area where Fado is said to originate, to the restaurant at which the event was to take place: a quaint little restaurant in one of the old narrow streets of Lisbon. 3 Fado performers took to the stage and sang their songs with lots of passion (in particular Henriqueta Baptista belted out the songs). The food was ok, but not spectacular. However, as we came to enjoy an evening of Fado, this was only a minor issue. We would highly recommend people try to experience some of this "cultural heritage" of Portugal.

Amazing evening of Dinner and Fado.

Michael_T, Nov 2025
Wonderful evening with our guide Ness. He’s friendly and knowledgeable. Learned so much about the local culture of Fado and the dinner and Fado performance was amazing. Definitely a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this tour.

Untimely cancellation

Kerry_M, Oct 2025
Was unfortunate that the tour was cancelled - understood that was a possibility if not enough people. However would have expected and appreciated more than a 40 minute before start time notice to be able to arrange alternate plans.

It was an informative work and a nice Fado show. Great singers and a good meal. Too long a walk. Was tiring..

Martin_L, Oct 2025
It was interesting. The guide was very knowledgeable. The two plus hour walk was quite a bit too long

Informative tour...

Meron_P, Oct 2025
Informative tour including local areas and history as well as great Fado music. Medium size group, relaxed dining with glass of wine

Nice tour with Dinner and Fado

Jeff_N, Sep 2025
Miguel was a great guide! Knowledgeable, personable, and attentive. Perfect English! Tour of Alfama with some overlooks and history. We sat outdoors with the singers on my shoulder! Several men and a wonderful woman! Dinner was 4 choices with a drink and dessert. Food okay but filling. Easy metro access.

Worth it!

Anagha_P, Sep 2025
Rodrigo, the tour guide was very knowledgable and provided lots of info about the history and origin of Fado. Food was authentic Portuguese style with veg options. There were 3 singers who sang about 10 songs.. it was a very enjoyable experience. Wear comfortable walking shoes!

The Oregon Lisbon fado tour

walter_m, Sep 2025
The tour guided us with a history lesson of the fado music , through the streets of Lisbon with more of history . Weather was pleasant , nice breeze . And of night life during the tour , we finally made it to the restaurant for the dinner ,music ,food . The place was small but enough room to sit and meet the people from the tour , the food was great ,wine was really local great , music was amazing ,powerful expression of the love of Portugal . The singers all of them just amazing , females had a more emotional expression of the music , the male singer was more strong with a projecting voice . Overall my wife and I just felt this was a do over for u and anyone who wants to book this tour

Don’t recommend this for solo travellers bc you will feel left out.

Margot_M, Aug 2025
I didn’t enjoy this tour as much as I had hoped. As a solo traveller, I felt a bit left out since the tour guide didn’t engage with me equally compared to others in the group. I often had to start conversations myself, and when I asked questions the responses felt vague and uninterested, whereas with others he seemed more interactive and engaging. It felt like there wasn’t much effort to make everyone feel included, which was disappointing. That being said, I really liked the overall idea of the tour walking around and exploring the streets of Alfama at night, learning bits of context, and experiencing Fado music while eating traditional Portuguese food. The concept is wonderful, but I don’t think I’d recommend it to solo travellers, as you might feel overlooked rather than part of the group.

Fado in Lisbon

Bernard_O, Aug 2025
Great way to learn about Fado in Lisbon. Miguel was a wonderful guide very helpful and knowledgeable. The setting, singing and food made for a magical evening.

Amazing experience

Anca_B, Aug 2025
This was an amazing experience. Our guide Riu was extremely knowledgeable, with very detailed explanations of the history, culture and architecture of the places he showed us. We felt we experienced Alfama through rhe eyes of the locals, including a great Fado show. Highly recommended! Thank you, Riu!

Fado Walking Tour in Alfama

Donovan_W, Aug 2025
Our Fado experience was enlightening, fun and a bit strenuous all rolled into one delightful package by our amazing guide, Miquel. It’s about an hours worth of walking up and down the hills in Lisbon before dinner so wear comfortable shoes. Along the way there are many picturesque stops where Miguel explained some of the history of both Lisbon and Fado music. We dined alfresco at a small family restaurant in Alfama with a set menu choices of Chicken, Pork or Octopus. I chose the latter and it was the best I’ve ever had. They brought out multiple performers throughout the evening as we enjoyed the meal. Well worth the experience.

Fado experience was amazing!

Darren_L, Aug 2025
Miguel was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable! I would highly recommend it to others.

Robert_P, Jul 2025
The tour was excellent Miguel provided some historical context to the sites and the history of the region. I would highly recommend this tour.

Nice way to learn about the history of Portugal and about Fado

Solveiga_S, Jul 2025
Very nice tour. Miguel gave a short summary of Portuguese history and history of Fado. I liked a short stroll through the streets of Lisbon. I expected more singing, but there were only a few songs. If you like to socialise then this tour is for you, as you will have a lot of time at the table.

Walking tour

France_C, Jun 2025
It was an excellent experience; the guide and the walking tour were great. The singers were wonderful. The food was ok.

Tour was great, Fado experience could have been better

Dick_W, Jun 2025
Walking tour was really interesting and informative. Fado was very cramped. Food was pretty good. Music did not really appeal to me.

A Fado Experience

Rosa_P, Jun 2025
Miguel our tour guide was very passionate explaining the history of Fado during our walk to the restaurant. We enjoyed listening to three singers during our dinner. The quality of the food was not outstanding. Wear comfortable walking shoes… not a short walk to the restaurant.

Unique insights into the history of Lisboa through the story of Fado Music!

NanStesch, May 2025
Great tour, Riddled with history, fables and great views of the city! The evening dinner and music show was intimate and a must do/see/listen! Miguel took great care of us and made it extra fun!
