It’s a great day to spend exploring a different area that is enhanced by wine and food. We met the best people and had a perfect day visiting a local market, having fresh caught fish for lunch two great wine tours and learning what it takes to make tiles in Portugal! Don’t miss this one. Our tour guide was the best.

What a wonderful day exploring outside of Lisbon! There’s so much peace and beauty outside of the bustling city. We enjoyed every minute of this day. Our guide was a wonderful host, the pacing was perfect, the views and the wines were exceptional and the lunch at a small family restaurant in Sesimbra was delicious. We had a fantastic day with our guide Miguel. He picked us up on time in a nice clean vehicle. Miguel had a wealth of info about Portugal on our way to the National Park. The drive thru the park was amazing. Our stop at the tile factory was so cool. We stopped for lunch at a very quaint and delicious restaurant. Both wine tours were very informative and we enjoyed them so much. Overall Miguel made the day awesome! I highly recommend this tour.

The wine tour was fine and Mr Nuno was took care of everything. If we had any complaints, it would only be that the van was a little old and felt dirty. However, Mr Nuno went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and pampered. We went to a great restaurant on the water for lunch and two wineries.

Not to Miss Trip

Nunos was a superb tour guide. Spoke goid English. Took us to markets, wineires, tile mfg, and a fabulous lical Portugese restaurant gor lunch. All the while, he educated us about Portugal. On the way back there was a terrible fatal accident on the 25th of April bridge causing an amost 2 hour backup. Nunos recognised the situation and detoured us to the Christ the King statue accrise the river from Lisbon, which gave us a fantastic panaramic view of Lisbon. Well done!

The guide (Nuno) was fantastic and the area beautiful. Great wines, just ask to visit Fonseca and skip Bacalhao. The owners collection of racially insensitive art and the guides terrible jokes about them were disgraceful. Our guide took care of all our requests and made suggestions along the way.

Not worth our money. I feel completely scammed.

We booked a Spanish tour as my family does not speak English. They wrote to me and confirmed that Spanish was no longer available but that someone would be there to translate which I agreed to. The day of the tour, there was no Spanish translator, the car that picked us up was ABSOLUTELY DIRTY and in no condition to be a tourist van. The restaurant that they took us to was a tourist scam. We got two pork kababs and a fish and paid $170 which is completely elevated for Lisbon traditional restaurant prices. It is very unfortunate but I do not recommend this tour, since my family doesn’t speak english they didnt understand a word and it was absolutely not worth our money. I feel completely scammed.

We are sorry that your expectations were not met. However, we feel it is important to clarify several points, as your review does not accurately reflect what happened during the day. Your dissatisfaction actually began before the tour even started, when you refused to walk approximately two minutes to the designated pickup point. Unfortunately, due to the size of the minivan and local access restrictions, it was physically impossible to collect you at the exact location you requested. You also repeatedly expressed that you wanted a private tour, despite having booked a shared group tour. Naturally, the experience and level of flexibility of a private tour cannot be expected from a service that was not purchased. Regarding the itinerary, you chose not to visit the renowned Quinta da Bacalhôa winery and instead remained inside the vehicle. The same happened at the traditional Azeitão tile factory, where you again decided not to participate and preferred to stay in the van. It is therefore difficult to fairly evaluate experiences that you deliberately chose not to take part in. As for our vehicle, it is inspected and used daily for tourism operations, and our guide, Nuno, is one of our most experienced and highly regarded qualified guides. He is known for his professionalism and attention to detail, and your comments about the condition of the vehicle are completely inconsistent with the feedback we consistently receive from hundreds of other guests. Concerning the restaurant, we have worked with this establishment for many years and, to date, have never received a single complaint regarding its quality or pricing. Restaurant bills are paid directly by customers, and the amount depends entirely on what is ordered. We have no control over individual food choices or the final bill. Finally, regarding the Spanish translation, we sincerely regret that the arrangement did not meet your expectations. We did our best to accommodate your request after informing you in advance that a dedicated Spanish-speaking guide was no longer available, and you confirmed that this solution was acceptable before the tour. We fully respect every guest's opinion. However, considering the number of activities you chose not to participate in, your expectations of receiving a private experience while booking a shared tour, and the overall circumstances, we believe your one-star review says more about your personal perspective than about the quality of the tour itself. Miguel was exceptional as an English speaking tour guide - lots of insights about the region and its history, and even a geology stop for the geoscientist in our group. The wine tours were both great, and Miguel’s insights were particularly helpful. Great lunch, excellent scenery, and lots of interesting wines!

The cost is high but it is a great value. The drive is better in a private vehicle. It is a van and there is enough seating space to be comfortable. Our driver Nuno was so kind and had water for us. He took care with our mother who is almost 75 and made sure we were comfortable. We learned so much about Portugal..the history, the wine and the beautiful views. We enjoyed the long day trip and ate extremely well at the places Nuno took us.

Wine and views - what else do you need!?

Nuno was the best guide for us! He was very communicative before the trip to ensure we arrived at the right pick up location. He made sure our drive to each vineyard/location was very comfortable as well. The highlights were the views we got during the drive, going to Quinta de Catralvos, and the seaside lunch. Antonio is the best tour guide!

Where do I even begin?!?! Antonio was our tour guide for the day. He was punctual and communicated effectively, reaching out a couple of days before to see how to customize the day to meet the needs of my group. Not only did he take us to the locations listed in the itinerary,he also added some of his personal favorites such as a local market, tile making store, and Galeo, a beautiful restaurant over the water. Antonio engaged in conversation though out the entire day but also gave us space to enjoy each other’s company. 10/10 recommend this tour and ask for António as your guide you will not be disappointed!

After a rough start, driver was stuck in traffic and arrived 45 minutes late, we had a great day. The driver Andre was very knowledgeable about the area. First stop was a market that made you wish you lived in that area. The winery visits were both excellent and the tile shop was impressive. The recommended lunch spot was also very good. We unfortunately did not make it into the mountains because there was too much fog.

Poorly managed Lisbon tour

This tour was canceled by management in error. We only knew when the very kind guide assigned texted he was sorry. Then we were assigned another wonderful guide. Then the tour was canceled again. Both guides were extremely helpful. The second guide gave us excellent suggestions for attractions we could visit on our own. Although we were told we would receive a full refund, we were extremely unhappy with the management. We have used Viator many times before and have never had a problem.

Thank you for your feedback. However, we would like to clarify what occurred on that day. There was a large public demonstration in Lisbon, which caused major road closures and severe traffic constraints across the city. Our manager carefully explained that, due to these circumstances, it would be impossible for the guide to arrive at the pick-up point at the scheduled time. We also informed you that the expected delay would be around two hours. Proceeding under these conditions would significantly shorten the experience and prevent us from delivering the level of service we are known for. For that reason, we made the professional decision not to operate a wine tour that would fall short of a 5-star experience. Even so, our second guide made an additional effort to assist by proposing an alternative plan within the city, offering suggestions so you could still enjoy your day. Operating a wine tour with such a delay is simply not viable, and canceling was the most responsible course of action. A full refund was, of course, issued. Given that the situation was clearly explained and entirely beyond our control, we must say this review feels unfair to a team that acted with transparency and professionalism throughout. Is it really fair to rate a one-star experience for a service that was never actually delivered, potentially damaging an otherwise excellent rating?

Wonderful Day in Arribada

Wonderful day to see the Arribada natural reserve area and nearby wine country. Our driver, Nuno did a great job showing us the area and telling us about the history and culture of the area and wineries, along with securing us a wonderful spot for lunch next to the ocean in Portinho da Arrabida.

I would highly recommend this tour! Both wineries were lovely but we especially enjoyed Catralvos with its small operation and amazing wine. Rui was the perfect guide. You can feel his passion for the region and for wine. He took us to a small restaurant by the water where we picked out our fish that was caught that day and they grilled it up for us. All around great tour!

Our driver Nuno was courteous and amicable. He made sure we were comfortable through our day. Due to storms we could not visit the mountains but he was able to get us an additional wine tasting to compensate. The market was very interesting relative to the seafoods available and the small tile factory was most intriguing. The selected wineries to tour were vastly different in their actual tours and they information presented. We had a midday lunch at one of the oldest restaurants in the area and it was quite authentic Portuguese. A great day overall.

Andrew was amazing. He took us several places that were quite remarkable and he explained everything so well that we were left more than pleased. Overall, an excellent tour. We particularly enjoyed the visit to the tile studio. Seeing artisans actually create the beautiful hand painted tiles was a definite highlight! Rui was a fantastic guide who shared a great deal of knowledge as well as his personal experiences with us. The two vineyard tours and tastings contrasted the processes undertaken by large and small companies and were very informative. Taking this private tour was well worth the cost!
