Where do I even begin?!?! Antonio was our tour guide for the day. He was punctual and communicated effectively, reaching out a couple of days before to see how to customize the day to meet the needs of my group. Not only did he take us to the locations listed in the itinerary,he also added some of his personal favorites such as a local market, tile making store, and Galeo, a beautiful restaurant over the water. Antonio engaged in conversation though out the entire day but also gave us space to enjoy each other’s company. 10/10 recommend this tour and ask for António as your guide you will not be disappointed!

After a rough start, driver was stuck in traffic and arrived 45 minutes late, we had a great day. The driver Andre was very knowledgeable about the area. First stop was a market that made you wish you lived in that area. The winery visits were both excellent and the tile shop was impressive. The recommended lunch spot was also very good. We unfortunately did not make it into the mountains because there was too much fog.

Poorly managed Lisbon tour

This tour was canceled by management in error. We only knew when the very kind guide assigned texted he was sorry. Then we were assigned another wonderful guide. Then the tour was canceled again. Both guides were extremely helpful. The second guide gave us excellent suggestions for attractions we could visit on our own. Although we were told we would receive a full refund, we were extremely unhappy with the management. We have used Viator many times before and have never had a problem.

Thank you for your feedback. However, we would like to clarify what occurred on that day. There was a large public demonstration in Lisbon, which caused major road closures and severe traffic constraints across the city. Our manager carefully explained that, due to these circumstances, it would be impossible for the guide to arrive at the pick-up point at the scheduled time. We also informed you that the expected delay would be around two hours. Proceeding under these conditions would significantly shorten the experience and prevent us from delivering the level of service we are known for. For that reason, we made the professional decision not to operate a wine tour that would fall short of a 5-star experience. Even so, our second guide made an additional effort to assist by proposing an alternative plan within the city, offering suggestions so you could still enjoy your day. Operating a wine tour with such a delay is simply not viable, and canceling was the most responsible course of action. A full refund was, of course, issued. Given that the situation was clearly explained and entirely beyond our control, we must say this review feels unfair to a team that acted with transparency and professionalism throughout. Is it really fair to rate a one-star experience for a service that was never actually delivered, potentially damaging an otherwise excellent rating?

We had a fantastic day with our guide Miguel. He picked us up on time in a nice clean vehicle. Miguel had a wealth of info about Portugal on our way to the National Park. The drive thru the park was amazing. Our stop at the tile factory was so cool. We stopped for lunch at a very quaint and delicious restaurant. Wonderful Day in Arribada

Wonderful day to see the Arribada natural reserve area and nearby wine country. Our driver, Nuno did a great job showing us the area and telling us about the history and culture of the area and wineries, along with securing us a wonderful spot for lunch next to the ocean in Portinho da Arrabida.

I would highly recommend this tour! Both wineries were lovely but we especially enjoyed Catralvos with its small operation and amazing wine. Rui was the perfect guide. You can feel his passion for the region and for wine. He took us to a small restaurant by the water where we picked out our fish that was caught that day and they grilled it up for us. Market, Tiles, Food, & Wine…Great Day

Our driver Nuno was courteous and amicable. He made sure we were comfortable through our day. Due to storms we could not visit the mountains but he was able to get us an additional wine tasting to compensate. The market was very interesting relative to the seafoods available and the small tile factory was most intriguing. The selected wineries to tour were vastly different in their actual tours and they information presented. We had a midday lunch at one of the oldest restaurants in the area and it was quite authentic Portuguese. A great day overall.

Overall, an excellent tour. We particularly enjoyed the visit to the tile studio. Seeing artisans actually create the beautiful hand painted tiles was a definite highlight! Rui was a fantastic guide who shared a great deal of knowledge as well as his personal experiences with us. The two vineyard tours and tastings contrasted the processes undertaken by large and small companies and were very informative. Taking this private tour was well worth the cost!

Our driver Andy was very good. He communicated well with us and was fun. The tile factory was nice and the first winery was good. Lunch was very pricey ($125 for 2) but the views were very pretty. The second winery was a little disappointing. No tour, just 2 glasses of wine to taste. A little disappointed. We had booked this tour for 3 people, but our son couldn’t make it and the tour operator was unwilling to give anything back since we didn’t cancel 24 hours ahead. It’s a shame, because if we only paid for two people, it was still the same size car. And by being down one we actually consumed less wine! A little something back would have shown good faith. Had we been notified before the 24-hour cancellation window, we would have gladly adjusted or partially refunded the booking in line with our policy. We do, however, appreciate your understanding and are happy to hear that overall you enjoyed parts of the experience with Andy and our local partners.

Private Lisboa Arriba Wine Tour: Food & Wines. Mountain and Sea. Target was to visit 2 wineries and some other attractions. First of all, pick-up was late from original schedule by 50 min (we were told that pick-up is 09:30am (message from guide), but as guide arrived at 09:50, we were only passages, he could pick-up us straight from accommodation, rather than train station). First winery was exceptional, we were there only quest. No complaints for that visit. Other visits to market place or tile factory’s were not exceptional. And second winery was disappointment, we were served portions of white/red, this part we could passed (wine presentation was given by our own guide). And finally return was made by uber(booked by our guide), instead of guide transportation(due to family urgencies). Overall rate 6,5/10.

This is Not a Fully Private Tour!

My wife and I are actually in the process of disputing the money we were charged for this tour. After our friends got sick and decided to cancel their portion of the tour, my wife and I decided to shorten our tour and try to customize it a bit to suit our needs. However, when trying to do this, we discovered that the tour was not really completely private. The transportation to the first stop of the tour, and back to the hotel, is with other people not on your tour, so it is not possible to change anything about the tour that affects where the tour starts, where it ends, or how long it will take. The tour may have been good but we cancelled before we could really find out.

Wonderful Wine Tasting Experience

This is a great tour and included more than just wine tasting. Yes the wine tasting was fun and enjoyable. A passionate and experienced guide

Pedro is passionate about his tour and goes out of his way to ensure that his guests have the best experience. The places visited were chosen after Pedro talked about what we liked and needed. No one size fits all itinerary on this trip! Whilst titled a wine tour, we also visited a market, stopped at a local seafood restaurant on the water, saw how tiles are made and painted and had time to see amazing viewpoints and travel over Lisbon’s major bridges. The wines we tasted were excellent and the tour of the wineries was conducted by an experienced and knowledgeable sommelier. A fab Ntastic day out and highly recommended!
