Check in at the dock, located on Pier B behind the Westin Resort in Key West, and then climb on board the Tiger Cat. This 34-foot (10-meter), custom-built, eco-friendly catamaran is captained by local wildlife experts with more than 30 years of experience on the Florida Keys’ backcountry waters. The boat utilizes a power-pole system rather than an anchor(s) to keep it in place while viewing sharks, thus preventing any possible damage to the seagrass and coral bottom below.
Travel through the shallow waters close to natural mangrove islands and look for a variety of wildlife — like dolphins, turtles, stingrays and birds, to name a few. Then proceed about four miles (six km) offshore to prime shark territory. A scented bait is dropped into the water to attract these super predators right to the edge of the boat, sharks of all kinds: lemon, nurse, bull, blacktip and hammerhead sharks. Make sure to have a camera ready to capture the scene.

This is a must do for everyone. This experience was awesome. The guides on the boat was very knowledgeable about the sharks and gave you a lot of information. I would definitely say this is the best thing to do while you are in key west. Thanks to the guides on the boat for an awesome adventure! Y'all were great!

Had a great day on the water with Tanner and Matt. They were very knowledgeable about EVERYTHING (sharks, dolphins, the waters, etc.). They were very patient with the guests' needs: answering questions, allowing the children to feed the sharks, and giving recommendations for local eateries, etc. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour!

Excellent tour! I love sharks and was excited to see so many lemon sharks in the wild. The crew, Captain Tanner and Matt, were funny and very knowledgeable about the sharks and the waters around Key West. The catamaran was big enough for everyone to have a seat and also to stand and see the sharks when we were moored. Smooth ride out and back with a great breeze to cool off in the August heat. We saw a few bottlenose dolphins on our way back, too! Although the tour info says they chum for sharks, I was happy to see that “chumming” was just holding a bonito above the water for the sharks to snap at. No fish guts or blood or anything like that was dumped into the water. The sharks know where to meet the boat because of the sound the engines make. Super cool! I’d do it again and again!

Great experience! Got to see a lot of lemon sharks as they feed them from the boat. They went out of their way to make sure we were able to see dolphins that day as the dolphins were not wanting to show up but we did find some!!! Fun day!

Just what I needed a 2 hour boat ride to see the lemon sharks and there were many. About 20 people on the boat and plenty of room to sit and when the boat anchored we spent a good amount of time feeding them. The captain even let the children give the sharks a bit of fish. I totally enjoyed the trip.

One this takes you out into the ocean so bring your motion sickness stuff. Two the tour is great and so unique watching the sharks come up and at the same time learn so much. The guide was incredible he gave us interesting information about sharks that I thought I knew but was surprised such as why fish blood and human blood are so different in attraction to sharks. The have water that is provided and you spend a good time out there watching these beautiful sharks. I appreciate that the guide made sure everyone had a good view by asking people to rotate so everyone got a good view. Thank you for doing that especially when you didn't have to but concerned. Kids, friends will enjoy this and come off the boat smiling. My advice do the early morning reference the heat in the afternoon and the area of the Keys gets crowded in the afternoon.

Thank you for this detailed feedback! Know that we mostly venture into shallow / calm waters to interact with the sharks so motion sickness is highly unlikely for our passengers. We always ask many time for passengers to rotate the viewing position however we always prioritize the kids being front row as it is easy to look over them. This summer has definitely been a hot one so our shaded boat is welcomed and the morning time is ideal for sure. Thank you for sharing the adventure with us!

What a beautiful morning at sea with the best shark viewing in Key West. We had a great time and as promised, saw many sharks up close and personal in safety from our boat. The captain and crew were warm and friendly and knowledgable about the area and as they said, so far in 17 years they haven't lost a passenger. The tour was 2 hours as promise and we had just a few steps from our cruise ship to the boat.

It was amazing and glad we did it. I did this with my family and everyone enjoyed it.
This is a must do item I would say. The Narration, ride, atmosphere and most importantly the sharks were 10 on 10. My son also got a chance to feed the shark and he was thrilled!!
In my case, they even accommodated a late date change request (as I was traveling from Miami and had to reschedule everything by a day), understanding my situation. THANK YOU!!

Great experience for families! Great way to get off shore and see the beautiful waters while getting to see sharks and dolphins. The crew was great about giving kids an upfront row to view the shark feeding as well as rotating adults so we all got a great view to see. Kids also go to feed the sharks which they loved. The crew was friendly and timely. The large shaded boat canopy was also a plus to give everyone shaded seats! No swim suits needed as there's no swim stops in this trip.

Dad jokes before leaving the dock! Being a Dad, I thought they were funny. The trip out to see the sharks was peaceful and beautiful. The Captain was explaining all about the the different sea levels and variety of sea life to keep an eye open for to get a better look. Once out to the spot sharks were coming out as soon as bait touched water. We saw 6 sharks all fighting for a spot. Water was clear so seeing them so close was fascinating.
After the Shark viewing it was off to see some dolphins and more Dad jokes. They found a pod of about 20 dolphins that were around the same area and crewmember Matt was explaining all the different personalities we were seeing.
Overall it was a great experience and loved being out to see this and would recommend this to anyone.
