Emily and Danielle were great hosts. The salmon was caught by Emily’s dad. She had good tips on how to best prepare salmon and was very knowledgeable about the different types of salmon. Everything was very tasty. It’s an easy walk from all cruise ship berths. Highly recommend for all foodies!

We love to cook and really enjoyed our experience. We were fortunate to be the only students the day we attended and had so much fun! This was definitely one of the highlights of our 23 day cruise.

Nothing better than friendly, kind locals sharing their tricks in preparing fresh, tasty, local salmon! One of the favorite things on our trip!

      Fantastic Cooking Class in Ketchikan!

My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed this cooking class! Emily was excellent! From communicating about the meetup place to the laid-back atmosphere of the class- this was one of the highlights of our entire Alaskan cruise experience. Emily was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The location is perfect for cruisers, and the “classroom”/ kitchen is beautiful. Plus, the food was the best we ate on the whole trip. Looking forward to making the recipes again at home. 100% would take the class again and/or recommend to anyone!

The class was a great experience, especially for anyone who’s coming in to Ketchikan to fish. We had a great time.

Loved it, very yummy and fun!

A nice way to spend a couple hours learning different ways to prepare salmon. The hosts were friendly and enjoyable. The food was delicious. It's right on the water, so you may get lucky and see a whale while you are there, like we did!

      Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thanks Rene! What a treat that was! So glad you got to see it.

      Absolutely a must-do experience!

Excellent way to spend time in Ketchikan! Emily and Danielle were both outstanding. Had a great time making the delicious salmon based dishes...and then eating them of course! It's a small group with individual attention in a lovely space. Highly recommend if you are in Ketchikan.

Thanks David! We hope the rest of your trip is amazing (and you found some blackcod!)

It is a little confusing to find but proprietors give their phone. Very close to cruise ship docks. Event was excellent! Easy hands on recipes that tasted fantastic. Accommodating to dietary issues. Felt like home everyone so friendly some people were from other ships. Everyone had fun, and loved the food.

      Response from Host, Jul 2025

This is a totally hands on cooking class. Emily shares family favorite recipes and walks you through how to prepare. At the end you have a family feast. It’s a great way to experience Ketchican with a local!
