Good value but rather go to less places and spend more time at each - ex: the Dole plantation, could spend more time there and either ride the train or do the maze or enjoy the shopping. Did not need to stop by the coffee place at the end. The location for snorkeling was not great. Would be fun to stop and do some interactive activities. The van was very hot after lunch.
Great sightseeing tour beautiful sights kids , and thr adults were just let down there was no actual sea turtles snorkeling
Paul is wonderful! His native Hawaiian culture was a great asset to telling us about Hawaii traditions and cultures and language. He is very interactive with his tour, very fun. We will book again!
Rob is very friendly, knowledgeable and a great host. We loved the tour, learnt a lot and covered many interesting sights. Much appreciated 👏
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Much Aloha and Mahalo, your feedback is always greatly appreciated
Rude, unprofessional experience. Did not take us to the beach as advertised for some unknown reason. Driver mentioned that weather is bad and gave us the option to go shopping or the beach, everyone selected the beach then he proceeded to say that he is the leader of this bus and it is his decision not ours, took us to no where, left us there for an hour and half and took the bus and left. There was nothing to do, no shopping to do, and definetly no beach.
Do not book with Island Circle tours. I was assigned a seat at the very back of the bus with basically no window- for a 10 hour bus tour where the majority of the time is meant to be spent on the bus, looking out the window. The other couple that was put on the back of the bus with me bailed at the first stop. Because what is the point of a bus tour if you have to lean/ crane your neck to see out the window of the person in front of you. For 10 hours, at that. I decided to not continue on the tour at the third stop. Upon contacting the company for a refund, the employee I spoke with acknowledged that it is a terrible seat and he would not seat people back there if it was up to him. Ultimately, I was told the manager is very strict on refunds and I would not receive even a partial refund. They are so greedy and should not be booking this tour so full that people have to sit in the back with no view. I took the issue up with Viator and received a ~40% refund. Absolutely not worth the money spent, and then having to get an expensive uber back so as not to waste my whole day.
Amazing island tour with great stops throughout! Chief Rob was knowledgeable, lighthearted, and made the whole day so enjoyable and fun. Highly recommend this experience!
Take a portable phone charger that you can charge your phone with because you’ll want to take a ton of pictures and videos.
The places you stamp are great, the food is great, the info you get from the guide is amazing. Almost too much to take it all in.
The tour itself was great. Food and coffee samples were great, but the driver wasn’t so good, he talked nonstop all day , and half of it was about his life.
Trip was well organized and Eric, our tour guide, made everyone on the bus be part of the experience
We loved the Island History. The whole tour was the best. I can’t believe that Chief Rob kept us engaged and listening to the Island Legends and history the whole time.
My husband and I come to the Islands at least every year since we’ve been married for 35 years and we do the Circle Island Tour whenever we are here for a week.
This was one of the best tours we have been on because of the authenticity, honesty, humble and real fun stories and even jokes and laughter.
Chief Rob knows the Island inside and out, edge to edge. He gave us a deeper appreciation of the Islanders, true Hawaiians and he also educated us how to love each other with the Aloha Spirit (my husband and I immediately practiced putting our foreheads together and breathing and sharing our spirit with each other)
Today my husband picked up some plastic that he found on the ground, and I am more cautious not to let any of our items become garbage left on the ground (I already do that, but I better aware of taking care of the Island)
We will also enjoy the food recommendations today for sure.
Lastly the Island roads that took us around the island were a bit difficult to navigate however with Chief Rob at the helm we knew we were taken cared of.
About 10 years ago I went on a snorkeling tour and our tour guide did not mention anything about murky water possibly being not good to swim in, so there were a group of us who opted to go snorkeling. Shortly after we came home, just a week later, ai developed an ear infection in both ears. It was because of the bacteria in the water.
I just want to say, Chief Rob, went above and beyond and was honest and I love that about the Tour yesterday. He mentioned that the waters would be a little muddy because of the high winds and the forecast of high surf advisory. We even saw that the water was murky and he still asked if there would be anyone interested in either snorkeling or just swimming. While no one on our bus chose to snorkel because of the obvious conditions of murky brown waters, again I just want to point out that Chief Rob had our best interest at heart and truly took care of all of us!
I am sad that he will be retiring soon. I hope that the people he trains who work for Rainbow Island Tour have the same Spirit, Mission, and Passion and Love of the Islands and the people, as Chief Rob!
Aloha and Mahalo Chief Rob!

Our guide Rob was super informative. Very funny and kept us all entertained. Perfect timing getting us back to our hotel at a decent time. I really enjoyed learning about Hawaii and the Hawaiian culture.
This was a great tour from start to finish. Eric (driver and guide) was excellent. He was informative, friendly and fun. Whilst it is a whistle stop tour of all the main things, there was enough time to see and experience everything. The group size was also nice, not to big. Would recommend this tour especially if you are limited with time or need to visit loads to decide where to go back to for longer.
Was great to see the rest of the island. Out guide was good. Highlight was the swimming & snorkeling.
Uncle Dave is very knowledgeable entertaining friendly and hospitable
Would highly recommend and would do it again
The trip was as described. It is a lot of time on the bus, but you do see a lot of things and the guide was entertaining. We did not get to snorkel due to surf conditions.
Chief Rob was great, super informative, gave great information and kept everyone entertained the entire trip.
Too many rules, to much about Rob.
Long day, I was ready to get off.
Our stops were nice and did enjoy them.
I would recommend this tour , maybe with someone else.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. There were 5 of us that attended. Were excited to explore and visit all the sites. This was on Christmas so we were aware of the possible closures of certain cites. We made it to a few stops and then our bus broke down and we had to wait. The bus driver complained the whole time about the boss and how this was not his normal bus. I believe after the break down of the bus it just went down hill. He was constantly grumpy and not helpful at all. When it comes to lunch it says you will go to trucks (plural). We were forced to eat at one site (not truck) and were told that we would have to order beforehand otherwise they would not have it ready in time. He even had people cancel their orders that they ordered in advance. Mind you he had a menu ready for you to choose from. Guessing he got something for placing the order through him. I thought at first we had to only go to this location because of Christmas day but, we pulled away from the site and about a mile down the road was a whole group of trucks all open. So if you are hoping to experience the trucks this is not for you and be ready to be forced to order at this one site with meh food.
If you are looking forward to the snorkeling part of the trip you are taken to a beach and simply dropped off with a mask and snorkel. No instructions given besides be back in an hour. There were probably a handful of people that took the opportunity to snorkel and 3 came back injured.
Henry is awesome. He was enthusiastic, funny, and professional. He ensured that we were on time and on track throughout the trip as planned. I would love it if you would add more tours with Viator throughout Hawaii and other locations with tour guides like him. 👍
This is an amazing trip. Johnny is a fantastic guide and made a very fun and informative day. You get to see and enjoy the entire island in 1 day. Would definitely recommend.
Great! Chief Rob is very entertaining, informative and friendly. Lunch time , he collected our food so we didn't go to line.he took care of it for us.
The guide, David was excellent he knew the areas and the history of the island. He was very nice and funny. He was also very accommodating.
Tour guide Eric was rude to me, didn’t seem like he wanted to be there, rushed us a lot, and every time I would ask him something he seemed annoyed, one time I was asking a question & he never looked up from his phone. He was like this from the time we got on the bus. Tour was great, rushed but good views.
Great tour and took in the majority of the island. Our guide Eric was very knowledgeable and pointed out some great landmarks and taught us much about the history of the island.
My only criticism is, I wish they would do a breakfast stop. You jump on the bus around 7:30am and dont eat lunch until 12:30ish
Henry gets 5 stars. There were several stops close together with food at each. Henry was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
I went on this tour with my husband and some friends while we were in town for my husband’s work convention and it was so amazing! Very informative and we got to see so many amazing sights! The price of this tour was extremely reasonable as well compared to other ones! We couldn’t rave about this tour enough you must do it and have the whole day allotted for it! Rob was our tour guide and was absolutely amazing and funny as well!
This is a really long day with multiple short stops. It does make the loop from Waikiki past Diamond Head, along the coast, to the Dole Plantation and back to Waikiki. Beautiful scenery. In retrospect, I would have preferred an actual stop at Diamond Head instead of a quick drive-by and more time at Dole. Unfortunately this was the only option to get both done in 1 trip.
I really liked it; I am here on vacation from Alaska.
it was so nice to get out in the sun and see the Island.
the only thing is the driver needs a bigger vehicle so it can be more comfortable. since it is such a long ride all day, he needs a much bigger vehicle.
the driver was wonderful such a nice person.
