Not worth the money

Ena_J, Mar 2026
To start off i have been to other luaus in other islands. So I have something to compare it it. This was not like any of those. This one was bad. The set up was odd and people were far away from stage. There was caution tape around aloha tower and I understood why but it just added to the feel of not a great space for an event like this. The food was cold and even watermelon was not fresh. The food was served in to go containers. After paying over a 135 dollars we couldn't even eat out of a plate? The drinks were watered down and disappointing too. Please go to another luau option if possible if you want to feel in nature this is not it. The best part was the valet parking attendants and their willing to help attitude. Everyone else seemed to be there to just do a job. However you charge too much to not give people a good experience. Will never come back or recommend this luau to anyone.

Awesome Show!!!

Sandra_A, Mar 2026
Very cool experience everyone’s friendly. For activities arrive early to take advantage. Show was 10/10 and the performers were great!

Great show and Buffet!!

Amazing show to end our oahu trip. Its amazing !! We highly recommend it. Its fun and very personalized show

Don’t waste your $

Cynthia_S, Mar 2026
Dumb. Corny. Not as expected. Don’t waste your money. I would have rather seen the beautiful sunset that was blocked by the stafe.

Was not what I was...

Billy_S, Mar 2026
Was not what I was expecting for an authentic Luau. You couldn’t see the Ocean. It’s next to a ship yard. They gave us a punch’o to sit in the rain to eat and watch the show. The food was good and the show was very entertaining.

Great show!

Jessica_H, Mar 2026
I really enjoyed this! I had low expectations (mostly for the weather because it rained constantly) and the show was fantastic despite the rain. They did a really good job keeping the show moving, since people were being rained on, and provided ample covered space for people to sit and stand and watch the show. The food was good and I would highly recommend this - even in the rain!

Terrible experience we left half way

Susan_S, Mar 2026
No class into the whole event Horrible setup Poor rentals tables chairs server ware Terrible food Overpriced for they offer

Everything were not expected

Shawn_P, Mar 2026
Food was awfull. Homeless foods might be better. Show was mediocre. Would not recommend it. Hope they can improve with the food to the real experience of what they was advertised

It was fine

Sandra_C, Mar 2026
I would like to say the food and show was great, our table was very far from the stage although we reserved far ahead of time, that was a bit disappointing, there was no ocean view although it was advertised as “Oceanfront “ the view was obstructed due to construction.

Rain didn’t stop the fun

Rachel_R, Mar 2026
Such a fun experience. We sat through a travel zoom thing for the upgrade and it was worth it for the flower leis and closer seating. Oceanfront luau is a bit misleading because while yes, it’s technically facing a beach, you don’t see the beach at all. But the staff was so helpful and took great care of us. It rained our entire luau but they gave us ponchos to keep us dry. They also set out tents to provide coverage as best they could. The food was delicious. The drinks were great. And the entertainment was top notch. From tree climbers, to hula dancers, to a fire show…it was worth it, even sitting in the rain.

Good show but not worth the money

Hayley_D, Mar 2026
Great show but if it’s raining it’s outdoors. Food ok but not worth paying the top dollar for & the drinks well very limited choice. When you pay over $600 you expect a bit more. Advertised as 3 hours - lucky to be 2 hours. Don’t waste your money!

Don’t spend your money on this if the weather isn’t perfect

Debbie_J, Mar 2026
Cancel in advance if the weather is potentially rainy. We paid over $309 to get a box of cold food and sheet poncho to sit in the rain. Given the frequency amount of money invested in these luaus, they should be prepared to put up tents for all guest if they go through with the show during rain. I was so miserable and disgusted I had spent harder money this way that we just got up and left land got an Uber back to our hotel.

Make the signs more clearer and seating arrangement more fair

PATRICKHING_L, Mar 2026
The excursion was fine. It was some confusion at the port hanger where the tour guides waited. The face of the signs C Big Island Tour guides were holding did not indicated the name of C Big Island Tour and the #5 sign were held facing backward. The guests had to find, ask and verify their queue. Since the buses were mostly small, the seating should be asigned first come first served as the reservations were made.

A Must See!

I’m so sorry, but as a local this was too cringe inducing, I so deeply regret agreeing to go. Everyone did an amazing job, but it was just too hard to watch and I ended up leaving.

Luau- great dancing!

Sandra_T, Mar 2026
Good choice for luau. Food was good - only thing was disappointed we didn’t get to choose our food as it was served in a prefilled container. The show was awesome! Loved learning about history of tribes that came to Hawaii. Dancing was great- fire batons amazing!

Disappointing experience.

Sharon_G, Mar 2026
While they call it an ocean front luau, Don’t expect to be on a beach or see the ocean. There’s a large fence with black material in the background. It’s on a stage, not beach. If you’re in the back, it’s difficult to see what’s going on, because the stage is low. We were picked up late (using their transportation) and missed the first 30 minutes of the event. So we didn’t get to do any of the cultural experiences, nor were we compensated for it. It was a bit disorganized upon arrival. The food was good, and the stage show was good. But was pretty disappointed with our experience

Best luau!!!!

Just OK. Will not do again

Dana_W, Mar 2026
The food was just OK. It came in a to go box with plastic ware. This was my first luau. If be interested to know if other luau would be more fun. The activities were crowded.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Mahalo for your honest feedback and for choosing to spend your first luau with us. We’re sorry to hear parts of the experience didn’t meet your expectations, especially with the dining presentation - we did want to mention in the event of rainy weather we do offer dinner in covered containers to help keep the meal protected from the wet. Your comments are important and help us continue improving the flow and overall guest experience. We truly hope you had a wonderful rest of your time in Hawaiʻi. 🌺

Luau

Dennis_M, Feb 2026
Thanks to one of the ushers, we were able to get seating where we could see. Initially was beside food tables, couldn’t see a thing. Cheap on the free drink(small and tasted like punch)…food was just ok. Show was very good. Motivator guy was a little much. Transportation was good.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Aloha Dennis, Mahalo for sharing your experience with us. We’re glad one of our team members was able to help move you to better seating and that you enjoyed the show and transportation. We’re sorry some aspects like the drinks didn’t fully meet expectations and we will definitely address that with our team. Your feedback helps us improve how we welcome and seat guests moving forward. We appreciate you joining us and hope you still took home some good island memories. 🤙

Best Luau ever

CHRIS_H, Feb 2026
We attended the Ka Moana Luau last night and it was absolutely AMAZING! From the moment we arrived, everything was so well organized and welcoming. The setting at Aloha Tower during sunset was stunning — such a beautiful backdrop to kick off the evening. The food was delicious with a great variety. Everything was flavorful and fresh, and there was plenty to go around. The drinks were just as good and really added to the island vibe. The performances were incredible. The dancers were so talented and the storytelling throughout the show was powerful and engaging. You could truly feel the pride in Polynesian culture with every performance. And the fire knife dancer? UNREAL. Definitely a highlight of the night! What I loved most was how intimate and immersive it felt — not overly crowded, and you could really see and connect with the performers. It wasn’t just dinner and a show — it was a full cultural experience. If you’re in Honolulu, this luau is a must-do. We left smiling, full, and so glad we chose Ka Moana!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Aloha Chris, Wow! Mahalo for such a beautiful review! We love hearing that the sunset at Aloha Tower helped set the tone for your evening and that you felt the pride and storytelling behind each performance. Our dancers and musicians put their whole hearts into sharing Polynesian culture, and we’ll be sure to pass along your shoutout to our talented fire knife dancers! We’re honored you chose Ka Moana Luau and hope we welcome you back again someday. 🤙🔥

Wonderful experience not to be missed

bernard_n, Feb 2026
The buffet food was something you can get elsewhere but the luau experience consisted of a combination of history and entertainment. Between fire acts and hula dancers and island traditions, this event was an experience everyone should go to at least once in their lives.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Aloha Bernard, Mahalo for your thoughtful review! We’re happy you enjoyed the combination of storytelling, traditions, and entertainment. We appreciate you recommending the experience and hope your Hawaiʻi memories stay with you for years to come. 🌴🔥 A hui hou!
