It takes one hour to reach Basecamp from Fairbanks! Make sure to leave with plenty of time, we do not offer refunds for lateness! Please note this tour requires self drive to our property. We recommend a mid-size vehicle with 4WD and that you have winter driving experience

A cute reindeer retreat where you are able to pet, feed and take photos with the reindeer they have out. The three reindeer we got to meet were friendly and very cute. Our guide was sweet and informative. Just a short walk from the base camp where you are able to go back to and have yourself a warm drink and enjoy the beautiful view.

This was a fun little excursion about an hour outside of Fairbanks. You’ll spend 30 minutes at the pens with the reindeer feeding them. They host small groups for ample opportunity to interact. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly.
The base camp is amazing you can do multiple excursions there so if you are interested in other activities you may want to bundle them all in one location.
There is also a cafe on sight.

We traveled from Pennsylvania to Alaska. The Reindeer Meet and Greet was a great experience. My daughters (4 and 18) lived every moment!

Our guide was super friendly but this place is a little far from Fairbanks, also, the reindeers are a little out of control, they kept ramming into us.

We got to pet and feed reindeer as we learned about the herd and specific reindeer we met. So worth it!

Ahmae is a sweet guide. It’s obvious the reindeer love her. We got to feed a couple of them and also get into the pen with one to pet him. Learned a lot about reindeer from Ahmae. Just wish we could have spent a little more time and maybe gotten to walk around the area (outside of the pen) like some of the photos advertising the activity show.

We met 3 reindeers- Gary, Hank, & Alis! I would definitely recommend this meet and greet. You get to feed them and pet them!
Only trouble was finding their location. There’s no real visible sign to point to their location and where to park and enter. But the staff were friendly and showed us the way!

The address doesn’t show that you are going to Borealis Basecamp. Once you get there you have to go to a different area to sign waivers then are taken to to a different spot where we had to walk down a hill. It felt very rushed, we didn’t get a lot of information on the “tour”. Our group had 5 people and 3 people were already at the spot where the reindeer are. When we got to the babies, there was a bottle for 8 people to share to feed the baby. The other two women used most of the bottle and no one in our group was given a chance to do it. It felt very much disappointing for the price we paid.

Got to see the reindeers and pet/feed them. Tyler, our guide was informative too which was a plus. I just felt the price was expensive for a similar event as to touching animals in farms which is why I rated average. Also recommend visiting during bright hours as we went there early morning and our photos came out dark.
