Tim was a wonderful guide. He is well informed, entertaining, and covered a wide range of topics from history of Alaska as a territory, then as a a US State, the creation of the Park, the Trans Alaska Pipeline, the oil industry, details about the landscape, the permafrost, the animals, and Fairbanks. We thoroughly enjoyed his commentary!
What beautiful landscape traveling to and from Denali! We had several photo opportunities along the way. We stopped to view the wildlife, went to the visitors center, and took a 0.6 mile nature hike.
Tim even let us try out some snow shoes! Ha!
My family and I truly enjoyed this experience and I would highly recommend it!!

Best wishes for a bright spring! (which, it decided to snow today proving we have a little more winter in us before summer).

Very informative! Multiple stops along the way to Denali to show different animals, rivers, the very important town of Nenana. Small little walk through the Boreal forest was breathtakingly beautiful. Unfortunately, we did not get to see Denali because it was snowing the day we were there. But the overall experience was absolutely amazing! Sarah was our tour guide and she was phenomenal! Really enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it!

Watching Denali and the mountains appear and grow on the drive from Fairbanks to Denali was awesome. Our guide's stories of his growing up and life in Alaska were interesting, informative and brought living in Alaska to life for me. Meeting and greeting the Denali sled dogs was the highlight of the day. I highly recommend this tour. Worth every penny.

Leisurely back road drive. Not much to see in late September. We had a clear crisp beautiful day but didn't get very close to Denali.
Far in the distance but visible. After traveling so far to see, it was disappointing. Not the tour if you want a closer look

Thank you for joining us on the Denali Winter Drive Adventure. We are sorry we didn't meet your expectation .. which sounds like you were looking to get to the mountain. We can review our information; however, we are not focused on Mount Denali but Denali National Park which we do get into and we do have a nature walk. There we do share information about the park and nature.
You don't mention it; however, we hope you did enjoy the tour and information shared with you by your guide.
Happy Winter.
For those looking to get to the mountain there is the Denali Summit Flight.

Had a fantastic experience sight-seeing in Denali with our tour guide, John! At the start of our tour, we stopped by a cafe to grab lunch for later. We stopped by Nenana on the way to Denali, with John teaching us about some of the history of the town. During the two hour ride from Fairbanks to Denali National Park, we also learned from John about many different subjects, from specific tree species found in the boreal forests of Alaska to the origins of the name Mt. McKinley.
When we arrived at the park, John was happy to help people get photos wherever and whenever they wanted. We went on a short snowshoeing walk in the park, getting nice views of Denali in the distance! Note: the roads deeper into the park are closed during the winter, but luckily the weather allowed for nice visibility. During the walk, John made sure to slow down the pace when the terrain was getting too difficult for the group -- especially those with prior injuries or other conditions. At the end of the walk, we had some nice hot drinks before the drive back.
All in all, I had a bunch of fun! I'd highly recommend the tour, especially with the Northern Alaska Tour Company and John.

Our guide took us to many places prior to going into the park. Interesting information about Alaska and the history of native population. The park is amazing in the winter. Snow everywhere. Go to do snowshoeing and that was a blast. Even saw the mountain, which is not always the case. Many times, the peak is in the clouds.

We went out with Sabrina. She is very knowledgeable, friendly and experienced. She drove very smoothly, and gave us a lot of introductions on the local history, culture, ecosystems, plants, animals, etc. The snowshoe hiking was also pretty interesting. In the winter months, you can really feel the solitude and enjoy the wonderful view inside the Denali national park. Depending on the weather (especially snow) conditions, you may not be able to drive very far into the park, but still, this experience is incredible. Highly recommend this tour to those who love nature.
Response from Host, Mar 2023
Thank you so much for taking the time to share with others your experience .. and to help them know what they are going to see and experience in the winter. Many visitors do wonder why they should go in the winter.... And you shared the wonderful reasons why- thank you.
Jeanne_B, Dec 2022
Long drive and did not get to snowshoe hike in the Park. Only had 30 minutes in the woods. Long drive for 30 minutes. Mtn and Neanna stop was nice and high light of the trip. Old church was cool
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Dear Jeanne,
Thank you for taking the time to share information with us. We would like to invite you to call us so we can learn more about your experience to know why what you are sharing took place (by calling us we can know who you are, when you traveled, and the guide -- so we can use your specific feedback to learn more about how we didn't live up to your expectations and work with our team) Not saying what you experienced isn't what happened, but since it doesn't quite match what we set out we want to learn if there were circumstances to be aware of or learning opportunity for our team.
Thank you again for joining us and best wishes for a happy new year!
