Pickup time will vary depending on the daylight hours available. The general premise is to have scenic views during daylight and to reach the Arctic Circle right around sunset. This allows for possible sightings of the aurora on the entire trip back to Fairbanks. Upon pickup we'll head to the gas station to grab whatever snacks you may require, use the latrines, and then head out into the north!

An incredible experience for our family. Ian was an excellent guide- very comfortable car for the five of us, made great conversation, super knowledgeable and had excellent driving on the Dalton Highway. This was such a unique piece of the planet to get to visit and we’re grateful to Ian for making our journey safe and enjoyable from start to finish!

Amazing trip. Super comfortable and safe ride with a great guide. Ian is versed in Alaskan history, wildlife, weather and so much more. He’s superb driver, with fully equipped car. When talking in CB radio with truckers on the road he shows respect and kindness. We had great music for our ride and he didn’t mind when we all started singing along. It was best carpool karaoke. Ian is a good singer too.
The trip passes many different eco biomes. Very interesting and never boring.
Accommodating, comfortable, safe, entertaining. I would highly recommend taking a tour with him.

Ian is good driver, provided comfort on safety with his experience and very familiar with the journey to Arctic Circle. The journey to Arctic circle passed through the enchanted forest that is low in visibility and icy road. The road is muddy and slippery after rain in past days however Ian controlled the vehicle very well. It is remote highway with no network and basically rely on wakie talkie and satellite phone. We heard the road is dusty during summer and icy during winter. Here we experienced muddy and icy routes. We stopped over at Yukon camp which is clean and tidy and a must stop over after a long drive. When we stepped into his car we wonder why the car is kind of dirty however after completing the tour the whole car was in brown color and muddy. Arctic circle exploration through Dalton highway is really once in a lifetime experience and private tour provided the flexibility though it is expensive. Luck is not with us as there was no northern light and low alert that night.

Ian was a very good guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the different sites. We asked questions about different things we saw and he was very informative. Very friendly and accommodating. He was sorry the weather was not cooperating for us the see the northern lights due to the clouds and rain. He did point out the fresh snow that was on the top of some of the mountains.

This was a great trip whole family enjoyed. Our tour guide Ian was awesome he is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions be it plants, animals and places. Drive in the Dalton highway is once in a lifetime experience. We couldn’t see the Aurora because it was cloudy other than that it was a wonderful experience.

Ian was fantastic. Told great stories, had a play list of classic rock songs and made sure we saw all the sites.
I also appreciated the respect he showed for the trucks on the road. He always used the CB to ask to pass when the trucker said it was safe and ready.

Unfortunately as an owner operator, there will be times when I'm unable to take people north due to illness. As a disabled vet there are a few times a year when things get bad enough it's not safe enough for me to drive.
I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay here in Alaska.

We had a great trip to the Arctic Circle and back. The stops on the way up were nice; they were windy and cold, but that was no surprise. Lee was helpful and informative and helped keep the long drive pleasant. The trip back was excellent. We were fortunate enough to be driving back during the lunar eclipse. We had a couple of unscheduled stops when the sky was relatively clear to see the aurora and eclipse.

Ian Lee was our private guide. He picked us up at our hotel and our first stop was the gas station for snacks. There aren’t many places to stop on the way.
We had a safety briefing and began our journey to the Arctic Circle. Ian was very knowledgeable and entertaining during the tour.
We stopped at several markers along the way for photos and to discuss history. We stoped at the Yukon Camp for a bathroom break, souvenirs, and a snack. We ordered our dinner to be eaten on the way back from the Arctic Circle
We stopped to take photos of the Alaska Pipeline, at the Dalton Highway sign, and at the final destination, the Arctic Circle sign. We made it there a little before sunset for photos. On the way back, we stopped several times to get photos of the Northern Lights. They were stunning!! We went back by the Yukon Camp to eat dinner and then went ice fishing!! Ian had set some lines out and we went out into the frozen Yukon River to check them. We got to see the process of checking the line, assessing the situation, and retrieving the fish. It was extremely cool! We stopped a few ore times as the Northern Lights became more active.
It was a wonderful experience for the entire family! I highly recommend this private tour!

We had the tour of our lives with Ian! We loved his expertise, his friendly manners, his willingness to make our trip unforgettable and his attention to safety! Every experience will be a little different due to weather and an unpredictable aurora but this trip was truly amazing! And Ian has a great playlist too!

Ian was a great tour guide! Very knowledgeable and a safe driver on the icy roads. He kept us entertained and had a great music selection! He was also good at spotting the Northern Lights, and he knew of great places to pull off to view them.

Ian is incredibly knowledgeable and helped us learn about a variety of topics throughout the tour; From ice spires to freezing fog to local wildlife and trees to solar wind to aslakan history and the pipeline to driving on ice to extreme weather survival to a good selection of music along the drive. He had extensive answers to everything we asked and made the trip go by quickly.
He was patient with our 2 kids and allowed time for stops and sledding and photo ops.
Ian is safety conscious; comes with a lot of experience on the Dalton and drives with a lot of care and gear.
Highly recommended adventure and definitely the way to see the artic circle (not in a large group van).

The trip itself is an amazing experience but thanks to our tour guide Ian Lee made the trip an unforgettable time. He is very knowledgeable about the places we came across the trip, and he has a way to explain to make it very interesting. His vehicle is the best for this kind of trip. Ian had to cancel due to a blizzard warning. We were unable to go. He did a good job a communicating this. He offered to take us around Fairbanks to see Northern Lights but did our own things instead. Only reason it was a 4/5 is because I had to pick a rating and could not fully evaluate. But I would definitely try and schedule again in the future.

Our guide, Ian, is a young man with exceptional knowledge. He was a very careful driver and all in the family enjoyed being chauffeured to the Arctic Circle. Clean bathrooms are sparse, but Ian stopped for us to use the restroom at a lodge along with way. Good tour overall

We recently embarked on an unforgettable Arctic Circle trip in Alaska, and our guide made the experience absolutely phenomenal. From the moment we started, his knowledge of the region’s history, wildlife, and unique geography brought the journey to life. A little bit disappointed that we were not able to see full-blown aurora. Definitely would recommend to others looking for this experience!

The Arctic Circle expedition with Ian was absolutely fabulous! We took the trip on Thanksgiving day. The entire trip was very well arranged and professionally conducted. Ian picked us up from the airport and after a brief stop at the hotel to drop our luggage and at a gas station to pick up some snacks and drinks, we were on our way. Ian was sure that were briefed on the safety instructions including the fact that there was a satellite texting device on board in case it was needed. There was also a CB radio which Ian used to communicate with the other truck drivers on the road to ensure that others knew of our presence on the highway when he deemed it necessary when turning around corners and going up steep slopes. We made multiple stops along the way and Ian explained the topology and geography of the region and was courteous when we had questions. Since it was Thanksgiving day, he made sure that we had food available at the dinner stop (Yukon River Camp) that catered to our dietary requirements. On the way back from the Arctic Circle, we were chasing the Aurora and Ian made frequent stops along the way to make sure that we did not miss them. He went beyond the time allocated for the tour just to make sure that we were completely satisfied with the tour. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Ian! We hope to be back.

This was the best trip we have ever taken!!! Ian is an phenomenal guide. His military background and his knowledge of the roads made for a safe and secure trip. He communicated well with the truckers on the road to ensure safety at all times. His vehicle is well maintained as well. He is knowledgeable on so many subjects it made the trip interesting. He pointed out so many different things including the wolf we saw. We did see the norther lights and he pointed out what to look for. We stopped several times to view them. He even sent us the pictures he took. I would take this trip again with him or any other trip in a heartbeat. He did not disappoint us at all! We went early April 2024

The Alaskan landscape is breathtaking. Driving the Dalton Highway is an experience all of its own. Add to that a rainbow at the Finger Mountain, it was magical. But the icing on the cake was the bull moose standing in the road on our way back! Our guide, Ian, was incredibly knowledgeable and ensured our experience was a once in a lifetime adventure.

Ian is a very informative guide with a thirst for knowledge. We had about a 12 hour day with him, and the conversation never stopped. We learned a lot about Alaska, life in Alaska and the flora and fauna. I am an avid photographer, he went out of his way to give me photo opportunities. He is a safe driver and carries all need equipment to keep his passengers safe. I recommend him as a guide and driver very highly.
