My husband and I enjoyed this excursion! The location was changed rather last minute (advertised it was possible), but Viator reps were reachable by telephone and got us to where we needed to be in time for the excursion start time. However, others were not so lucky. Because of having to wait an extended time for others who did not get the location update, some gave up because of the delay it took to get everyone to get to the alternate launch destination.
The guides were extremely friendly and accommodating. The excursion was a "bucket list" for me, and was thrilled to have yet another.pleasurable Viator offering!

Disappointed the concept was cute but nothing like the pictures. We barely seen anything bioluminescent except the little jelly’s. If I knew we would barely see it I wouldn’t have booked it. Plus we got bit up by mosquitos so bad definitely not worth it sorry :(.

Seeing the bioluminescence was a great experience but our guide was difficult to keep track of and didn’t engage with the group often. The majority of the tour consisted of us sitting and waiting for further instruction, it all felt a bit lazy.

Had to call office ahead of time and spoke with Lindsay who was so helpful and caring. Logan and Bob were amazing tour guides! They were able to accommodate the extra help needed getting in and out of kayak for my friend who was on crutches. They were friendly, funny, and knowledgeable and definitely knew their way around the lagoon. I went on a kayak tour in Key West in March and the experience was not great because the guide was no where near the level of these guides' customer service, friendliness, and care. Could not recommend more!

You will get wet. But the amount depends on you. Easy paddling so almost anyone can do it. Bring bug spray.

We did the 8:30 PM tour, which kicked off just before sunset—perfect timing. The first 30 minutes were spent paddling under a stunning sunset, and about 45 minutes in, we started to see the bioluminescence begin to appear—faint at first, then growing brighter and more magical as the night went on. We went during a new moon, which is one of the best times to go since the darkness really makes the glowing effect stand out.
Our guides, Bryce and Savanah, were fantastic—super friendly, knowledgeable, and laid-back. They shared tons of interesting facts about the area’s wildlife and plant life, which really added to the experience. One of the highlights was when they let us hop in the water at a special spot—such an unforgettable moment. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and fun adventure.

Mike was simply sensational. Even tho we were late he received us w a big smile and exceptional professionalism. Made us laugh w jokes throughout the night and feel comfortable. We didn’t see any bioluminescence, they should have told it’s not visible. Pictures are not real, waist of time and money. We traveled 7 hours to experience.

These people are SCAMMERS and LIARS.The pictures posted by them are either edited or fake. I booked a tour with them at new moon night to see bioluminescence, callled thier office to confirm the bioluminescence but we didn't see any bioluminescence and when I called thier office they just straight lie and say that there was bioluminescence, like I'm blind or lying.
I'm adding the photo to confirm the location, time and the fact that there was NO bioluminescence.
So please stay away from them and book through some better and honest operators, then hopefully you won't return disappointed like us.

Do not do this!!!
We kayaked a long 2.5 hours to see NOTHING! IT WAS HELL.
I would like a refund. There should be a guarantee to see bioluminescent activity for the price of $150. Not ok.
I am 120 pounds and 28 years old and fit and that was a miserable trek across a lake to see nothing. No showers they let you leave soaking wet and sandy and the tour guides were quite rude.
Also lots of bugs.
Do not go to this tour I don’t recommend.

If this tour had been advertised as a "Sunset Indian River Kayak Tour," I would give it 4 stars. Unfortunately, it was misleadingly labeled as a "Bioluminescence Tour," despite there being no bioluminescence at all. I booked this tour as a birthday surprise for my friend, and we drove 2.5 hours to get there. From the dock, we paddled to Horseshoe Island and waited, hoping to see the bioluminescence. Instead, the most exciting part was spotting dolphin fins in the distance. We enjoyed paddling around and watching the sunset, but when we asked a guide about the bioluminescence, we were informed that the 8:00 PM tour rarely sees it. We ended up paddling to a different spot near the coast with loud generator noise, still without any bioluminescence. To add to the disappointment, a guide pressured us to give a five-star review before sending us back. There was no explanation for the lack of bioluminescence or offer of a refund or alternative tour. When I inquired about a refund upon landing, another guide simply directed me to apply at the office. That's precisely what I intend to do.

Bob, Katie, and Trevor did great! We had an awesome time, I was slightly nervous being out on a kayak that late at night but felt super safe with them. Would recommend doing as later tour to see more of the bio but the tour was great.

Waste of time, money, and effort. We went on a new moon which should have been the best night. They took us to the most lighted part of the island. You could hardly see any bioluminescence. Originally the guide said we’d go to the darker side where we would actually be able to see it and they didn’t.

I had booked a few excursions for our visit to Florida.. this was by far our favorite. The peace of kayaking out at 10:30pm to the little island, seeing my kids play in the water and the beauty of nature made this so memorable. I've already recommended it to everyone I've spoken to.
