It was honestly a phenomenal night. The bioluminescence in the water was so magical, felt like straight out of a fairytale. My friend and I also got lucky and was able to witness a rocket take off that night. Our tour guide was very informative and reassuring. It was a pleasure having him as our tour guide Overall it was great experience, would definitely would do this again.

Terrance and Javier are most excellent tour guides, knowledgeable, fun, and helpful. If you take this tour I hope that they are your guides, the experience was vastly enriched by their knowledge and care.

Terrence and Javier are very knowledgeable and gave us a fantastic tour. I highly recommend this experience.

There was no bioluminescence in the water. Apparently there isn’t any this time of year and they knew it. So we just kayaked in the dark. They sold us an experience that they knew we would not get. They sold us a higher price clear bottom boat that was much more uncomfortable with lower dysfunctional seats knowing there was nothing to see through it. They sent us to the wrong parking lot with no one there and no cell service. We had to leave it to find cell service and call to check on location or what was wrong.

Terrance was great told us in detail every part of our Kayak trip my wife and I and grandkids had a great time

My family planned our entire vacation based on the moon and the date that would be best to see the bioluminescence. We booked in March and vacationed in September. A few days prior Hurricane Helena hit (only a few days later another hurricane hit). On the evening of our tour it was thunder and lightening along with a down pour of rain. We had a party of 16 and half were under the age of 17. After unsuccessfully attempting to reach this company through the Viator app I found a cell number. I contacted the instructor when we got to the end of a bridge with flooding while in a mustang. I inquired about the reservations and he was beyond rude. He spoke down to me, yelling and accusing me of lying. He said to contact them the follow day regarding rescheduling (I had an entire week of vacation left). I was unable to do that as he continued to accuse me of lying and was EXTREMELY rude to another adult in our party. I requested a call from management but have not heard back to date

Hello Lacie,
Unfortunately, you booked thru a 3rd party, so due to thier policies, they do not put our business contact info on thier website, as you would just bypass them and book direct, which conversly , would have probably negated any of the aforementioned. However, we do provide you w/exact instructions to our launch sites, so there should have been no reason why you were not there for your tour, regardless of the weather conditions prior to your tour w/us. We get a lot of people telling us what our weather is while we ARE ALREADY ON SITE, AND THEY ARE NOT. That is why we ask all travellers to arrive, rain or shine, and we will determine the if the tour will depart based on the weather at the launch site at the time of your tour.
You would not have found a guides phone number on your tripadvsor email, you found the after hrs contact number. The operator can see real time who has been checked in , on site etc. For you to say there was flooding that prevented you from arriving as scheduled, was a dishonest statement as the guide and other guests were already on site, with no one impeded by the "flooding" you suggested. We have a lot of guests who make the trip out to us , even through inclement weather, we also have some who would just rather not travel in the rain and say, for instance, that roads we have other guests trelling on, are flooded, when in fact they're not. We asked you to call us the following day to reschedule your tour, that technically you were'nt eligable for since you were a no show. We do not typically offer a reschedule to a no show group, regardless of the excuse. We ask you to arrive rain or shine, you did not. Admittedly you didn't call for your raincheck either, so you lost the option to reschedule. being rude, and not bending to your will are not the same. We will not be told what we will do, by any guest, who can't have to decency to arrive as scheduled, while citing flooding as an excuse, when other guests and our guides are on site. There is was no reason to contact you further. When you book a tour w/ a company that asks you to arrive , RAIN OR SHINE, and you do not, while citing rain as an issue, that is a deal breaker. We understand our guest are travelling from over an hr away, in the afternoon in Florida, which is peak time for rainfall. That is every afternoon in Florida, and that same weather blows by, by the time our tours beging departing. If it doesn't blow by you are issued a raincheck that does not expire. That is the policy. A policy you had the opportunity to read, and understand, prior to committing to the reservation. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify, for all those who read these reviews.
Thank you for choosing Florida-Adventurer!

P.S...It's definitely worth the money! You should read the 1000's reviews from all the guests who arrive as requested, and make thier tours!

There was a very bad storm with lightening. The road was flooded and we were unable to attend. We tried calling the number provided over and over and received no answer. Being 80% of our party were children we did not feel it was safe to attend. We turned around and continued to attmept calling. The man finally answered and refused to reschedule us or refund us. We lost over $1,000 as a result. He called our family liars and stated he does not refund for bad weather. I do not recommend this not only for the poor refund policy but the mistreatment from the owner.

Looking for more bioluminescence, but we did not go in peak season, had nothing to do with our tour guide Emmett, he was great! He was knowledge, kind, funny all the things you for in a guide.
We'll be back in peak season and definetly recommend anytime of year

Clint was very good at what he does, The Bioluminescense were outstanding! We loved the trip!! With Bug Spray on we didn't have issues out on the water, but on land the bugs were bothering us.
John_G, Jul 2024
It was really amazing - beautiful clear night, so many stars and the bioluminescence was gorgeous. Our guides, Clint, Emmet, and Andrew were really nice, very helpful and provided a great experience.
Dana_S, Jul 2024
The guides were knowledgable and fun. We saw lots of bio activity, got to see a rocket on the launch pad, tons of shooting stars, our group had great energy and our guides were awesome. I recommend the clear kayaks! Thank you Andrew, Clint & Nick!! See you again soon.

Our trip was canceled due to the bad weather..we applied for a full refund but until today we have not received anything 😒

The Staff is unprofessional. I am not interested in a rain check from a company that operates this way.
Frances_G, Apr 2024
Due the place the tour was being held there weren’t enough bars for my phone to receive their calls texts. The phone literally read SOS. They weren’t able to let me know their truck broke down and they needed me to meet at a secondary site.
I’d arrived an hour early (7pm).
I decided to leave 8:24pm at which point two texts came in that explained.
By the time my phone was up enough that I could respond it was 8:36pm. which was when they let me know there was no one able to meet me anymore. Not their fault not mine. I’m out $85 though. Bummer.

It was a beautiful experience that we had viewing the bioluminescence! The tour guide Clint was super kind and amazing!
Donna_P, Sep 2023
The bioluminescent was definitely something different and cool to experience. When I initially booked and paid through this app I was charged an additional $9 international transaction fee from my bank because this app is based in London not the United States as portrayed. This was NOT disclosed at the time of purchase.
The tour guides seemed a bit disorganized, it took forever to get people checked in, they had no cell service and had to walk around with phones raised high to try and see a roster for the tour. This should have been downloaded ahead of time. We booked the 11pm tour and we were 30 mins late getting into the water. The clear kayaks were the most uncomfortable kayak I have ever experienced. Although it was cool to see the bioluminescent through the boat we found them to be very uncomfortable, fairly easy to paddle but we felt we were sitting way too low. Our tour guide talked too much, we didn't have a lot of time to paddle around and experience other creatures. It was expressed by the tour guide they really needed good reviews because they get a pay bonus and she was poor. She also pushed for tips. The tour leaving late meant returning late. We did get our 90 minutes but it was mostly spent floating and listening to our guide talk. We did not get back to the hotel until 2am after showers we did not get to bed until 3am.

We did the clear kayak bioluminescence tour with Brian and Clint last night and it was just amazing. My husband and I took our 21-YO twins and we were all just amazed with this excursion. Brian said this was near the end of the season for the bioluminescence, however, we thought it was on full display with lots of active fish jumping out of the water. It was very buggy out but this is just unavoidable since the season for the protozoa is June-Sept/Oct. Be sure to pick an evening not near the full moon for the best experience.
Asef_K, Aug 2023
Our guide was Brian, he was great. We had a great time. I would recommend it for everyone who loves nature. We saw the water light up throughout and fishes jumping in and out, clear sky with all the stars. I don't recommend if you're scared of going out in the ocean at night. You would also need some amount of stamina for paddling.
Naman_S, Aug 2023
Got denied clear kayaks, instead they offered regular kayaks, which is available for much less.
Further, they won’t refund, they’re giving me a rain check. I live in India, would definitely take the 20 hour flight back just for the rain check 🤦♂️
BE ADVISED GUYS

We were able to see not only the bioluminescence we got to se dolphins, manatees, shrimp, crabs, an alligator, and got to learn about the history of the place. It was more than I could have asked for. Our tour guide Katie was amazing she even let us stay out a little longer so we can see more wildlife. She was awesome.
Kate_S, Jul 2023
Wonderful to see the bioluminescence and the jumping bioluminescent fish were an added surprise. Our tour leader Katie as well as Brendon and Eric were terrific and we appreciated their caution about lightening!
PAULA_K, Jul 2023
Andrew and Sammi were very knowledgeable and very personable tour guides. We had a small group and thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We would recommend them to everyone and hopefully come back soon to bring others to enjoy.
Iryna_S, Jul 2023
Bioluminescent was amazing. Magic night on the water! Great and knowledgeable guides! It’s definitely worth seeing!
Grace_W, Jul 2023
By far one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen! We went with one of the later tours which made it 10x better. Our tour guide Bowser was very knowledgeable and made the experience awesome. If you ever get a chance to do this, do it it will be with worth every penny!
Amir_W, Mar 2023
Having done this in the bioluminescent lake in Puerto Rico, this was rather disappointing because, since the moon was almost full and, therefore, we hardly saw any bioluminescence.
In the past I have seen other companies have night tours only available on dark nights (they will not book tours on or around a full moon). I wish this company had done the same.
Bethany_Y, Dec 2022
Highly recommend going in warmer months and checking the lunar calendar before booking! We went beginning of Dec and on a night the moon was really bright. Both of these affected how much we were able to see and we did not see much. We didn’t get to experience the plankton glowing at all, but luckily our tour guide, Tyler, caught some comb jellyfish and we saw those glowing. Tyler was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area we were in. We learned a lot and although we didn’t see much glowing the kayaking was incredibly peaceful in the dark with the city skyline in the distance.

My colleague and I were looking for a "team building" activity for a large company based in Jacksonville. Needless to say this company was an epic fail when it came to customer service upon arrival, given a kayak without a Rutter..but were not advised that the kayak did not have a rutter until the entire group was in the water. What should of been a fun and informative adventure turned into anything but fun. Steering the kayak was very difficult and put us at the back of the group. Then along came one of the guides "Jackie" She was so soft spoken and helpful. When she called "Josh" the lead guide on the radio for suggestions since we were struggling to keep the kayak steering straight, his response to Jackie was " just stay behind and coach them'
We were not children that needed to be coached...we needed a proper working kayak. When speaking with Josh after the event he blamed it on his boss...he stated his name is Josh ...call him and that was it!
I can guarantee that we will be looking for a company who actually keeps their equipment PM'd in addition to teaching their staff what service recovery is...DO NOT USE THIS GROUP!
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Hello,
You seem to have booked a clear kayak tour w/us. The rudder you mentioned is thing piece of plexiglass that is basically useless. The tandem kayaks require you work as a team to make the kayak paddle straight w/or w/o a rudder/skag. Clear kayaks are notorious for for not paddling straight because they sacrifice hydrodynamic for visibility. They're basically floating gathtubs that do not track well. We only offer them because they're all the rage. We give an orientaion prior to launch expolaining that teamwork is required and that the paddling must be snycronized or you will zig-zag along the canal, regardless of rudder. The canal also has a current in it, that will exascerbate the zig-zagging if not paddling in sync. This seems to sound like exactly what happened. We have people break off rudders almost daily from going thru shallow waters. We never recieved a call from you, just a review. Servic reciovery is easily attained when you call the company to express your displeasure, as opposed to leaving a review only. Had you called, ever, we would have immediatley refunded you and offered a raincheck to come back out on us.
Mandy_S, Jun 2021
It was an amazing trip! Guy and Chance were great guides! We were able to even see 2 manatees during our night tour! It was great! The mosquitoes were no joke, but definitely worth it for the experience!
