Tour was canceled without notifying me.

Lynda_Z, Nov 2024
My tour was canceled when I got to where it was to begin. I was not notified and annoyed to have planned my vacation day around this. I asked the Architecture center to credit my VISA. They could not as I Booked via a 3rd party. I rebooked another tour later that day. By then it was much colder and very windy. Tour guide was very good and tour was great. But I opted out at the end as it was getting dark and much colder to walk around. If you want an architecture tour go to the canter or website and book direct. Third party booking creates problems . Most of all I was annoyed that tour was cancelled when I got there. The architecture center is definitely worth a visit.

the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and also very personable. Donna answered all questions I had and presented relative information in an architecturally chronological way.

Modern skyscrapers

A challenge during Covid 19 restrictions, the tour guide found good ways to share her excellent information and make us comfortable.

Response from Host, Jul 2020

Thanks, Jud for recognizing our efforts to operate in these challenging circumstances. One big adjustment we have made is to limit group size to 6 plus the guide, and require all to wear masks. Glad you enjoyed your tour!

Cold but doable

Betsy_D, Dec 2018
Despite the cold weather, our docent provided a fascinating tour of modern architecture in the Loop. He was knowledgeable and entertaining, so we hardly felt the cold at all! Great choice.

This tour was organised through the Chicago Architecture Foundation and the guides are volunteers so some are better than others. We found it extremely interesting but you would need an interest in architecture to enjoy this tour.

Ann U, May 2013
Being a native, I've seen all of these building before. I think anyone from out of town would be more impressed. Due to logistics, we weren't able to get close to these buildings, and there was quite a bit of repetition between the historic skyscraper tour and this one.
