If you have the time for...

If you have the time for a full day outing, do not miss this experience. We traveled by charter bus (very comfortable, easy to find) to Montserrat. The tour began in the bus with a very informative, engaging, and funny talk about Barcelona’s history by one of the guides (Leslie). We arrived in Montserrat and were then guided to the train to go up the mountain. I have a bit of fear of heights and claustrophobia, but found myself not caring at all as I was chatting with another couple. It’s maybe 12 minutes up the mountain. We then were guided to the monastery by our wonderful guide, Delph. Delph constantly ensured we were within her sight (it’s quite busy!). She would tell us exactly what corner to turn, for example, in case we were separated. She was kind and forward thinking. The basilica itself is simply stunning. I think it’s one of our favorites now just for its breathtaking simplicity and solemnity. We then took the bus (not the train again) down the mountain to the winery. We had a plate of cheese and meat and bead and little pastries. In the cave. The wine was ok, we did consider buying a case but the shipping to the US is about $20/bottle (and that’s not the price of the wine!). Delph gave us a wonderful history lesson of the winery itself, built in 924. We then bussedd back to the Barcelona train station and were there on time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

What a great experience we had with Joris

Joris was a wonderful guide. He showed us the great sites of Barcelona, he was so knowledgeable and engaging and an absolute pleasure to be with. He went so far out of his way to make us feel comfortable, educated and even showed us a great restaurant to have lunch. Super experienced highly recommend him for your tours of the future he is an asset to your company. We feel extremely lucky to have had him as our guide.

Fifi, our tour guide, was incredible. The knowledge about the architectural history and religious allegory/symbolism was so expansive. We learned so much about the Basilica that it made us appreciate the beauty of the architecture even more than we otherwise would have. A must do!

Xavier the tour guide was amazing!

Golden Hour Goosebumps

Jorge was an excellent guide to a most incredible experience. The golden hour is the optimal time to see the basilica and it did not disappoint. Jorge was both knowledgeable, friendly and spoke fluent English. He went out of his way to explain the history and design features. It was a goosebumps moment when the sun broke through on an otherwise partly cloudy day to shine bright through the stained glass. Of course he made sure he took our photo from the prime spot as a keepsake. Jorge is the best tour guide ever!!

Fabulous Cooking Class in Barcelona!

Our group of five (three adults + two teenagers) attended a fabulous paella class at The Gab Lab. We were joined by one other group of five (making a total of 10 aspiring chefs), so the class was small and accessible. We were led by Matteo and Simon, both of whom were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to a seafood stall at the local market, and feasting on sangria, tapas, paella, and dessert while learning to prepare the same. We will be recommending The Gab Lab to friends and family who visit Barcelona!

Our guide was very...

Our guide was very informative. He kept the pace of the tour timely with a few breaks to enjoy the views. He is a local, so his perspective on the park then vs. now added a lot to the tour. My kids and I genuinely enjoyed the tour. The park is beautiful. The tour begins at one of the highest points in the park, so after one set of stairs, the rest of the tour is downhill.

Amazing Tour + Guides!

Fabulous tour guides and experience overall - covered a lot of ground, but still had the opportunity to experience 3 wonderful towns. More fast-paced (you are covering 2 towns in 8 hours after all) but the guides (Ana and Diana) were knowledgeable and engaging with their history and stories. If you are visiting Madrid but want to see a bit more of Spain, definitely book!

Must Do This Excursion with Oriol and Nacho!

This tour was the absolute highlight of our time in Barcelona and we owe it to our tour guides Oriol and Nacho. They were so funny and personable yet very knowledgeable! They were able to answer question we had about Barcelona and its history and they even provided us with an in depth list of recommendations for restaurants, bars, view points and more! We started with a walking tour of the gothic quarter which was absolutely amazing. We then took a break for a snack/restroom break and proceeded to a beautiful view point and park guell via bus. They allowed us an hour of free time to explore the park and then we headed for lunch which was absolutely delicious! We finished off at Sagrada Família where we said our good byes and explored the basilica on our own. I couldn’t recommend this tour more; do not leave Barcelona without doing this tour with Oriol and Nacho!
