Itinerary
Begin your day with pickup from your Barcelona hotel and travel by air-conditioned vehicle toward Girona, accompanied by your guide and a small group. On arrival, set out on a guided walking tour through the medieval Old Town, passing key sites such as the Roman walls, the cathedral, and the historic Jewish Quarter.
From Girona, continue toward the Costa Brava. Stop in the hilltop town of Pals to walk through its preserved streets and take in views across the surrounding countryside before continuing to the coast.
Arrive in Calella de Palafrugell, a former fishing village known for its waterfront setting. Join a short guided walk to get oriented, then enjoy free time to explore at your own pace. You may choose to sightsee, stop for lunch (own expense), or visit nearby coves for a swim before regrouping for the return journey.
In the afternoon, return to Barcelona, with drop-off at your hotel.

It’s a long day, but very interesting. We’d been to Barcelona before, so this was a nice opportunity to see the surrounding areas. Pickup at the hotel was great. Our guide Tony was lovely.

Our guide was very cordial and was a good driver. He took us to a remarkably good little restaurant where I had the steak with mushroom sauce and fries. Highly recommended and relatively cheap!
The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that although a few of us asked him to speak slowly, it wasn’t in his ability.💁♂️ The sights of 13th century buildings and the emerald clear water of the Mediterranean was phenomenal.

Really fantastic tour covering many scenic and photographic sites. Lunch on your own in a small medieval town was fantastic as was the gelato stop. Manu the driver and guide brought great energy and was very authentic.

First of all, we contacted the company directly to provide this feedback and still 3 days later we have not received a reply. Because of this we feel it is necessary to provide a heads up to future guests.
We, and others on the tour, feared for our safety due to the driver's ability. He crossed the middle line into oncoming traffic numerous times. At one point, another guest spoke to the driver harshly and even offered to take the wheel.
A lovely relaxing day of vacation, it was absolutely not.
We hope to hear from the operator for further explanation before providing further feedback and reviews.

This was a wonderful experience. Manu was the best tour guide I’ve ever had had. He’s very energetic and knowledgeable, and made sure to answer all of the questions. The overall tour was very detailed and fun, and Manu made sure to bring everyone together and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day together. I highly recommend, this was truly an unforgettable experience!

We had a wonderful day on the Girona and Costa Brava small-group tour. Vincent was excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and a great guide throughout the day. We would also like to thank our driver, Joaquin, for the prompt pickup and comfortable ride. He made getting around effortless and enjoyable.
Vincent showed us around the cathedral, taking us along beautiful paths and sharing fascinating stories at each stop. Calella de Palafrugell is a place you truly have to experience in person. The breathtaking views of the beaches and Mediterranean Sea were unforgettable.
My wife and I had a fantastic time and highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. Thank you again to Vincent and Joaquin for making our day so memorable!

We had an absolutely amazing day trip to Girona and the Costa Brava with Chema! He was friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish.
Chema did a fantastic job of showing us the highlights, sharing interesting stories and giving us a great insight into the history, culture and beauty of the region. His warm and welcoming approach made the day even more special.

This tour was surprisingly wonderful! The description is accurate, detailing transportation and brief introduction to each of the stops… But the sites are quite captivating. I don’t think pictures can capture the uniqueness of each. Something you just have to go to see for yourself. Medieval towns and corridors, delicious lunch and swim in Costa Brava, you can’t beat it.

It was great to have a small group tour after coming off a cruise ship where ship excursions can have up to 45 on board a bus. This was only 8 in a cozy van. The guide Chema was very knowledgeable and informative when we stuck to the promoted itineary. The only part of the itinerary that was followed was starting in Girona. The Girona part was very in depth/informative. However we never heard about the Arab Baths. As for visiting Village Medieval de Pals, we weren't taken there. We went to Monells, a medieval restored village of private residences. Chema gave us details about it. Being sort of private there wasn't anything commercially to do there. Again, it wasn't on the stated itinerary. THen we went to a restaurant (lunch) that wasn't on the itinerary. Way too much time was spent there (at our expense), of course shortcutting tours of actual destinations. I see upon comparing the promoted itinerary that lunch could have been taken at Calella de Palafrugell, but it wasn't, nor was there any "tour" of that area. We were pointed in the direction of ice cream, some restaurants, and the beach. The only part of the tour that was true was Girona. There were no coastal Mediterranean views along the way. I would recommend as long as the shortcomings are understood.

We overall really enjoyed our day trip to Girona and the Costa Brava! A huge shoutout to our tour guide, Gaspar, who was amazing—incredibly knowledgeable, kind, welcoming, and kept us entertained throughout the entire journey. We also had a great group of people traveling with us, which made the experience even better.
Girona: Fantastic experience. The history is rich, and the streets are filled with charm and great shops. My only feedback here is that I wish we had a bit more time and more frequent breaks to explore Girona at a more relaxed pace, as it felt a little rushed.
Costa Brava: Visually, the coastline and beaches are stunning. However, this part of the trip was a bit disappointing due to lunch logistics. We had a 2-hour break here, but none of the beachside restaurants were tourist-friendly or could accommodate our party of 4 without prior reservations. As a result, we missed out on enjoying the beach views and ended up eating at a random spot further back just to get a table.
Tip for future travelers: If you want to enjoy a nice lunch with a view during the Costa Brava stop, make sure to book a restaurant reservation in advance!
Despite the lunch hiccup, it was a memorable trip. Thanks again to Gaspar for being such a wonderful guide!

The experience in Girona was exceptional. Our guide, Gema narrated in detail which was greatly appreciated. Visiting the Jewish section was important to me and I was intrigued with the history and minute details provided by Gema. The visit to the second town was anticlimactic and unnecessary. I was anticipating the visit to Costa Brava and was sidetracked with a much longer than necessary stop for lunch. To me the highlight was a destination tour not a two hour lunch break. The view of the sea at the Costa Brava area where we stopped was lovely, however my expectation was more of a sandy beach with more food beverage and shopping opportunities.
I would suggest to the tour company to equip the guide with a microphone so his/her commentary while driving can be heard by all the passengers. We were in a nine passenger van with three rows of seats. Sitting in the third (back) row we unable to hear any ofthe guides comments.

Manu is a superb guide. And trip was great. Communication before precuse. Very knowledgeable. Afterwards sent a list if hus personal recommendations for sites , restaurants etc to visit so thoughtful and useful

Our guide Vincent was very knowledgeable of Girona and the other surrounding places. He was very attentive to our needs. He made the experience very enjoyable with adding humorous touches at times and knew when to take the pictures that we wanted.

A great road trip for the family and an opportunity to explore history, culture and beautiful beaches with a great guide. Direct pick up and drop off from the Hotel. Comfortable and cooled transport. Plenty of time to see everything offered. Our guide Nuri was extremely knowledgeable and hospitable.

Prompt pick up by our driver/ guide Luis. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and great service! Luis was very accommodating and helpful. We had two young kids - age 2 and 4 - and they provided a car seat and booster seat, which was awesome! The van was clean and comfortable. The itinerary was exactly as described except we didn't go to Pals, but we're totally fine with that because everything else was amazing and we had a great time! HIGHLY recommend this tour!

From the very beginning, Tony provided exceptional service. He picked us up from our hotel promptly at 8:30 am and safely dropped us back around 5:30 pm, making the entire day completely stress-free.
Throughout the tour, Tony was enthusiastic, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. He shared fascinating stories about Girona’s rich history, its medieval heritage, and how the city has evolved into what it is today. His explanations were informative, engaging, and delivered with a great sense of humor.
Our visit to the beautiful medieval town of Pals was another highlight. Tony showed us the best viewpoints and photo spots, making it easy to capture those perfect Instagram-worthy pictures while also explaining the town’s history and unique character.
The afternoon at Calella de Palafrugell was the perfect contrast—a charming Mediterranean seaside village with crystal-clear water, a relaxed atmosphere, and plenty of time to enjoy the beach. Some guests even had the opportunity to go for a swim.
Tony also recommended an excellent local restaurant for lunch, along with some delicious regional dishes, which added another memorable experience to the day.
With only five people in our group, the tour felt relaxed, personal, and flexible. We never felt rushed and had plenty of opportunities to ask questions and enjoy each destination at a comfortable pace.
This was one of the most enjoyable day trips of our one-month European journey. Thank you, Tony, for your outstanding service and for creating so many wonderful memories. We would happily join another tour with you in the future!
