Itinerary
Begin your day with pickup from your Barcelona hotel and travel by air-conditioned vehicle toward Girona, accompanied by your guide and a small group. On arrival, set out on a guided walking tour through the medieval Old Town, passing key sites such as the Roman walls, the cathedral, and the historic Jewish Quarter.
From Girona, continue toward the Costa Brava. Stop in the hilltop town of Pals to walk through its preserved streets and take in views across the surrounding countryside before continuing to the coast.
Arrive in Calella de Palafrugell, a former fishing village known for its waterfront setting. Join a short guided walk to get oriented, then enjoy free time to explore at your own pace. You may choose to sightsee, stop for lunch (own expense), or visit nearby coves for a swim before regrouping for the return journey.
In the afternoon, return to Barcelona, with drop-off at your hotel.

Our day trip to Girona and the Costa Brava was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Spain, and that was entirely thanks to our incredible guide, Toni.
From the moment the tour began, Toni’s passion for Catalonia, its history, and its culture was contagious. His knowledge was exceptional, but what made the experience truly special was how engaging and personable he was. He shared fascinating historical stories, local traditions, and hidden gems that we never would have discovered on our own.
Girona was breathtaking, and Toni brought its medieval streets and rich history to life with captivating storytelling. At the Costa Brava, the stunning coastal views were unforgettable, and he made sure we had plenty of opportunities to take photos, explore, and simply soak in the beauty of the Mediterranean.

Pick up was on time, the van was comfortable and clean. Our guide, Tony, was professional, knowledgeable, and interesting. We had 3 stops: Girona, Pals, Costa Brava. All beautiful and scenic and lovely. Overall it was a fun day out.

It was a fun day! Several nice places to see away from the city. Matt was our guide and he was phenomenal. He had a great speaking voice and was super easy to understand as he navigated us through the day and gave of the history of the areas we visited. Everyone in our family of 4 enjoyed the day.

Luis was great and the tours/destinations were great. My only suggestion would be to consider the amount of time you’ll be in the van (4+ hours), which isn’t a problem. The issue we experienced was that they put 8 clients along with the guide/driver. That’s 9 people in a 9 person van - which doesn’t sound like a problem… unless you’re in the front seat. My son and I sat in the front seat with Luis. My 5’9” son had to sit with his feet in front of my seating area (at an angle) the entire trip because there’s no room for his legs in the middle front seat. Personally, I feel that the tour operator should cap the limit at 7 clients so you’re not resulting in someone sitting in the middle front seat where there’s very limited legroom. A shorter person or child would likely be ok in that seat, but definitely not the average adult. Other than that, the tour was great!

We had an absolutely wonderful day on this tour to Girona, Monells, and Calella de Palafrugell. Each stop was beautiful and unique, making for a perfect way to experience the charm of Catalonia beyond Barcelona.
Our tour guide Chema, truly made the experience exceptional. He was friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating history and local insights throughout the day. They also made sure everyone was comfortable, kept the tour well organized, and took great care of the group from start to finish.
Girona was full of history and stunning architecture, Monells was a charming medieval village that felt like stepping back in time, and Calella de Palafrugell was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean coastline.
If you’re looking for a well-paced day trip with breathtaking scenery, interesting history, and an outstanding guide, I highly recommend this tour. It was one of the highlights of our vacation in Barcelona!

Great tour of Gironas old town. Our guide Marcel was excellent. He took us around the cathedral through a beautiful path and gave us time to walk around. Then he took us to Costa Brava, calela palafrugell with breathtaking views of the Med and had great seafood meal overlooking the Med. A wonderful day thanks to Marcel.

Beautiful areas , the car ride was a little long but worth it . I advise to take bathing suits .
I would have liked the tour guide to provide more explanation and history . He did in Girona , but in the other places he dropped us off and picked us up only.

The driver drove super fast, he always cut lanes; it's frightening experience! He is very impatient driving and honks other cars if they are in his way. He did not give us enough time to take pictures. He pushed us and pushed us in order to finish early, I guess he would like to finish early for his day!

The tour led by Marcelo was great. Being picked up and dropped off at the hotel was very convenient. It was wonderful to visit sites like Girona and small, Medieval towns along the coast. The sea was breathtaking!

Honestly, I was torn between 3 and 4 stars for this one. We enjoyed most of the stops made on this trip (even though we missed the Shame stairs in Girona due to a filming taking place that unfortunately blocked access) but were highly disappointed that Pals was eliminated from the trip entirely in favor of a random village that our guide, Chema recorded a commercial in or something years ago? I had booked this trip in the hopes of seeing Pals (had even cancelled another tour on this day in favor of this itinerary). Instead, we toured this village and then had lunch in another spot that the guide seemed to know the owners of. It wasn't terrible but I was pretty upset personally as it deviated from what was expected.

We had a great day out with our guide Hernando on a small group tour. Girona is a beautiful city and Hernando shared a lot about the history of the town. Visited some nice nougat/chocolate shops on his recommendation. On our way to Costa Brava we had a quick stop for delicious vermouth/sangria drinks at Peratallada where Santi hand made the drinks! We also had a great lunch at Can Joan. Unfortunately it was raining by this time so we only had a quick drive through Costa Brava. Definitely worth a visit in future.
