I was expecting so much more . The place was full of cigarette smoke . The theater was old and quaint . Music was too loud .

Hi Linda, we think there’s been a mix-up and you’re referring to a different theater. Our venue is family-friendly, and smoking is, of course, strictly prohibited. There’s no way there would be cigarette smoke in our theater. Furthermore, the theater opened in 2020, and we completely renovated it in 2023 and again in 2025. It is by no means an old theater; it is entirely modern and has been completely renovated.
Also, since our venue is small and intimate, we don’t need microphones—we perform acoustically. So we don’t understand why you’d say the music was loud; they’re live musicians, there are no speakers, and the music isn’t loud.
For these reasons, we believe there has been a misunderstanding and that you are referring to another venue, not the Centro Cultural Flamenco Madrid.

This is absolutely lacking in any passion or energy. The flamenco is about 15 minutes, the rest is awful singing, and a Spanish guitar. The performers barely get out of 2nd gear. It was week 1 of Strictly, without the fun. A complete waste of money.

We are sorry to read your comments, although we strongly disagree with your description. Our show is a flamenco performance in its full form, where dance, singing, and guitar are all essential and inseparable elements of the art. Dance appears in three of the five parts of the show, and all elements are integral to the experience. Reducing it to “15 minutes of flamenco” reflects a misunderstanding of what flamenco actually is. All of our artists are experienced professionals who perform daily with dedication, passion, and respect for this tradition. The structure and intensity of the performance are intentional and faithful to the art form, not designed as a staged or entertainment-driven spectacle. We regret that the experience did not meet your expectations, but we stand firmly by the quality and authenticity of what we offer.

Why the stage is so narrow? it would be better if the artists have more space to dance and perform.
If there is some introductions about the content of what the singer and dancer is going to play. That would be better for communication

There was a mixup with our tickets - I had modified the time, and their system didn't pick that up. But the front desk staff was very accommodating and ensured that we were seated for the show we intended to see. The show was great! We really enjoyed the flamenco, and there was a fun treat at the end of the show that I won't reveal here.

I suspect this is bit less "traditional", but the guitarist is quite good and excellent dancing. Best part was the group dynamic at the end, felt like we were being included in the show.

We really enjoyed the show. My 2 year old niece also thoroughly enjoyed it. She was cheering a bit and mentioning the word 'guitar' during the show. We were asked to take her out. I I feel that if it is marketed as a kid friendly show, then my 2 year old niece should not be punished when she is cheering. We mentioned how we were unhappy with what happened and the staff corrected and allowed us back in.

Children are always welcome at our venue, and we generally have a high level of tolerance for them — we love seeing young audiences discovering flamenco! However, we do ask parents to understand that if a child, as is perfectly natural, becomes restless or noisy, we may need to ask them to step outside so as not to disturb other guests and the artists. That said, we are always flexible, and as you mentioned in your review, once children are ready to return, they are welcome to come back into the theatre without any problem. Parents are free to enter and exit the room as needed, and we truly appreciate everyone’s cooperation in maintaining a respectful and enjoyable atmosphere for all. Best regards!

Very disappointing. Too much, if you can call it singing. Sounded more like moaning. Only two women did flamingo dancing. Not anything that we were expecting.

I don’t know if this was your first introduction to flamenco, but if so, it may help to know that cante flamenco (flamenco singing) is a very particular and demanding art form. It requires great skill to sustain the voice through its many tonal variations — often within a single breath. We understand that, to someone unfamiliar with it, the sound can sometimes be mistaken for a moan, but in truth, that very quality is an essential part of flamenco’s emotional depth. This music is born from feeling, and its expression reflects that intensity. Not what I was expecting. Thought it would be a larger venue with more dancing as couples. Very talented artists. I suppose my mistake, didn’t realize it was in a cultural centre Non disappointed but wish it had been more seductive and met our expectations.

The center is very small and intimate. It’s amazing how the artists function with limited floor space. We really enjoyed the passion and individuality of the dancers, singer and guitarists. The only distraction was the audience members who brought young children (this is not a show for them) and those that disregarded the requests to not take pictures. While the staff member did his best to stop them, his constant “prayerful” request to stop photographing the artists proved distracting. We tried to move beyond that and enjoy the short show provided

Claramente, el show no es recomendado para menores de 4 años, ya que en una sala íntima y en acústico, cualquier ruido puede perturbar el ambiente de cercanía.

This is great if you want a true Flamenco experience. It has not been "glamorized" for tourists. We enjoyed the experience, the small theater, and not being pushed to buy drinks and dinner.

The show was good but my 1 star review is for the check in staff who lied to me that the show is only for kids above 4 years. When I booked on Viator, kids aged 4 and above were being charged and instructions said infant sit on lap. Despite that, he said my infant needs a ticket and charged 20 euros. Since we didn’t have time to argue before show start, we paid and watched the performance but lying to charge us was unacceptable

You purchased your tickets through Viator, but on our official website the information about ticketing for children is clearly stated -although we’ve now made sure to update Viator as well to avoid future confusion. To clarify: children under 14 receive a discounted rate, but all guests, regardless of age, require a ticket. There was no intention to mislead, and we’re sorry it came across that way. Not much of a "cultural experience ". The venue is tiny - tiny room, tiny stage, tiny seats. Other than a short prerecorded video in the beginning, it was all in Spanish. There was no explanation of the songs, or the dancing. The 2 dancers (man and woman) mostly danced alone, only together on the tiny stage a few short times. For this being advertised for tourists, it would have been much more meaningful to have an explanation of the songs and dances.
The guitar player was great. 5 stars for him, one for the overall experience.

Our goal is not to turn flamenco into a packaged product, but to offer a space where this powerful art form can thrive with freedom and vitality. Regarding explanations: flamenco is not easily explained. The performances are largely improvised — we never know in advance what lyrics will be sung or how the dancers will respond. Much like jazz, flamenco is rooted in connection, rhythm, and spontaneous expression. We understand this may not be for everyone, but we remain committed to preserving the authenticity of the form. Beautiful show. But I don’t recommend with young children because it can be difficult for them to sit still and not make noise for an hour as needed for this show.

It is an intimate venue, the seating looks to only hold about 50. You get a close view of the artists. The room was a bit warm and two of our family were very uncomfortable. The show itself was great, interesting and fun.
