Very informative cultural experience!
Very informative! My friends and I learned a lot about the history and culture of New Orleans through its burial practices. Our tour guide Taylor was very informative and receptive to questions. I could also tell they've been receptive to previous reviews on the heat, as they had tents set up at intervals in the cemetery for shade and some sprays of cooling water; they also handed out paper fans. All the people in the Basin St Station, where the tour begins, were also super kind and helpful!! We got rained on at the end of our tour and when we got back, a woman there had gotten towels for us!! Very sweet and thoughtful people :)

Elaine was fantastic!!!!
Elaine was a fantastic storyteller, and we really enjoyed the Adults Only Ghosts, Crime & Voodoo Tour. I expected a little more ghosts and voodoo, but our tour leaned more heavily into crime and New Orleans history—which ended up being fascinating. What really set Elaine apart was the historical context she brought to the stories. She backed things up with newspaper clippings and other visuals that she actually projected onto walls as we walked. Such a cool touch! There was so much interesting information that I honestly wished I had taken notes because I wanted to go home and dig deeper into several of the stories. The pace was also perfect. It was a casual walk and never felt rushed. We had plenty of time to ask questions, discuss things, and actually enjoy the experience. The only hiccup had nothing to do with Elaine. I booked months ago using a card that was later stolen and deactivated. A few days before the tour, I received an email saying the payment hadn’t gone through and providing a link to update it. When I followed the link, I was told I needed to rebook with a different payment method, so I did. When we arrived three days later, both reservations were still active—and I’ve now been charged twice. Hopefully that’s easily corrected, but the booking process could definitely be clearer in that situation. That aside, Elaine absolutely gets 5 stars from us. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the history come alive. If you enjoy the darker and more unusual side of New Orleans history, you’ll leave with plenty of new rabbit holes to explore!

Spooked!
For someone who tends to believe in what I see and know, this tour had me spooked…Which means the tour guide did her job! She did a great job explaining NO’s history, and how the city was built upon the dead. We hit the St. Louis Cemetery, and another one for the Masons. I throughly enjoyed the tour.

Fans of the supernatural have been flocking to New Orleans for generations. The city was famed for its voodoo traditions and cemeteries even before Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, and many of the city’s oldest buildings, particularly in the French Quarter, are reputed to be haunted. The best way to uncover the mysterious side of the city is by joining a New Orleans ghost tour, which will take you to some of the spookiest corners of the history city while a guide regales you with legends. No need to be scared!
