What are people saying about Kauai
Audrey_S, Mar 2026
If I could give it 100 stars, I would! Highlight of the trip!
This app was incredible. I’ve been to Kauai twice before and still found it super invaluable. Not only did it give great instructions as we were driving (once more accurately than Google maps!) but it also filled the stretches of driving with fun facts and stories and restaurant recommendations. I was really curious how it was going to work way up north or feel in Waimea canyon since I know I have no cell service there — I’m happy to report that the app continued to work great (I suspect because we had to download content for it in advance that it was able to work seamlessly offline).
This app was legitimately my favorite part of the trip, and that’s not to say we didn’t do a ton of other amazing things, but just how impressed with the app I was. I would 100% recommend this app to anyone.

If you do one thing in Kauai, go hike with Charlie
We had the pleasure and true privilege for Charlie to guide us up to the rock face of Pu’u Konanae. We’ve hiked with Charlie before and he asked us if we wanted to go on door 1.5 (if you go with him you’ll understand the door rated system) and we wouldn’t turn down an opportunity for a new adventure. The hike took a few hours navigating interior Hawaiian lands used as hunting and dirtbiking paths. His knowledge, humor and good vibes carried us up through the canopies to views looking south and eastward. We ended with a cool dip in a river we crossed on the way in, and a quick drive back out of the land. I’ve been coming to Kauai for 17 years, and only came across Charlie’s hikes in the last few years. They are the most social hikes I’ve ever done here—the interior is the last bit of untouched Kauai, and Charlie’s knowledge of its histories is worth the experience alone. Don’t hesitate, get some good bug repellant, long pants, and go.

Amazing Dancing, History & Food
What an experience! The food was wonderful but the entertainment was more than any words could express. They provided deep cultural insights, history & knowledge you felt you were on the journey in history. The language is beautiful the vendors were wonderful & the dancing was beautiful. We loved every minute of it and would strongly recommend.

Great tour worth the money!
A great introduction to Kauai, its history, geography, its culture and customs. John is a very confident and safe driver and known by locals wherever he goes. He will show you places and things that only the locals know about - things that can’t be found in the guide books or in Shaka itineraries. He is not of Hawaiian ancestry, but he was born and raised in Hawaii and has raised his children here. Very knowledgeable and will customize your trip around the kinds of things you enjoy seeing and doing.

A Perfect First Day on Kauai
Our tour of Kauai with Noah was absolutely wonderful and the perfect way to begin our time on this magical island. The views of Waimea Canyon and the Nā Pali Coast were breathtaking, and Noah made them even more special by weaving in engaging anecdotes about the island’s history and what life is like as a local.
Noah was also incredibly thoughtful and flexible, offering different options to keep our three teenage sons engaged, which we truly appreciated. One of the absolute highlights of the day was seeing sea turtles, an unforgettable experience for all of us.
The ukulele music was loved by everyone and added such a warm, authentic touch to the tour.
Thank you, Noah, for creating such a welcoming, informative, and memorable first day on Kauai. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the island.

We had the most amazing...
We had the most amazing time on our private helicopter tour. We’ve been in a helicopter a handful of times before - including NYC and St. Lucia. This was far superior! To see the amazing waterfalls. Fly into a canyon. Over the ocean. It was breathtaking and unreal. And our pilots were so knowledgeable and kind! Worth every penny.

A Must-Do Tour in Kauai!
We only had a short time in Kauai, and this tour was exactly what we wanted to see. Elizabeth was so kind and friendly. She picked us up and got us to the canyon first because there was a chance for rain that day. It ended up being a beautiful day, and Elizabeth made sure we got to see it all! We stopped for lunch at The Lodge and it was the perfect authentic lunch we had been wanting. She even surprised our son with a birthday cake since she knew we were celebrating with this trip! We felt so thankful to have selected this tour with Elizabeth because she knows so much of the history of Kauai and the Waimea Canyon. Highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Kauai!

HIGHLY recommend
This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. TJ was quick, responsive, and friendly. He had an Uber pick us up from the cruise port within 5 minutes of me texting him, and he had our FUV(s) charged and ready for us when we arrived to his lot. The adventure itself was once in a lifetime! He took the time to make a Google Map with pins to take you to his recommended destinations. We went snorkeling at Poipu Bay, saw the sights, and had lunch at Kauai Poke which was up the street from the last stop (Shipwreck Beach). When we got back to his lot, he called us another Uber who took us to the port again, within 5 minutes! Truly a memorable experience. Thank you TJ!

Great way to start our trip on Kauai! Highly recommend!
We had a great time learning all about Kauai from John on our canyon tour. We started our day being picked up from our hotel in Poipu and checking out Poipu beach where we saw a monk seal coming on shore for his day of basking in the sun. We then ventured out to the Kauai Coffee Company where we were able to taste a bunch of coffees that are made on the island.
After the coffee pick-us-up, we travelled through a couple of small towns before heading up to the Waimea Canyon. Words do not do justice for the incredible scenery that we were able to experience. From a old canal waterfall running through the red Mars-like dirt, to overlooking the ocean from the very top of the Kalalau Lookout, the views were stunning!
After the canyon, we headed back to Waimea and had lunch at Island Taco (HIGHLY recommend).
We stopped at a tiny little town of artists and Lilo and Stitch where we walked across a very old suspension bridge.
Our final two stops along the way were at the spouting horn and back near our hotel where we watched sea turtles playing in the surf!
It was a great day all the way around. John was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and we highly recommend this as a way to start your vacation in Kauai!

Great time hiking with Zane
My wife and I had a great time hiking to see some waterfalls and the Queens bath with Zane. We learned about some of the local plants and flowers of the islands. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to get out for a hike to see the beauty of Kauai, plus have some great pictures taken by Zane as lasting memories!

Breathtaking aerial views of Na Pali Coast, Kauai
Koah was our pilot during our flight through Kauai.
He provided us with valuable details about the history of the island and he was reassuring about what to expect during the flight. He made us feel safe.
This was an incredible adventure to say the least. The Na Pali coast is a must see. Aerial views were absolutely spectacular and breathtaking!
We have used Viator in the past and they do not disappoint with great tour offerings and customer service.
I highly recommend this tour offered by
“Wings over Kauai” but most of all flying with pilot - Koah.
Thank you.
