Chase from Tukaway was a great guide. From the moment my friend and I arrived, he was so friendly and personable. We started out chatting in the yurt then he introduced us to his dogs one by one, and you can tell that he loves them all! We had great conversation throughout and cared about the small things like getting out to clean off the windshield several times or taking photos of us and the dogs. I got to spend time with the dogs afterward, then we had hot drinks inside the yurt before we went on our way. I highly recommend booking with this coop but especially with Chase!

Wonderful time learning about mushing

Laura_T, Oct 2024
The experience was wonderful. Our guide was a former mushing competitor with his own team of dogs he still trains. While we missed the fall foliage, the snow was beautiful to travel through. We were provided special shoes because of the weather. I learned so much. Our guide was great about answering all of my questions.

Get out of the large tours and enjoy getting to know the musher and their dogs.

Highly recommend. This business is a co-op which means different mushers run their own dogs. So they know the dogs and their personalities as opposed to people working for a large kennel and showing you the kennels dogs. It is a more private and intimate experience. Watching the dogs get excited to get strapped up and take off running was the best. These dogs LOVE and live for this. Really cool to watch. It’s also located off of the Chena Highway, which is a beautiful drive. Chase was our tour guide and we are so grateful for his time, knowledge, and friendliness.

Definitely recommend mushing cart ride!

I had the best experience ever! My guide was very nice and funny. He told us a little bit about himself and his animals. he introduced us to each one of his doggies. They were all very cute! Took us through the beautiful forest but before our ride, he gave us blanket so we wouldn’t get cold. it was an amazing experience for my first time. During our amazing ride, he was nice to help us take pictures. After the ride, he took us inside to his little cabin which looked amazing and was warm. He offered us some hot chocolate, and tea which felt amazing after the nice ride.

This was awesome!!!

I didn’t know what to expect. That being said, our tour guide was awesome. He explained how the dogs were being raised, introduced us to each dog, talked about his history and experiences. All this beforehand. We then loaded up and went for a beautiful unique ride through the woods. An amazing experience we’ll never forget.

Don't miss this one!

Exceptional Tour

We had the time of our lives with this first-time experience. From the start of the tour, Laura provided us with backgrounds on each dog, their behaviors and passions. We can clearly see that these dogs love what they do from their enthusiastic barks and wagging tails. We loved every minute of our tour. Laura is an expert and passionate guide. We recommended this tour to anyone who'd love to try it.

Wonderful adventure!

This was a wonderful experience. We learned so much about mushing from Chase, our guide and dog owner. We had a very enjoyable ride through the beautiful snow covered woods by incredible mush dogs. Stopped along the way for Hot Cider and hot chocolate. Dogs were very friendly and enjoyed interacting with them. There is a Mongolian made Yurt at the site — very interesting to see and cozy to warm up in. An experience not to miss! Thank you Chase!

Amazing!! Fun!!

My wife and I were celebrating our 8yr anniversary. So we decided to do a mushing cart experience. Laura (Lauren) did an amazing job! She made us feel like we were part of her family. Her pups were so well behaved and she knew exactly which one would act up during the ride. Having her communicate with her team was so cool to watch. My wife and I enjoyed every bit of it. Titan was my favorite. He and I bonded as soon as I got to the place. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. Make sure to bundle up and wear face mask and glasses.

Dogs just love to run!

Chase was so great and we loved hearing the story of each of his dogs. My daughter and I had a great time and I really enjoyed seeing the yurt as well!

Beautiful scenery, friendly dogs, great tour guide!

Eric_R, Sep 2023
The team of dogs is incredible! 10 friendly pups who love pets and licking faces, pulling a 2,000 lb. UTV through the beautiful fall foliage. Chase was a VERY knowledgeable tour guide with a great sense of humor, friendly demeanor, and shared his fascinating dog sled stories.

Fantastic excursion!

Heather_B, Oct 2022
We absolutely loved the dogs! The ride was beautiful and fun. The guide went above and beyond. If you are getting a ride out there, schedule your ride back in advance.

Great experience.

Carla_K, Oct 2022
Our great host, Chase, taught us much about his dogs, the many different kinds of huskies (these were Alaskan huskies) and what it means to run/race with them. The optimal temperature for them to run/race in is 0-30 below! Each had unique fun names ands responded to his commands almost instantaneously. The stories he shared about his fav dog (Tuck, sadly departed a year ago) were both hilarious and heartbreaking. A very enjoyable experience, highly recommend this company and it’s offerings.

Really cool experience

Katherine_C, Nov 2021
Laura was a great guide and really made the experience memorable by telling us all about her dogs and explaining dog sledding to us. She also let us interact with the dogs a lot outside of just sledding, which was really fun. The forest we went through was stunning and we loved hearing about the area. We also really enjoyed the hot cider and blankets they gave us, it made the trip very cozy.

The Best Dog Sledding Trip, Experience, Company

Robert_P, Oct 2021
When I booked the adventure, it was supposed to be a fall foliage trip. Luckily, Alaska lived up to her name an surprised us with an early snow. This was the most beautiful outing I've ever been apart of. Laura, our musher is AMAZING!! I don't have enough words to describe her knowledge, love of her dogs and excitement to share it all with my husband and myself. The dog team is super loving and enjoyed interacting with us, even let me put the harnesses on them and gave me some sweet puppy kisses. Oh, I can't forget along our trail the owner of the company had hot cider waiting for us to pickup and enjoy while experiencing this beautiful winter wonderland. If you ever come to Fairbanks, this group of dog musher's are a MUST do and if your luck you'll get Laura. Another thing, they have a cool yurt where you can warm up after your ride and buy souvenirs if you would like. We got a coyote pelt, four foxtails and t-shirts. The experience from start to finish is the best!!!

Awesome

Our guide Laura was awesome, she was great and her love for her dogs was amazing. It made my heart happy to see someone who loves her fur babies as much as she does. I would highly recommend these folks. it was the most fun I had the whole week I was in Alaska.
