This Mt. Rainier day trip begins with a pickup from select hotels in Seattle. Then prepare for a narrated, scenic drive.
Stops can vary depending on then weather and conditions, but can include Longmire, the visitor center at the southwest corner of the park, to explore their museum and National Park Inn. Visit Christine Falls, with one of the signature views in Mt Rainier National Park (look for the bridge). Then walk along the Nisqually River up to Narada Falls, considered the most popular waterfall in Mt Rainier State Park.
Then it’s off to the pinnacle event of the day: the view at Paradise, which is 5,400 feet (1,646 meters) above sea level. Purchase lunch here and take in the incredible view of Mt. Rainier and the valley below. Be on the lookout for wildlife.
During the wintertime, an optional snowshoe adventure is possible, if conditions allow. During the summertime, simply enjoy the scene at Reflection Lakes, which provides one of the most iconic views of Mt. Rainier.
Then it’s back down the mountain to Seattle.

- The seasons, weather, and elevation partially determine what you’ll see on your tour. During the weekdays, mid October-April, there are limited food services available in the National Park. Customers will have an opportunity to purchase food en route. This was an unforgettable experience! Lucas was a phenomenal tour guide with his knowledge and entertaining stories that had all of us engaged. The views were impeccable and you have the flexibility to go and get the most out of the experience at each of the stops. As a solo traveler, this was one of my favorite tours I have done ever. Highly recommend for anyone, especially those who want to experience nature and have a core memory!

This was a whole day experience. Our guide, Cory, did an amazing job of driving, narrating, and taking photo breaks. The Park is gorgeous, and there are various levels of hiking available.

William picked us up (and dropped us off) at our hotel in downtown Seattle. He advised on where to get food, drink, etc to avoid lengthy waits in the park. Excellent tour where he took us to many great locations in Mt Rainier park while avoiding majority of the crowds throughout. He also was flexible, for example stopped when we finally saw the peak as we were exiting the park to let us take pics. Very enjoyable and highly recommend.

I highly recommend this tour, and if you're lucky enough to have Cory as your guide, you're in for a fantastic day! Everything was well organized from start to finish, and it was a great way to experience the Mt.Rainier National Park without worrying about the logistics.
Our guide, Cory, really made the day special. He was funny, incredibly knowledgeable, and shared interesting facts and local history throughout the tour. He also went out of his way to be helpful and made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves.
The tour was well paced, with enough time at each stop to take in the scenery and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate as it was extremely foggy and the views weren’t great, only reason why I gave four stars. Otherwise we had a great time!

Absolutely Outstanding Mt. Rainier Day Tour, 5 out of 5 Stars!
We booked a Mt. Rainier tour with Customized Tours for Father’s Day, June 21, 2026, and it was hands-down one of the best guided experiences we’ve ever experienced. From start to finish, everything was perfectly executed, relaxed, and incredibly enriching.
Our guide Joel was exceptional. He was in the middle of training a new associate, Randy, yet he juggled both roles flawlessly — delivering expert commentary, ensuring everyone was comfortable and safe, and still making the day feel personal and unhurried. Joel’s deep knowledge of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding area was immense. He shared fascinating facts about the geology, history, wildlife, and ecology that brought the landscape to life. We never felt rushed at any stop; instead, we had plenty of time to truly soak it all in.
The itinerary was fantastic and packed with highlights:
- Stunning views of Mt. Rainier itself
- Multiple breathtaking waterfalls
- Mirror Lake
- The Nisqually Suspension Bridge

Mark was our guide and he was funny and informative. You can tell he loves his job and is a proud local. He took us to waterfalls and many short stops on the way up to Paradise for photos opportunities. Someone wanted cherries so Mark even made a special stop for one of the guests.

We made many stops to see waterfalls and to get the good photos. John was knowledgeable, personable, and kept us all on time. I laarned so much on the tour and didn’t have the burden of driving around all those curbs. For what we saved on gas and car rental, this was totally worth it!

Lucas , our driver & tour guide is the best. He's very knowledgeable & we learned a lot from him. He's very efficient, professional & accommodating. He took very good care of all his passengers' needs. He's very good with his job & a strong positive asset to Customized Tours & Viator. The bus is clean but somewhat warm but Lucas did his best to make it more comfortable. Overall, I loved this tour & highly recommend it . I'll tell all my friends & family.

We hopped on a comfortable shuttle bus with 20 others. Spent 12 hours together with James Gunn as our driver. He was informative and kind. Definitely a value option to experience Mt. Rainier from Seattle.

Awesome tour that went thru Mt Rainier! Kevin was a fantastic tour guide who provided a lot of history along the way(he even assisted with photos). We were given plenty of time on the tour to take everything in. Nothing felt rushed and Kevin's expertise made the experience top notch. Thoroughly enjoyed the stops at the quaint shops prior to entering Mt. Rainier and after leaving. This tour is a must!

Very good experience.Driver and guide was from the area and was very knowledgeable. It was very cloudy and rainy . So some locations were hard to see.Never got a great view of the top because of the weather. Would advise to go after June unless you are looking for cold rain and snow.the snow was cool.

This tour is extensive. The views and areas to hike and see are amazing. Our guide Cory was informative and fun. He even took us to a lodge where they had tasty treats to buy, a fireplace to enjoy and best hot chocolate ever. The ice cream stop was also worth it...home made and delicious. I even got to sit a bit with Big Foot on the porch. If you like the out of doors and exceptional scenery...this is a must do trip. Lynn Strout from Kansas...no mountains here.

James was a great guide and made sure everyone had a good day in Rainier. Lots of cool info about the park along the way too. Tour definitely worth doing especially if you don’t have a car with a couple of chances for some longer hikes in Paradise and Longmire together with some shorter stops. Stopped at a supermarket on the way there to buy cheaper food than in the park.

Absolutely amazing trip and tour. Wonderful views of the mountain, waterfalls and forest. James, our tour guide, was so thoughtful and knowledgeable about the history and facts about the park.
