Frustrating day out

Rosemary_C, Jul 2026
The schedule for the day was ambitious and needs to be reviewed. None of the ‘pass by’ places were worth the time stuck in unmoving traffic, which left us frustrated trying to understand the reasoning behind it. Without them more time could be given to exploring places of interest.

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments regarding your recent tour with us. We genuinely value your feedback, as it is essential in helping us review and improve our services. We are sorry to learn that the traffic conditions on the day detracted from your overall experience, and we would like to kindly clarify a misunderstanding that may have arisen as a result. Our scheduled itinerary included only one designated "pass-by" point — Chinatown. On that particular day, a citywide cycling event in Vancouver led to multiple road closures and unavoidable detours. The resulting traffic congestion in the downtown area was significant, and our guide, in an effort to keep you informed and make the best of the situation, took the initiative to point out and speak about various landmarks and areas that were visible along the detour route, or located nearby. We understand now that this well-intended commentary may have inadvertently created the impression that these were all planned stops or official "pass-by" sights on our itinerary, which they were not. Please accept our sincere apologies for any confusion or frustration this may have caused. The guide's intention was solely to ease the mood during the long delays, and it was never meant to replace time that should have been dedicated to the tour's featured attractions.Your feedback is extremely helpful, as it highlights the importance of clear communication with our guests, especially when unforeseen circumstances require adjustments on the road. We will be reminding our guiding team to clearly distinguish between scheduled itinerary highlights and impromptu commentary prompted by traffic or detours, so that such misunderstandings can be avoided in the future. We hope that despite the disruptions, you were still able to enjoy some memorable moments in Vancouver. We would be truly grateful for the opportunity to welcome you again and provide a much smoother and more rewarding experience.

The General Inconvenience of Travel

L_F, May 2026
The first guide on the trip unfortunately didn't have the proper documentation to get over the border (left it in his other pants) so we had to wait 2 hours in a parking lot while waiting on the backup guide to get there from Vancouver. This cast a pall on the rest of the trip, which the second guide handled okay. I'm sure Vancouver is very nice but I felt the tour was then too rushed to really see it. That's a part of traveling! Afterwards, the first guide asked what our favorite part of the trip was, no one said anything but then one woman said "the wait in the carpark" which made me laugh out loud--he didn't say anything after that :). The second guide's name was Kim who did a decent job, considering it was supposed to be his day off, went to Gasworks, Canada Place, walked around Stanley Park and Granville Island-there is a very nice restaurant/bar place at the hotel that is on the water with very nice views, scenery. I think if we could have continued with the original guide (Phil) it would have been a much better tour....

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for sharing your experience in detail. We are very sorry to hear that the tour got off to such a frustrating start due to our first guide, Phil, not having his passport with him. The two‑hour wait in the parking lot was completely unacceptable, and we sincerely apologize for the disruption this caused to your trip. We are glad that Kim stepped in and did his best under the circumstances, but we fully understand that the delay made the rest of the tour feel rushed. We have already sent you an email with our compensation offer of $20 USD as a gesture of goodwill. Please check your inbox (and spam folder) for our message, and feel free to reply to us directly. Once again, we apologize for letting you down on this tour, and we hope you will give us a chance to serve you better in the future.

A great experience.

Epic fail

Sue_J, May 2026
Disappointed with tour. Not a lot of information provided and hard to understand driver. Not worth the time, money or effort. Marathon was on in Vancouver and driver wasn’t aware and needed to be with traffic exclusion areas

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that your tour experience did not meet expectations. Regarding the traffic situation in Vancouver, we have since confirmed with our tour guide that an international marathon took place in downtown Vancouver on that day, which caused severe and unexpected congestion. While the guide did his/her best to navigate around the affected areas, we regret that this impacted your tour experience. As for the commentary and communication concerns you raised, we have already reached out to you via our customer support channel to provide a compensation proposal. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused. We take your feedback seriously and will work to improve our guide’s awareness of local events and communication clarity moving forward.

Worst Experience EVER

Richard_H, Apr 2026
The absolute worst tour I've ever taken!! The guide was an hour late, never once introduced himself, got lost, did not speak English well and was very hard to understand. The tour was rushed and we were not even given time to eat lunch. We stood in line for the 4D Fly Over Canada experience only to be turned away with expired tickets provided by the guide - how embarrassing and frustrating. Concerns were escalated both internally and externally but to no avail. This was clearly a money-grab with absolute no regard for those wanting an enjoyable tour. Sad. Steer clear of this tour and this shady operator / company. Very disappointed that Viator didn't do a better job vetting.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear what you have experienced, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration and embarrassment you endured. Please allow us to respond directly to each of your concerns based on our internal investigation.1. We understand that on the morning of the tour, only one inspection lane was open at the U.S.–Canada border, causing significant delays. The guide had planned to arrive in Seattle by 8:30 AM, but due to the border congestion and morning rush hour traffic, he arrived at 9:15 AM. The guide called all guests to inform them of the delay and kindly offered to cover the cost of breakfast at a nearby cafe while they waited. Upon arrival, he apologized multiple times to the group. We regret that this situation occurred, and while the delay was largely beyond the guide's control, we acknowledge the inconvenience it caused. 2. We are sorry that the guide's communication did not meet your expectations. We will provide additional training to this guide to improve his self-introduction, clarity of speech, and overall guest interaction. 3. The guide originally planned a lunch break before the 2:00 PM "Fly Over Canada" show. However, the group collectively expressed a preference to have lunch after the experience. As a result, lunch took place between approximately 2:40 PM and 3:10 PM. The guide requested that everyone return to the meeting point by 3:00 PM to proceed to Stanley Park. You returned at 3:15 PM. While this did not allow time for a full sit-down meal, you were still able to purchase and enjoy lunch. We regret that this felt rushed to you. 4. Expired tickets for the 4D Fly Over Canada experience: We have investigated this matter thoroughly. The guide personally purchased the tickets in downtown Vancouver the day before the tour, as online purchase was not available. Unfortunately, the ticket agent issued tickets with the previous day's date. Due to limited parking and time constraints downtown, the guide did not double-check the tickets at the moment of purchase. When the issue was discovered on the tour day, the guide immediately contacted the manager and had the tickets corrected to the correct date (still for the 2:00 PM show). Therefore, you did not miss the experience. Nevertheless, we completely understand how embarrassing and frustrating it may have felt. We sincerely apologize for that distress. While many of the unexpected situations described were partially beyond the guide's control, we fully acknowledge that your overall experience was not smooth and did not meet the standard of enjoyment you rightfully expected. For the inconvenience and frustration caused, we would like to offer you a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill. Once again, we deeply apologize for the difficulties you encountered. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to investigate and respond. We hope you will allow us the chance to serve you better in the future.

Nice time

Janet_G, Feb 2026
My husband and I had a good time. There wasn't a whole lot of informative dialog; the driver mostly told us which streets were best for shopping and the ones to avoid. It felt like a shopping excursion to Vancouver. But the driver did well getting us there safely, especially given that it raining traveling over and back. He was kind and friendly, the van was just very quiet of conversation unless there were times being given for arrival at our 5 stops. All in all, we had fun. We just wish we would've heard more about the areas we visited.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your recent trip to Vancouver. We’re so glad to hear that you and your husband had a good time overall and that you felt safe and well taken care of by your driver, especially with the rainy weather. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words—he will be happy to know his efforts were appreciated. We also truly appreciate your honest feedback regarding the commentary during the tour. We completely understand your wish to have learned more about the areas you visited, rather than just shopping-related information. Our goal is always to provide a well-rounded experience that includes both practical guidance and engaging, informative content about the destinations. Please know that your comments have been shared with our operations team for review. We will use them to help improve the quality and consistency of the touring experience, ensuring that future guests receive more balanced and enriching commentary throughout the journey. Thank you again for your thoughtful input. We’re happy you had fun, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you on another tour in the future—one that’s even more informative and memorable.

Day Trip to Vancouver, BC

Check legal holidays before booking in another country such as Canada which observes Boxing Day on 12/26. Most businesses are closed.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for your feedback regarding the impact of local holidays on your travel experience. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by closures on Boxing Day (December 26) during your trip to Canada. We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. To prevent similar situations in the future, we will strengthen our pre-trip verification process to ensure that all itineraries are carefully reviewed against local public holidays and business hours, especially in destinations like Canada where holidays such as Boxing Day may affect operations. Thank you again for traveling with us and for your thoughtful suggestion.

Wouldn’t do again

Rachel_W, Dec 2025
My husband and I were the only 2 bookings so it ended up being a private tour. It wasn’t enjoyable. The drivers English was extremely hard to understand and her driving was terrible. It felt very rushed.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your private tour did not meet your expectations. We sincerely apologize for the language barrier with the driver, the driving experience, and for making you feel that the tour was rushed. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide. Your feedback helps us identify areas for improvement, and we will adjust our services accordingly. Thank you.

The drive to and back...

FANNIE_S, Oct 2025
The drive to and back were quite long and tiring. Making the ride worse was that the driver drove fast and rough. He went to gas stations to get gas twice during the tour which added more time to the tour. To our surprises was that the driver even had to help part of the groups to check in their hotel in Vancouver for their upcoming Canadian Rocky Mountain trip. We, the rest of the group, needed to wait there for more than 30 minutes. We ended up returned to Seattle around 9:30 pm instead of 8:00.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your recent tour experience. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you encountered during your trip and appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. We acknowledge that the return time being approximately 1.5 hours later than scheduled fell short of the standard we strive to maintain. Please allow us to address the specific points you raised: Regarding the driving, we have communicated your concerns about the speed and comfort to the driver to ensure a smoother and more consistent pace on future tours. Concerning the two fuel stops, the first refueling in the U.S. was for partial fuel due to a miscalculation, and the subsequent stop in Canada was necessary to complete the refueling. We recognize that this added to the travel time, and we are refining our planning procedures to minimize such interruptions. We also deeply regret the 30-minute delay caused while assisting other guests with their hotel check-in. While our guide aimed to assist non-English speaking guests, we understand this impacted the entire group's schedule. We are reviewing our protocols to better balance individual assistance with overall group timelines. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve. We have shared your comments with our operations team to enhance our planning and execution, particularly regarding schedule management and contingency planning. We truly value your patronage and hope to have another opportunity to provide you with a more seamless and positive experience in the future.

Traffic!

Vicki_G, Sep 2025
Mark did double duty but a good job guiding in two languages. Make sure before you sign up for this that they haven't thrown in an old couple who only speak Chinese and need transport and unending help. He even checked them into their Vancouver hotel. Vancouver is a beautiful city with a traffic problem.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent tour. We’re delighted to hear that you appreciated Mark’s efforts and his ability to guide seamlessly in two languages—we’re very proud to have him on our team. It’s wonderful to know that you enjoyed Vancouver’s beauty, despite the traffic challenges—it’s something we continuously factor into our scheduling to minimize guest inconvenience. Thank you again for your honest and helpful feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another tour in the future.

Good value

Patrick_S, Sep 2025
Great overview of Vancouver, seeing major sites and good food! One problem was wrong theater show. Very good overall though

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled you enjoyed the overview of Vancouver and the food. We sincerely apologize for the show mix-up — due to limited availability that day, only the FlyOver Iceland show was available at that timeslot to avoid a very late return. We appreciate your understanding and are glad you still had a great time overall!

Seattle / Vancouver 9/2/25 - Tour Guide Ryan

Natasha_S, Sep 2025
Generally the sites chosen were amazing. Ryan was an excellent Host / Guide. Great communication and updates from the moment the reservation was confirmed. He was punctual and the time for each activity / site was perfectly managed. He was also engaging and knowledgeable providing highlights along the way. Ryan offered water to each guest and even had chargers for our phones - I especially appreciated this consideration because of depleting batteries due to the volume of photos over a 12 hour trip. It was a relief when he offered different USB options!! In closing, the trip was worth every moment of the 12 hours dedicated to it! Thank you for an awesome experience! 🙏

It’s a long da - 12 hours...

Rick_S, Aug 2025
It’s a long da - 12 hours - but worth it if you’ve never been to Vancouver and know little about the city. Vancouver is beautiful, modern city set is a picturesque environment. Definitely worth a visit!

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your recent tour. We’re delighted to hear that you found the experience worthwhile and that Vancouver’s stunning scenery and modern charm left a positive impression! While we’re glad you enjoyed the overall experience, we recognize that a full-day tour can be demanding. We’re continuously working to optimize our schedules to maximize comfort without compromising sightseeing.Thank you again for choosing us to introduce you to this spectacular city. We hope to tour with you again soon!

Save Your Money

Jeremy_A, Aug 2025
Overpriced and under delivered. We were rushed from one stop to the next (why is a drive through of old Chinatown part of the itinerary?) and not given enough time at the locations that we actually cared about. Our guide didn’t add any insight to the journey and his driving was scary (we nearly rear ended 2 cars). This trip just doesn’t offer enough to justify the price.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

We sincerely apologize for the multiple failures you experienced on our tour. We are urgently investigating the driving issue with the guide and will take disciplinary action if needed. Your feedback about rushed stops and wasted time has been escalated to our product team for a full itinerary redesign. We will reinforce training for guides to ensure engaging commentary and respectful pacing. We value your feedback and hope for another chance to deliver the experience you deserve.

Not happy

Bernice_W, Aug 2025
Tour group was multilingual. Guide had long conversations with non-English speakers without translation. Did not expect a multi-lingual group. Two families were staying in Vancouver which required long detour to two different hotels to drop them off after an extremely long day.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you for bringing these important matters to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the frustrations you have experienced during your tour and appreciate the opportunity to address them.We regret that translations were not provided during conversations with non-English speakers, and we will require guides to provide English summaries of all announcements. We understand how the extended drop-offs added unnecessary fatigue, we will designate central drop-off points for urban areas.
