The set up was a little stressful (required downloading two apps while paused on a sidewalk), but once we got things downloaded and set up, it was a great tour experience! I would definitely recommend downloading ahead of time, but also why do there need to be TWO different apps?

Amazing history of Salem and all the Halloween costumes. So much to see and take in. Beautiful century old homes. I'm a big fan of Bewitched as I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Elizabeth Montgomery's statue was my favorite.

It way self help. A little bit confusing at first but overall informative. You get to have your own time walking at your own pace and be able to learn about the place, compared to being in a group and sometimes not even hearing the speaker if your at the back of the pack.
Would recommend but figure it out first before hand, but easy to navigate around.

At site 14 the tour booted me out and I couldn’t get it back leaving me with no map or narrative to get me back. I had to Google maps the armory to get back.

Never could get it to open. Waste of money. Tried off and on all day and never got the email you said I would get. Checked all folders in email accounts and got nothing. Even got the app and nothing worked.

Melissa, that sounds frustrating! Since you booked through Viator, the instructions might be in an email titled "Your tour operator sent you a message..." Check all folders in case it got sorted somewhere unusual. The good news is the tour access lasts for a year, so if you're still around Salem, you can use it whenever you want! Just make sure to download the app and tour content beforehand. Of course, if you can't find the email or aren't planning a Salem trip, message me about a refund ASAP - we don't want unhappy customers!

Very cheap activity to do. Tickets sell out almost every day so you must buy them online starting at midnight the day you want to go. The activity wasn’t worth spending the hour it was very dated, basically a few maniqin sets you look at with a voice over. Very cool outside of the building though. Gift shop is accessible from outside.

Well worth the money! This tour gets you out of the big crowds and makes the trip more enjoyable. Make sure to not forget your headphones as some places are heavily populated which makes it difficult to hear with just the speaker. Would definitely recommend!

Easy to follow tour led by listening to app instructions. Automatically adjusts topics as you walk into vicinity of the next subject. Easy to download and use the app, we found it best to test the app before getting to the tour starting point. And if you leave the designated tour path, it will automatically pickup once you return to a specific location. Price was reasonable. Use headphones rather than speaker to avoid annoying others nearby. Recommended.

My mother, daughter and I took on the self guided tour of Salem. The hardest part was the orientation of the map but after recognizing the need to read street signs (duh) we were off! There were a couple of places that the guide was unclear about entry and order of viewing (memorial and graveyard) but other than that it was perfect. We also added the extra stops which were fun!
