I tried to contact the walknapp and you because the app wouldn't run my phone said it had a bug and when that was fixed I could update the app but it never got fixed so I couldn't do the tour.

This walking tour was awful. Every time I paused it, it jumped back to the beginning of the section of the tour. I spent more time trying to return to where I had paused, so I eventually gave up. That was a waste of money.

Some of the building colors are different as owners changed perhaps , but new paint is not always the color noted. Also if doing with a partner, using the same account and sharing earbuds might eliminate variables heard by each individual, hubby would pause his whole walking and I kept mine going so we would have to wait up or catch up at some locations. My suggestion is if using two accounts, decide in advance to walk while it plays the whole time.

We got to Salem late before Halloween and didn’t know what to do! Everything was closed after 10 even food was hard to find. This was a perfect way to spend some time with not a soul in sight. My whole group enjoyed it, it ended up taking us about an hour and a half to wrangle everyone together through the tour. I would highly recommend this tour!

October in Salem is packed and it's best to bring earbuds :). 100K plus show up per day in October, sorry you came during the peak. If you do visit any other month, it's pretty easy to navigate and mostly empty. It's too bad you could not hear the stories of each spot about the witch trials, Harry Houdini, the burial grounds, the Hocus Pocus Filming sites, and all the haunted spots. the tour never expires, so feel free to take it anytime, off season or peak :)

Horrible! I asked and got a refund.
Visiting Salem was on my bucket list and we drove almost 10 hours to see the place. The app kept taking me all over town and we never found one site to visit. The place smelled like pot, dog crap, and vaping, the people were rude, and the employees seemed annoyed at all the tourists.
I asked five different employees for directions to The Witch House since the app took me nowhere, and all five employees told me different things but I never found it.
The whole town is about money and there is no respect shown to the accused and the people who died there. The Burying Point Cemetary was in the middle of carnival attractions, tarot card readers, psychics, and a circus-like freak show. It was sad and disrespectful.
It was more like a circus than a site of horrible tragedy of innocent people who were chased through town, tortured, imprisoned, and then hung by the neck until they were dead or crushed beneath stones.
The Town of Salem should be ashamed of themselves. They had an opportunity to preserve the history of that dark period but instead, they chose to commercialize the town and turn it into a money-making circus.
Highly disappointing!

Salem is packed in October with 100k showing on on a single day. If you want a more intimate experience it's best to go on an off month. Like December, or July :). I do not see this name registered taking the tour. Did you get the WalknTours app? Please email me at info@walkntours.com, I'm happy to refund, and I'm also happy to help. From the sounds of it I think you might not have taken the tour and may have a different app. The second stop on the tour is the Witch House. There is a very large sign outside that says "Witch House" and you can see it from the first stop,. This tour goes from stop to haunted stop, with sites like the witch house, Harry Houdini History, Hocus Pocus, witch trials and haunted sites. Sorry this did not work out for you. Good news is the tour never expires, so feel free to take it anytime!

Pleasantly surprised with this! For £6 wasn’t expecting much but it was so good! A good time, we didn’t get bored but it wasn’t too brief and loved the atmosphere. So easy to follow and you can do it whenever suits you rather than having to book a tour

The tour was amazing a great experience. Totally recommend to do the self tour you can go at your own pace. Just make sure everyone has headphones 🎧 so that you can hear everything and block out noise.

This was PERFECT!!! We didn’t want a 2+ hour tour and this was only 45 mins. We looked at these other groups with mobs of people, you could barely hear them, and annoying voices. But we had a fantastic narrator on the app with great sound effects. We could start/stop at our own pace to pop into a shop or eat. I will look for these tours in other cities 100%! PLUS only $8 for BOTH of us. PLUS PLUS the in app GPS - I just an in awe of this product and have traveled a lot.
