What an amazing tour! We enjoyed every minute of the Hocus Pocus tour with Hillary! From fun facts to trivia, there was never a dull moment. She kept everyone engaged and entertained with movie quotes, deep cuts, and Salem facts. Highly recommend to any Hocus Pocus fan, or someone looking to have a fun, interactive experience around Salem. Do this tour, ask for Hillary. You will not be disappointed.

It was a lot of walking but worth it! Our guide ,Michael was so entertaining. We saw the movie many times with our kids and seeing where it was filmed was terrific.We all loved this experience in Salem.

The tour begins at the Salem Common, near the playground at the basketball courts . The first stop is the high school used in the filming of Hocus Pocus. From there we will walk approximately 3.2 miles and end at Pioneer Village.

The tour will conclude at Pioneer Village, we are guests will have the opportunity to explore the village on their own (weather permitting). Please note: The tour does not go inside Pioneer Village we just end next to Pioneer Village.

Itinerary

Discover the filming sites for the 1993 movie *Hocus Pocus* and learn about Salem’s history on this guided walking tour. Over the course of the 3-mile (4.8-kilometer) long walking tour, you’ll visit five different filming sites.

Meet your guide and group near Salem Common to start the tour. The next stop will be at Salem Old Town Hall, one of the top sites downtown for fans of the movie. Then head to the Ropes Mansion and Garden, the site of Allison’s house in the movie. Next will be the Broad Street Cemetery, one of the oldest cemeteries in the city. The tour then concludes at Salem 1630: Pioneer Village, a living history museum, which can you explore on your own (extra expense).

In addition to learning about the filming sites, you’ll also learn about the Salem Witch Trials and Salem’s maritime history.

Pioneer Village is not open on weekdays . So if you choose to book this tour on a weekday you will not gain entrance. Pioneer Village also closes during inclement weather due to muddy conditions..
We cannot be held responsible if Pioneer Village is closed without notice.
Pioneer Village (optional with $5 fee) is normally open June through October. Weekends only.

We had such a wonderful time doing the Hocus Pocus tour. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable about the movie as well as Salem history. It was an active tour and we walked 2 plus miles but didn’t really notice because it was fun and entertaining.

Michael was incredible. We are locals, but we never did any tours. The history of Salem is incredible, and Michael was kind, made sure everyone was there, and made sure everyone was safe.. Here is what I would pay extra money for, maybe a shuttle bus to take us back to down town..

We had such a great time on the Hocus Pocus Tour in Salem! Michael was very informative and made the experience even better with all of his movie references, it really brought the magic to life. A few tips for future visitors: when they say it’s a walking tour with no bathrooms, they mean it; plan accordingly! You’ll see all of the filming sites from the outside, and if you’d like to go inside some of them, you can pay separately to visit after the tour. Also, note that the tour doesn’t end where it starts, so you’ll need to find your own transportation back to your car. We recommend using the Salem Skipper, it was quick and convenient and less expensive than Uber. Overall, it was a fun and memorable experience, especially for Hocus Pocus fans!

One thing we learned on the tour is that a lot of the film’s scenes were filed in Los Angeles and only a few shots of the buildings in Salem were used. Could save yourself some money and go see the sights on your own. Nevertheless, Ryan was a fantastic guide and so much fun!

What a fun tour!!!!! Our tour guide Hilary really made it the best experience!!!! We had her as our tour guide the day before with the history tour and was thrilled even more when we found out we would have her for the Hocus Pocus tour. If you are a fan of the movie this is a must! You will do a lot of walking! Be prepared, but it’s worth it for sure! Hilary had so much knowledge to share about the film. What’s great is that you can feel the love she had for this movie and that made you appreciate it so much more. Hilary also made sure you got enough photos from each location! I myself will look at the movie so differently going forward! If you are a Hocus Pocus fan…… don’t miss this one!!

Michael talked way too much to the guests taking pics of them and making us all wait while he did that. We could take our own pics plus a couple of us had another tour scheduled that we would not of had to worry about if he would have just did the tour. We had to leave early to get to our Salem witch museum time. Very disappointed that we didn’t see much at all it out buy our tour stsryrd at 1230 and we would not have made our other appointment at 245 cause he talked and screwed around so much
