The tour begins at the Salem Common, near the playground at the basketball courts . The first stop is the high school used in the filming of Hocus Pocus. From there we will walk approximately 3.2 miles and end at Pioneer Village.

The tour will conclude at Pioneer Village, we are guests will have the opportunity to explore the village on their own (weather permitting). Please note: The tour does not go inside Pioneer Village we just end next to Pioneer Village.
Itinerary
Discover the filming sites for the 1993 movie *Hocus Pocus* and learn about Salem’s history on this guided walking tour. Over the course of the 3-mile (4.8-kilometer) long walking tour, you’ll visit five different filming sites.
Meet your guide and group near Salem Common to start the tour. The next stop will be at Salem Old Town Hall, one of the top sites downtown for fans of the movie. Then head to the Ropes Mansion and Garden, the site of Allison’s house in the movie. Next will be the Broad Street Cemetery, one of the oldest cemeteries in the city. The tour then concludes at Salem 1630: Pioneer Village, a living history museum, which can you explore on your own (extra expense).
In addition to learning about the filming sites, you’ll also learn about the Salem Witch Trials and Salem’s maritime history.

- There is uneven terrain and parts are NOT wheelchair/scooter/stroller accessible. Please be prepared.
- Not for those with back, hip, neck, joint problems. Very fast tour and challenging terrain..
- By choosing to purchase a ticket, you and your ticketed guests will be agreeing to our liability waiver which includes a release of liability on our tours as well as a photo release.

- We do not enter any buildings on this tour, this is an outdoor activity only.
- Tour group size may be up to 40 guests per group
- There are no public restrooms on the tour route. Please plan accordingly.
- Pioneer Village is not open on weekdays . So if you choose to book this tour on a weekday you will not gain entrance. Pioneer Village also closes during inclement weather due to muddy conditions..
- We cannot be held responsible if Pioneer Village is closed without notice.
- Pioneer Village (optional with $5 fee) is normally open June through October. Weekends only.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 40 travelers

Brush up on your movie trivia! You may just earn yourself a treat! Violet was a great host. It is a lot of walking but the final stop makes it all worth it! Quick Uber back to town - easy peasy!

It was very cool & nostalgic being so up close to all the movie locations from Hocus Pocus!! The walk wasn’t bad because you do stop frequently throughout. The only downside would be that the tour doesn’t end where it began, it’s about 3 miles so make sure your not short on time and that you have a Lyft ride app set up on your phone or some other means of transportation.

Trish was simply amazing at her job, was very professional, attentive and caring to everyone especially our family. She knew a ton of information and did her homework so well. I’m pleased to have had her as our tour guide. She has researched and watched the movie she mentioned about 50 times and knew stuff I didn’t even know. She handed out candy through out the tour and had little prepared netted bags with Hocus Pocus memorabilia for everyone. Thank you and keep up the great work at what you do for others. Highly recommend her to anyone. Will be back!!!!

Our family fully enjoyed our tour with Tish. We are a mixed group from 74 to 7 and she met all our needs. She was friendly and informative and her life experience in the entertainment industry added to the information she was able to provide. This made the tour more enjoyable and was able to provide behind the scenes information about movie production that others who only know about Salem would be able to provide. I would definitely recommend this tour to others, especially with this guide.

Our guide Violet was amazing and so knowledgeable of the movie Hocus Pocus, the sites and Salem history. It is a walking tour around 3 miles so wear comfortable shoes and bring water, we end the tour at a park where there are public restrooms. We took an uber back into the center of town which only cost us 4 dollars. We loved the tour and the experience. Thank you Violet.

The heat and walk were a lot for the folks in our party with arthritis but the tour guide made it so worth it. He was awesome! The information was great and his energy was fantastic!

There is a lot of walking on this tour with not many opportunities to sit down., or use the bathroom. However, Grace was a delightful and informative guide, and we enjoyed the Salem and Hocus Pocus sites.🎃🎃🎃

Salem "Hocus Pocus" Movie Locations Tour was great overall. The meeting spot was easy to find, and I recommend getting there 5-10 minutes early. Violet was an excellent tour guide, and she included some fun trivia in the tour. Our journey began at the Salem Common and ended at Pioneer Village. This was little over a three-mile walk, so comfortable walking shoes are required. I also recommend using the restroom before you head to the meeting spot. I would also bring some water and either wear a hat or carry an umbrella for the weather that day. Pioneer Village is only open on the weekends, so keep that in mind before you book this tour. The price of the tour was a bit much for what it is worth; however, if you are a huge fan of the movie, then I recommend taking this tour.

You must wear good walking shoes and be physically able to walk 3+miles one way on a hot day. There are no restroom stops on the trip so plan accordingly. There is one market stop for drinks and Micheal, our tour guide brought candy for the group, but bring water to stay hydrated on a hot day. The tour ends cross town from where it started, so you have to fend for yourself to get back. Many folks took an uber back, but if you’re able to walk some more, you can get back in about 30-35 minutes using a more direct route which is quite scenic along the harbor
Micheal, our tour guide, was very informative and entertaining.
If you saw the movie “Hocus Pocus” and are a bit of a fan, then you should enjoy the walk, but otherwise I would choose something different. We learned a lot of Salem history and saw a few of the buildings used in the movie, but only the outsides, as most of the inside shots were filmed in Hollywood.
Please note that the meeting location given is the closest GPS spot available. You actually meet on the south side of the Washington Square Commons, the large field area across from the GPS address where the basketball courts are.

This tour exceeded my expectations and couldn’t recommend it more! It is prefect for Hocus Pocus lovers, walking around and exploring and also learning about Salem’s rich history. You get to see the iconic Hocus Pocus locations and take pictures. Our tour guide Michael was awesome! He is friendly, knowledgeable and truly cares about making your experience worthwhile.

A ton of walking, but warned and well worth it! Ryan was an awesome guide and made the whole experience memorable. Hocus Pocus trivia was built into all the stops and on a hot day Ryan took extra care to make sure the group had water stops. At the end of the tour have your plan to get back (Uber, blue bike rental, taxi, or walk). Ryan led a walking group back and it was nice to see more of the city, continue the Hocus Pocus conversations, and get local insights.

This was an amazing tour! I am a die hard Hocus Pocus fan but still learned a lot on this tour and the tour guy Topher is the best! He also threw in some general history too on Salem which made it even better. Would recommend to everyone.

We had such a wonderful time doing the Hocus Pocus tour. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable about the movie as well as Salem history. It was an active tour and we walked 2 plus miles but didn’t really notice because it was fun and entertaining.
