It was lovely way to tour Rome and see its grandeur and beauty but on a very different way. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very interesting.

We had a lovely time on the Tiber with Dario and Sebastian leading us on the raft.. Relaxed, nice to meet other nationality’s, well briefed , pizza and water stop and two rapids .. Prepare to get wet .. Great fun .. Thank you Nigel and Shauna

It gave me a different perspective of the city of Rome. It was an extremely safe activity for all ages. I found out about this by accident and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip

Absolutely a blast. Nice and cool on the water and great views! Our guide was very funny. We got soaked and laughed a LOT.

Fantastic way to see the sights of Rome in a fun and unique way! Highly recommend! Our guide made the experience really fun. The rapids are easily managed, and you don’t have to be an experienced white water rafter to enjoy this.

Brilliant way to see Rome; the rafting experience is something that I never thought I would ever try! But having done it and got soaking wet in the rapids I am glad I did it. The guide stops at various spots and you just float as they explain the history of what you are looking at.

Nice try for rafting beginners with a nice company, you do a nice exercise during the trip which almost 90 min

I would not go river rafting in Rome, it’s sounds great but the river is disgusting. There are so many homeless people camping , not just a few, heaps, along the bank of the river and underpass using the river as their personal bathroom.

Really memorable experience, can't recommend enough. Our guide was so friendly and funny. very relaxing, similar to tubing. You will get wet, but not soaked (unless you jump in to cool off like we did!) but they will hold onto dry clothes and anything else and bring them to you at the end of the trip. The drop off is different than the pick up, so plan accordingly, and the pizza at the end of the trip isn't great, but you're not doing this for the pizza!

Nice experience, but the river wasn't particularly exciting. Rather slow. But it was enjoyable and a nice way to see some sights.

We've been to Rome multiple times. This was the first with our teenage boys so rafting was change of pace from walking the streets of Rome during the heat of July.
We did the morning tour (10:30A) which was the only true way to beat the heat. The afternoon time (3:30P) would have been just the opposite and the guide confirmed that! The tour required a decent amount of rowing and you had to stay seated on the side of the raft the entire trip. Everyone had a paddle and was expected to use it after a short training session!
The rapids (level 1+) were at the end. Great for beginners but won't satisfy the die-hard. It was the first rafting adventure for our teenage boys that know how to swim so it was decent.
At the end, a few of us helped pull the raft to the street for loading. In hindsight, they could have had help there so we weren't needed. The guide was very nice and everyone seemed to have a good time.
Other posts have mentioned that transportation from the drop-off point is not provided. That's true and it could definitely have added stress if we weren't aware of it. Instead, we were prepared and had already purchased 1-day subway passes. Once on land, we pulled up Google Maps, walked ~15 mins to the nearest station (in our case, Piramide), and as a bonus saw the Pyramid of Cestius on the way.
If you haven't done a tour like this before, enjoyment will be based on your expectations of the rapids and how much you're willing to exercise. You don't get in the water (at least, not on purpose) and you can get a little wet from the rapids but it's not much - mostly the shoes from the water in the raft.

Guide was amazing and friendly. Knowledgeable of the river and surrounding areas. If you want to see Rome from a different perspective, this is the way!

This tour is a fun and refreshing way to spend time in Rome. I chose this tour because it was easy to get to using the Metro, well priced, great for a hot June day and in a place with minimal crowds. Our guides were wonderful and did a great job.

The guide made us feel very welcome and relaxed, he was very knowledgeable and pointed out lots of interesting places along the route. It was a really lovely experience just floating down the river away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still be able to enjoy many of the sights from a different perspective.

This was something really different to do and a lot of fun. We chose this as we’re travelling with a teen who’s used to a lot of activity. This worked out well but in fact we all really enjoyed it a lot!

Extremely fun trip. Started slow and meandering and a lot of rowing and then we got to the rapids. We were drenched and laughing hysterically. So much fun. Our guide Michael was excellent. He provided all the details we needed. Very helpful.

What a great time with Daniele! Made my 66 year old mom feel so comfortable even though she was really nervous. It was a beautiful, calm activity away from the hustle of the street just above. What a wonderful way to see Rome, learn some things about the city from Daniele, and get some exercise at the same time. Definitely good for variety of ages and fitness levels, as long as you can climb in and out of the boat. We had a BLAST!

This was fun! Just by walking a few feet to the river, suddenly you are in a different world. More quiet and slower than the rest of Rome. The staff was great. They have really thought through the experience. A few notes… they recommended in the description to wear sturdy shoes with good traction and good support. It is important… you will be walking on uneven, slippery rocks as you enter and exit the boat. The experience wasn’t extremely demanding, but you will get a little bit of a workout while rowing and it does take a little strength and balance getting in and out of the boat. You will get wet! And it is river water. We washed all of our clothes from that day twice, and we washed and dried our tennis shoes. If you can spare room in your luggage for a pair of tennis shoes you don’t care about it would be even better… or like us just plan time to wash and dry shoes. We arrived there on the metro. The end point is downriver from the start point so it’s a different metro stop. The closest metro stop to the end point isn’t that convenient (15-20 minutes away). However the next day we realized that our metro passes were usable on the buses too, and there was a bus stop nearby, so we would use that if we did it again. Our 14-year-old enjoyed the experience, as did my wife and I. A different persecutive on Rome. You don’t see a whole lot of sites off to the sides of the river, but there are some, and our guide was knowledgeable and answered questions. The river and the walls, bridges, etc. are also of historic significance and our guide shared some interesting info about those.

Unusual way to spend my time in Rome but loved it! The guides were great. She provided a lot of history and stories while we saw Rome from a different perspective!

Arrived at the meeting point, looking for the guide, and Connie arrived holding an oar, which was a great idea to help us locate her. After a short walk to the river, we got kitted up and headed out onto the river. Just a party of 5 plus Connie. Easy paddling really, nothing strenuous at all, and don't need any kayaking experience either. Connie pointed out the sites, stopped for photo opportunities, and fed us on the riverbank at the half way stop. The two 'rapids' sections were easy enough but great fun getting a bit wet! At the end destination, it would have been good to have had a private area to get out of the wet, bottom-half clothes but we found an empty market marquee by the river for a quick change! The tour doesn't take you back to the start point but it was good to have the opportunity to wonder through a part of Rome back into the centre that we probably wouldn't have gone to otherwise. Really enjoyed the experience and a unique way to see a bit of Rome!

Such a fun time definitely worth booking! We took a break for some photos and pizza so that was also a great addition!
David_W, Aug 2023
Something a bit different from the regular chaos of Rome which was very much welcomed by our two teenagers! Most of the journey is calm and quiet, then a short break for water and a slice of pizza (provided) before a couple of rapids (not too sinister and a chance to get wet - welcomed in the heat). Our guide filled us in with some interesting snippets as we went along and you get a different view of Rome. Only other comment is you don’t end up back where you started, which wasn’t overly clear in the tour description so it’s about a 20 min walk to the nearest metro station (Pyramide) once you’ve finished.

We were asked to postpone, received the message in a way we didn’t see it. Had a lot of trouble getting to the place, there was no way to call I had to email, and the response came that they waited a long time which was ridiculous because it was 10 minutes. I understand but really, I’m so disappointed that there’s nothing that can be done. I have other bookings with Viator snd will cancel the ones I can for a full refund. The Colosseum tour was much better…they called us, helped to find their group in a very crowded place. Skip the rafting.

It was an experience that not many people have had. Traveling with teenagers can be challenging when trying to keep them engaged. The whole family had a great time!

Didn't get to go. Operator canceled
Twice
First time dock was being repaired
Booked again another day and he canceled because he didn't have enough people
Wouldn't launch with only 2 of us.

Great guides. Greg and Carlos are amazing
Lots of laughs and information about the history of the River
Rapids are so much fun too!
Tracie_M, Jul 2023
What a wonderful, relaxing and unique way to enjoy Rome. Our guides, Carlos and Mariana, were warm, professional and made for such a fun experience for our family. They also did an excellent job managing all logistics from pre-trip communication re: meeting point, safety (helmets, life jackets and instruction) and even had snacks for us along the way. Grazie!
Selena_L, Jul 2023
Tour was ok, not much effort put in by the staff when stopping for pizza. It's an ok tour. The guide was knowledgeable about history.
Tammy_C, Jun 2023
We needed a break from the usual Rome adventures. This rafting trip was perfect for that! It was very different from walking around the streets and sites in Rome. Our guide met us on time. We were taken to the edge of the river for a short safety briefing. We were then launched into the water where we paddled some, floated some, and navigated through two fun rapids. Even though it rained while we were on the river, it was still a great experience.
