Itinerary

Take your pick of a morning or afternoon tour, and connect with your private guide at either your central Rome hotel or a another convenient meeting point. Begin with a stop at Piazza di Spagna, once considered the ‘drawing room’ of Roman power brokers and still a popular rendezvous point today. Stroll over to the Trevi Fountain, where you can toss a coin into the fabulously Baroque waterworks and imagine scenes from La Dolce Vita, Roman Holiday and other classic films shot here.

Continue on through narrow streets and charming squares, along the way learning the stories behind engraved obelisks, historic buildings, and stately palaces. See one-time papal residences that today host modern offices, and reach back to the city’s imperial glory days inside the magnificent Pantheon, one of Rome’s best-preserved ancient monuments. Your guide may also throw in some unexpected adventures tailored to your departure point, such as a coffee break in a Renaissance cloister or historic cafe, a visit to a family-run sculpture atelier, or a detour to ancient underground ruins.

We had just gotten off of a 10 day Mediterranean Cruise and were a bit tired. Maria was wonderful at making sure we would see everything possible and had a wonderful knowledg base of the various fountains an squares.
