We had an excellent experience. Our 8 yr old son who has read most of Rick Reordan’s books loved the tour and was excited to locate and discuss the various gods/goddesses/hero’s highlighted in the museum. Our guide was extremely engaging, warm and knowledgeable. Our entire family left with a deeper appreciation for Roman and Greek mythology and history and had a much richer experience of the museum with his guidance.

We lucked out having Nayla as our tour guide! Small family group, led by kid with special needs who is OBSESSED with Percy Jackson, was expertly steered on a fascinating tour of the Capitoline Museum. Nayla was able to tap our kid’s deep knowledge and fascination w Greek & Roman mythology and weave it into a fascinating 2 hour+ tour. Highly recommended.

I wasn't completely sure what to expect, but my daughter was super excited for this tour, it struck me as strange that you had to buy your tickets separately but the ticket line was literally 1 person, and this tour was probably the best value for our money the entire trip. Why? It was very small groups just a couple families and the guide was extremely knowledgeable both about Percy Jackson but also about both Greek and Roman mythology and how they connect to the artifacts in the museum. Our guide Sylvano had my daughter enthralled from beginning to end, she knew a fair bit about mythology and history for a 10 year old before the tour, but she learned a huge amount more on the tour, and connecting it to some of her favorite books made it better. If your kids love mythology, Percy Jackson or any of the rick Riordan books, do yourself a favor and book this tour. This museum is also mucb less busy than many of the others like Vatican, despite having some absolutely outstanding pieces.
Do be aware your going to skip many things in the museum on this tour, as our guide went from one famous mythology piece or area to the next. However for our kids this was absolutely perfect, many adult Museum tours they get bored with, hard to get bored when your hearing the story of Hercules defeating the Lion with his bare hands while looking at a statue depiction.

Loved the Capitoline museum. Was beautiful and not crowded. This was very little about Percy Jackson. With 3 kids 8/10/12 who have all read the books there were a few times they corrected our guide. He was great and had good info about what we were seeing but not really a Percy Jackson tour.

My 12 year old son and I participated in this tour at the end of March, and this was one of his favorite activities on our trip. Our tour group was small, there were two other kids around my son's age as well as their families. All three kids were very interested in the Rick Riordan series and mythology in general and our tour guide, Silvano, did a wonderful job engaging with them. Silvano mentioned that he teaches middle school aged children during the week, and it was evident given his skill at interacting with our group and his ability to hold their attention while teaching them a lot of great information. The adults also enjoyed this tour - he kept it interesting for all of us! Definitely one of my favorite tours on our trip as well. I highly recommend this tour, particularly if you have a child that enjoyed any of the Rick Riordan series. Of note, I reached out to the tour company a few times prior to our visit (I had difficulty purchasing the Capitoline Museum tickets online, plus questions about where to meet, etc), and they were always responsive and easy to communicate with.

This was way better than I thought it would be. My son, my wife, and I all learned a lot and had fun doing it. Our tour guide was not only very familiar with mythology with being a historian and archeologist but very familiar with how to interact with kids since he is a middle school teacher. The tour was a full 2.5 hours and we saw so many interesting things in the museum. Just word of warming, the tour is inside the Capitoline Museum and the price of the tour does not cover the price of the entry ticket. Be sure to buy your museum ticket prior to the tour. Enjoy!

Silvano was a wonderful tour guide! It was our first time in this museum and it was a pleasant surprise. A little off the beaten path of the main sights to see. I’m so happy we booked this tour. My son and I learned a lot and all of the Percy jackson references are such a cool tie in. We have lots of myths we are inspired to read now!

We really appreciated the amount of information that Silvano was able to communicate in a short time. It was over 100 degrees F that day with no AC in the museum and he still kept my 12 year olds interested. For one of my twins, it was the most anticipated experience of the trip to Europe and it met our expectations.

Silvano was absolutely fantastic! He had both the knowledge as well as the excitement about sharing that knowledge with our daughters. He was able to make connections between the statues and paintings at the museum and the characters from the books. Super engaging and a sincerely friendly guide. One of the best tours we did in Italy. It was also a nice way to beat the heat since 95% of the tour is inside the museum.

Gregor, my son, and I were extremely lucky to have Sylvano all to ourselves.
Gregor has a very good knowledge of the Gods, but even he was enthralled by Sylvano’s vivid explanations and stories.
His knowledge across different histories (Greek, Mesopotamian, Egyptian and Norse) was fantastic and really brought the connections to life.
The highlight was Sylvano’s teaching style which involved Gregor throughout.
Two fantastic hours I would strongly recommend.

My 10-year-son loves Roman and Greek mythology and has read all the Rick Riordan series, so we were excited for this tour. Our guide, Silvano, was absolutely wonderful in engaging my son and discussing all things mythology with him. It was definitely a highlight of our time in Rome!

This was a great tour for my kids (age 8, 10, 12). The 12 yo was a huge PJ fan so was instantly a huge fan of the tour. Silvano even managed to successfully engage my younger 2 ones who were cranky and tired (never fun to deal with, right?). By the end of the tour, all 3 were chatting happily, engaging with the guide, filling out their PJ scavenger hunt booklets, and saying the tour was "the coolest ever." Five stars!

Silvano was a great guide and and it was lots of fun for the kids- and he was able to answer all the grown ups ‘questions, too. I wouldn’t change anything about the tour but its price. We have been on several tours as good of better for less than half the price.

That is why we have very few specialized, and especially trained guides with the specialized knowledge Silvano and our other PJ experts have which is why the tour is just slightly more pricey than any 'normal' private tour. My mythology loving kids (ages 11, 11, 9) loved, loved, loved this tour (my 4 year old liked it too, but he napped for much of it after a long day outside in the heat). They had so much fun, and had a wonderful time with Silvano. He kept them engaged and entertained the entire time. It's clear he is a teacher who loves to share his knowledge with kids and interact with them. We all agreed this was one of the highlights of our 2.5 weeks in Italy. Fantastic experience! Our guide was an archeologist with a focus on mythology. He really engaged the kids and kept them interested looking for mythological themes throughout the museum. He adjusted to the different kids and their personalities and kept all of them engaged. It was fun, informative, and age appropriate without being childish. I highly recommend this for anyone who has an interest in mythology, be they 5 to 99.
