Tour itself was fine. Local guide at Pompeii was Francesco. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He had been archeologist on site. We moved VERY fast as it was the end of the day.
I knew that the itinerary could be reversed, so checked weeks out to confirm Sorrento would be last, as our plan was to not get back on the bus there as it was the next destination on our trip. We had our bags with us (I’d OKd this in advance). Our guide for the bus and Sorrento portion was very helpful in finding a solution that had the local guide get us to the train station in Pompeii for a return ride to Sorrento (35 min). Long day. Very glad we didn’t just skip Pompeii.

My sister and I, both retired, loved every minute of this day trip out of Rome! Aside from being extremely handsome (think Patrick Dempsey with a perfect tan), our guide, Giovanni, was warm, friendly, and very knowledgable about every aspect of the tour—including how to make Limoncello at home! He made all of us feel like he genuinely cared about us having the best experience possible—which we did. With the EXPERT driving of Isidore, who maneuvered sharp turns on crowded, narrow streets with jaw dropping precision, we travelled through Naples, stopped at a charming seaside shop to taste Limoncello, then had an hour to explore the beautiful town of Sorrento with its wonderful shops and sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea. After lunch (provided), we made our way to Pompeii where Francesco, another fabulous guide, led us through the fascinating ruins of the doomed ancient city. The presence of Mt. Vesuvius looming in the distance added an almost surreal element to the experience. Though it made for a long day (we left at 7:15 am and got back at about 9 pm), it was so worth it. Unforgettable!
**tip: sit on the right side of the bus—not behind the driver—for best photo opportunities en route!

We had a fantastic day trip to Sorrento and Pompeii. Our tour guide Giovanni was too good and paid attention to the minutest details to make this trip memorable for us. He was super friendly and did not hesitate to share his phone number with us. The views of the coastline from Sorrento were absolutely breathtaking. Carlos did a really good job walking us through the ruins at Pompeii and describing the historical details associated with different parts of the ruins. I would rate this trip 5 out of 5.

Great trip-well organized and coordinated. Friendly and knowledgeable guides. Tiziano was friendly and a great guide!
Stop in Sorrento was quick but long enough to wander through some shops, enjoy a gelato, and take some pictures from the lookout point.

Amazing trip with an amazing guide. Giovanni was professional, knowledgeable and full of energy. The trip was well planned and executed. He made sure that everyone was looked after and engaged in great conversations. We would love to come back to Sorrento and spend more time. Anyone looking for a taste of Sorrento on a short visit, don’t hesitate to book this trip.

Do not book - this was truly one of the worst days. They market this so differently than actual. For starters, the group was multiple coach buses making the group MASSIVE, and impossible at stops. We were late and behind schedule the whole day. The bus states it’s air conditioned however the driver consistently would turn off air to save money. The food is a 3 star and gross. We couldn’t eat. The rest stop location is a rip off. Sorrento was only a 30 minute stop, rather than the two hours marketed. Last but not least, we arrived TWO AND A HALF hours late! We didn’t get back until 10:30pm when we should have been back no later than 8pm. It was truly terrible. The tour guide, Isabela was nice and spoke good English however she didn’t have the proper tools and structure from the company.

Dear Ricky and Alexandra Zaki,
thank you for sharing your opinion, I would like to point out that we only had one bus that day so we do not understand what you are talking about. Regarding the schedule maybe you didn't know that the date of your 1st of June tour was the Sunday before June 2nd which is a holiday in Italy, so many people go on vacation and the roads are much more clogged, not our fault of course.
Our drivers never turn off the air conditioning to save money, this is another false and tendentious piece of information, also you say the food is gross but also that you didn't get to eat, so we don't understand how you can judge the food not having eaten, although obviously everyone ate as planned.
The 2 hours in Sorrento also included a visit to the Limoncello factory located precisely in Sorrento.
Thank you for allowing us to demonstrate the legitimacy of our work.
Sincerely
Davide

Amazing experience and excellent service from Giovanni and Pino. They made the experience even more enjoyable. The tour of the archeological park at Pompeii was very informative and the Sorrento was beautiful.

Pompeii was brought to life by our amazing tour guide Francesco. His passion and love for his job shone through from beginning to end.
Our next stop to the Lemoncello factory was really a waste of time and energy. I would suggest omitting it from the schedule and allowing more time in Sorrento. Tiziano, our tour director for the day was kind and very organized.

Giovanni was an incredible tour guide—truly outstanding! This was our first European tour, and we would choose him again in a heartbeat. He was extremely knowledgeable, spoke multiple languages, and carried himself with professionalism throughout the entire experience.
Pompeii and Sorrento were absolutely breathtaking, and Giavonni’s guidance made the trip even more memorable. On the bus and at every stop, he engaged with guests, shared fascinating stories, and asked thoughtful questions. He created a warm, family-like atmosphere that brought everyone together.
What really stood out was how he went above and beyond. He gave us his personal number in case we needed anything, which we didn’t expect to use—but we did! We reached out to him for help finding antique furniture shops and for guidance on how to get to Naples and Capri. He provided such thorough information that we were able to plan and book the next leg of our journey with ease. We highly recommend using him.

Wonderful experience with Sylvia as our guide. Pompeii, Lemoncello factory and Sorento. Be advised, a 14-16 hour day is expected.

Be sure to experience Pompeii with the Francesco 1 and 2.
The archiologist Francesco grew up in Pompeii and played as a child on Sunday on the grounds. He truly loves his job and our guide Francesco really did geat accomodating all even when some of the tourists were confused what they ordered for lunch
