Guide Jamie was terrific.
But his sign (identity) was “Roman Vacations.” We were looking for Viator or “Jewish Tour” and never connected to Roman Vacations “
Almost gave up on the tour!!!

Our tour guide, James, met us promptly and gave us an overview of Roman history and how the Jewish people came to settle in Rome. We appreciated all the interesting information he provided about ghetto life and especially appreciated his positive outlook that societies can go through dark and evil times but eventually the goodness of humanity will prevail. Our stop for Kosher gelato was delicious and gave us a bit of relaxing free time before we continued on with our tour. After the tour ended, we decided to visit the Holocaust Museum–very graphic but important to keep the facts and history alive!

Paul was an amazing tour guide and has an encyclopedia memory of historical facts about Rome - which makes sense since he's a history professor! It was very informative and interesting. Wanted to tour the Jewish ghetto last time we were here but wasn't able to do happy to have had that fantastic experience. We can't forget these tragic events so they don't happen again in our current times.....excellent tour! Also delicious kosher gelato!

Paul was a wonderful tour guide. He had both the adults and kids engaged and interested. We saw and learned about the history behind the Jewish ghetto, Jews in Italy and the political movements. Our 8 and 9 year olds were fascinated and he made it age appropriate. Ending the tour in delicious kosher gelato was so great! Highly recommend this tour and Paul.

I waited at the place to meet the guide 45 minutes. I walked the entire area there was no guide.
I spent $30 for taxis to get there and back
I am so angry.
Please refund my $98 for 2 people

Ciao Myrna! We are sorry that you missed the guide, but as we explained over the phone to you, the guide waited 15minutes after the tour start time but you unfortunately never appeared and they could not delay the tour starting any longer, as the other participants were all there and ready to go.

There was so much to see and learn about. Saw many ruins right next to modern day buildings. It was so interesting although sad to learn about the area where Nazis came and took people out of their homes. Seeing those places and how they are memorialized was touching. We should not forget such times and people.

Angela was an excellent tour guide. She was very thoughtful and knowledgeable. She geared the information to our understanding and answered all of our questions (which were many). We loved her passion for the topic and her empathy towards the victims of the holocaust and victims from throughout other horrific events throughout history. She was personable and enthusiastic. Angela was well prepared and had a great knowledge base. We highly recommend this tour whether you are Jew or Gentile and we highly recommend this tour guide.

First day in Rome and we did this tour. Small tour with our party of 4 only so got individual attention. Daniel our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting, the kosher gelato was delish. Great few hours spent.

I had a great time learning about the Jewish Ghetto with Daniel
I really like the tour and what he had to say but it started to rain so hard that we had to leave
It was absolutely pouring. However Daniel got me interested in the subject and it went back the next day on my own to explore the neighborhood when I could be dry.

The guide was an American.. which was surprising but made the tour easier without a language barrier. He was knowledgeable and appropriately sober in the right spots of learning about some of the tragedies that this community experienced over hundreds of years.

Paul was a wealth of knowledge. He spoke non-stop about the history of the Jews in Rome. I think Paul would have talked another 2 hours if we let him. The day was extremely hot and humid but our group got a fantastic tour

I have been to Rome several times but never knew anything about the Jewish quarter. Decided to take a tour to find out all about it. The time for my tour was canceled, but luckily was able to take one at a different time for the same day. There were only three including me on our tour. Our guide was very knowledgable and told us lots of interesting facts as we walked around Rome heading to the Jewish quarter. It was quite a hot day and the couple I was on the tour with dropped out about halfway through so had a private tour! The stop for Kosher ice cream was a nice time to sit and got to know my guide and he told me things about living in Rome. Overall, would recommend this tour. Wish I could remember guide's name. i took several tours so they are blending in. He is a student at the university and has a family, and from the US.

Overall we enjoyed this tour. Paul was very passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Rome and its Jewish community. At times too much lecturing and not enough storytelling; I would have appreciated more interaction with the actual sites we were stopped in front of. We learned a great deal and I especially liked the information about 20th century Rome under Mussolini. Thanks Paul!

Our tour guide James was very knowledgeable not only with regards to the Jewish history but Rome as a whole. He took us through a quick and easy walk ending in the Jewish Ghetto, where we were treated to very good gelato. Although the Synagogue and its Museum are not part of the tour you can take a tour of it right after this tour.
