This is a brilliant way to access the Castel. We had to queue for a little while but go in within 5 minutes, this may be longer in higher season. We did have an issue in the first place with us not receiving the email with the tickets on for us to be able to access the castel. However, a quick call to the number provided and she emailed the tickets there and then, even hung on the line while i checked i had them and was able to access the Castel. Cannot recommend enough

Great history. Only bad thing was the audio didn't match the numbers on the exhibits, and it was hard to follow. The views were breathtaking, and the information was good. Just didn't match up.

Castle Saint Angelo is amazing and I highly recommend visiting it with a skip the line entry.
The audio tour we purchased had great information on sites in the Castle but did not have specific directions for getting from one site to the next. We found ourselves happening upon rooms after the commentary because we were not directed to a specific location. Also the map and “path” given do not match the current flow of traffic allowed in the castle or the directions given on the tour.

The self guided tour was fine, but we had a problem getting the audio part of the tour to work. In fact we never got it to work so ended up paying for something we never used.

Straight in with the skip-the-line tickets which were delivered electronically the day before.
The guide gave clear instructions as to where you were and what audio was relevant.
Castel Sant'Angelo is well worth a visit - interesting and informative - even if you're not a history buff.

It took us over an hour just to figure out how to download this ticket. We never got the audio to work. The sight was fantastic but don’t use this vendor to purchase the ticket. We went about two hours before close and easily could have walked in and purchased a ticket. Great place. Had a roof top bar for a drink at tend of tour.

Must visit the castle. The audio was close but about 80% accurate. Not lot is open bit the top of the castle view is very worth it. Need to make it known that this is a third party via Viator. You have to download tickets and was only available to us the day before. Audio also.

Terrible from beginning to end. After downloading the Clio Muse Tours app, the tickets was with different name and we try to contact support, that never answer. There was no support from Clio Muse Tours, NEVER. We not recommend this tour.

Easy self guided tour. Would recommend downloading the app for the audio before going. They will send instructions via email before going. There’s also a cute terrace cafe at the tour with amazing views.

This castle has a bloody history. It is interesting to see where the Pope lived and hear of its history. Be sure to get a drink and bite to eat in the restaurant. It is a nice way to spend an evening - but be aware that they stop serving food around 4pm and then offer very limited items. Great view from the top of the castle.

We were not able to use the tickets, there is no audio tour at the castle. We had to buy tickets there we will be reaching out for a refund.

Good tour (and skipping the line alone was worth it!) but the one thing that took some time to adjust to was the audio guide didn't tell us very well when and where to press play, pause, etc... There were descriptions, but they weren't terribly clear, and my party and I didn't really get into the grove until we were through the room of urns without realizing it... That could well be on us, but a more direct "when you see X, press play on chapter 4" wouldn't hurt. Once we got caught up, loved it, and recommend this tour.

Castle was very beautiful and the audio tour was very informative and helpful, but the directions on where to go and how to get to the next place was less than helpful. Glad we had some time do walk certain areas more than once.

Castel Sant’ Angelo is one of those landmarks where walking at your own pace is necessary. There are upward sloping pathways that makes it hard for someone with little endurance or have walking issues, so you stop as you go. Having the audio at your own pace works for that.
Be aware if you or someone in your group has difficulties with stairs or slopes.
You are rewarded with a nice garden area at the top with a wonderful view of Rome.

The castle is amazing and a must see. The audio tour is hard to follow as the map and signage at the caste do not correspond well to the screen prompts. Numbers on signs at prominent features and rooms are completely different from the numbers on the audio tour. The map for the audio tour does not follow the natural flow. An update from the Castle curator, Viator and Clio Muse is in order. This could be done so much better. Touring on your own or with a guide would be better. The coffee shop is high end with table service. A lovely respite and must experience. The vistas can’t be beat.

The convenience of pre-booking this tour and the ability to download an audio guide ahead of time were beneficial for this tour. Additionally, the material contained in the audio guide was very helpful in learning the immense history of this monument. With that, however, there was one major pitfall. Due to restoration and/or renovation being done on-site, the audio guide is not updated for changes to the flow of visitors. As a result, I wound through the cafe/bookstore/terrace areas several times in search of the correct path forward until I ultimately sought the exit.

Tour didn't happen. No way to get tickets, no response from the agency located in Greece by phone or WhatsApp. Working hours stated different on Viator page than on voicemail.

Not on a tour. Skip the line ticket. My wife and I did not care for the steps involved in this site. However, with that being said, the museum was very nice and the view of Rome from the top was beautiful.

Truthfully, I cannot rate this product. There was a train strike which forced all time allotted for Rome, also including the Sistine Chapel and Vatican City, to melt away into the heat of the day. It was very sad and very frustrating. When traveling in Italy, especially the south, leave time (like a whole day) for surprises like this or others.
