We walked around building...

We walked around building twice and asked 3 different employees how to get a ticket voucher….. even though we were charged for tickets already on this app., and none of the employees was able to direct us to where we needed to go. We gave up and left. Not happy with lack of signage or how to get a ticket to go up the elevator.

The facility told me I was in the wrong place. After showing them I was at the correct address, they agreed I was in the right place. The tour consisted of going to the rough top for a view of the city and an app that identified landmarks. 7 of the land marks were identified as church of San Carlo.

Amazing views of Rome and...

Amazing views of Rome and plenty of space to move around. Requires climbing a number of steps to reach the elevator. Also, you need to go to an offsite location to receive the tickets.

Started off rough, but ended off with a great bang

This excursion was not bad overall. A bit tricky to find when you’re going past the monument, and the WiFi service at that location sucked. You need WiFi to download the pop guide app if you don’t have it otherwise you won’t understand what the history is mostly about. Those being the bad points. The good points were that the tickets you purchase for the tour will get you into every single part of them monument. You definitely want all access to the site since the best views of the city are from the top of the monument after taking the elevator to the top. There are different tiers of views but make certain you get to the top, you can’t miss that. Also, you might be able to take a little bit of time and enjoy lunch at the cafe on the upper level before reaching the elevators.

Okay, but lacking.

First, the “tour company” was quite helpful, but you really don’t need them. If you walk up the monument to where the elevator starts, you can simply purchase a ticket there. We were directed to proceed “up the steps” with some general finger pointing, and we went up the steps to the church which is next to the monument. Then we had to walk back down and start again up different steps of the monument itself. So, note to travelers, unless you specifically want to see the church, be sure to start directly in front of the monument, and walk past the [very sloppy] soldiers guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier. Do not climb the stairs off to one side which go to the church. Once you get to the top of the monument you are treated to some stunning views of Rome, but there is nothing else up there and 10 minutes later you’ll be on the elevator back down. Honestly, it was worth it, but it felt like quite an ordeal to reach the top, and we are reasonably fit. One of our party had enough of all the steps and called it quits at the cafe half way up.

Don’t miss this golf cart tour!!!

We spent one of our evenings in Rome on the golf cart tour and it was amazing. Our tour guide was Alex and he kept both my children(10/7yrs) very much entertained. They are very curious and had all there questions answered… The tour hits all the right spots and was just perfect when it came to pick up and drop off…. I would highly recommend this tour and Alex they were both a gem…. Great with kids!!!

Viator app and ticketing fail

I was unable to find the redemption point for the tickets which I now realise was too far from the entry of the attraction . The Viator app wouldn’t let me contact the tour operator direct - kept showing an error! The cost was double what I ended up paying at the actual venue. I have requested a refund from Viator but they have not been helpful at all. This is a great attraction but no need to pay double with this operator

Pre booking Unnecessary and Overpriced

It was difficult from the United States figuring out which experiences in Rome actually need skip-the-line tickets because Reddit has conflicting anecdotal experience. For this one, the viator voucher requires an extra walk to a nearby tourist office to exchange the voucher for a printed ticket with barcode, and that voucher is good for 7 days, not the timestamp that viator offers the buyer from their app or website. This was very misleading and knowing in advance the flexibility of the Italian ticket would have been better for planning one of my days in Rome. Even with my skip-the-line ticket, waited in line at the actual elevators while others around me were buying tickets on-site in the same line for half of what I paid Viator. Do yourself a favor and just buy on-site. If an afternoon in July wasn’t sold-out, it’s probably rarely necessary to have an advance ticket and pay double the local rate for extra hoops to jump for the same experience. The platform itself was a nice view but at the time of day (4pm in July per the misleading timestamp in the app reservation) it wasn’t a pleasant time to be up there in 100 F temperatures.

Great views over Rome! There was a cafeteria nearby to the lifts on the ground floor which was reasonably priced. We got ourselves a drink and hot snack after the viewing experience.

Very poor communication, employees who do not think a millimeter! Although the counter asked where the meeting point was, and it was clear that the tickets had to be validated, the employee did not communicate this and sent us to the ticket station, there we learned that they were provisional tickets. WhatsApp requests were not answered. When we returned to the office and we asked why she had sent us on, she said she thought we already had tickets. Incredibly incompetent employee.
