I normally don’t get a guide for museums—we only did on this trip because it was our only option to get into the Borghese gallery. I was skeptical, but this was well worth it. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging and effectively navigated us through a museum that can be crowded and overwhelming. It felt like a steep price but was well worth it to get the most out of our visit.
Our guide Elena was a delight! She explained the paintings and scuptures with interesting stories and niche details. Loved the tour!
Our guide went into great depth regarding the sculptures and painting. She was passionate about art!
The tour of the Gallerie Borghese was spectacular. Our guide Dilara was so knowledgeable and passionate, while ensuring the comfort of all participants. We spent 2 hours on this wonderful experience. Highly recommend this tour. Not recommended for wheelchairs or strollers as they have an incredibly tiny round elevator that is only 3.5-4.0 ft in diameter built in 1907.

Hi HollyLynn,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am absolutely thrilled to hear that you had such a spectacular time at the Borghese Gallery and that Dilara made the masterpieces truly come alive with her passion and knowledge. She always goes above and beyond to keep everyone comfortable, and I will be sure to pass along your wonderful compliments to her.
I also really appreciate you mentioning the historic 1907 elevator. That is incredibly helpful advice for future travelers, especially families with strollers or anyone with mobility needs.
Thank you again for recommending our tour, and we would love to welcome you on another art adventure the next time you are in Rome.
The Borgheses Gallery is an amazing museum. My tour guide Marco is not only knowledgeable but passionate about the art here. I would recommend this tour to friends and family.
Outstanding from beginning ! Convenient meeting place and very efficient check in with tour guide. Elle was our tour guide and she was fantastic - she was an expert on all things Borgehse and talented in the way she wove history with the art. She ensured we made the most of our full time in the museum. Definitely recommend this tour.
Fantastic museum collection with an engaging, knowledgeable guide. From the brilliant colors or Titian to the sensual marble carvings by Bernini, the Borghese Gallery has it all. Loved the Caravaggio rebellion against Renaissance conventions.

Art history come to life! We're thrilled that you found the Borghese Gallery to be a fantastic collection with an engaging, knowledgeable guide. We agree, from the brilliant colors of Titian to the sensual marble carvings by Bernini, it has it all!
The Borghese is filled with so much beautiful art that it would have been overwhelming without a knowledgeable guide. Fortunately, we had Rosy as our guide, and she was excellent!

We're so glad you had a wonderful time on your tour! We agree that the Borghese galleries are breathtaking, and we'll be sure to pass on your compliments to our exceptional guide.
Disappointing and frustrating. Guide didn’t show up. Since the gallery can only be entered with timed tickets which the guide would have had, none of the group waiting on him/her could experience the museum. Although Viator did quickly refund our cost of the tour, they did not refund the money that we spent (45 euro) to travel to/from the gallery for the non-event (although we asked them too). Viator should have confirmed the tour with the provider and contacted us if cancelled. Most disappointing was that since it was our last day in Rome, there was no way to reschedule. Lots of wasted time and money.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
We are so sorry for the frustrating experience you had with your Borghese Gallery tour. We understand your disappointment, especially since it was your last day in Rome. There was an error on Viator's end, and the booking was never confirmed. We have already contacted them to issue a full refund for your tour.
Tour operator did show up for the tour. Tour operator claimed that Viator did not communicate with tour operator. Significant time and travel expense wasted.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Hi Kevin, we’re very sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, Viator did not confirm availability with us for your booking, so we were unable to operate the tour and had to cancel. We completely understand your frustration and apologize for the time and travel wasted.
Dimitri was engaging, entertaining and informative. A lot to cover but the 2 hours really did pass quickly. Definitely recommend as a tour for the Borghese Villa.

Thank you, Linczyc! We’re glad Dimitri kept the Borghese Gallery tour engaging and informative. Covering so much in two hours is always a challenge, and it’s wonderful to hear it felt just right. We hope you’ll join us again to explore more of Rome’s treasures!
Very thorough, organized and passionate tour of the galleria. My questions were well answered and my guide was even kind enough to help me find a local cafe afterwards. I had a wonderful time!

Meeting point on Maps shows further away from the actual galleria, but I was still able to find the check in fairly easily. Guide was very knowledgable and thorough in sharing historical information. Glad I booked a guided tour rather than an individual general entry. Museum only allows you to visit for 2 hours, and our guide filled the full time well.
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Thank you for your feedback! It's great to hear that you had a smooth check-in experience and that your guide provided valuable historical insights during your visit. It sounds like the guided tour really enhanced your time at the museum, especially with the time limit in place. Glad you had a great experience!

Starting with the Galleria Borghese which is one of the most important and most beautiful museums in the world. In addition, the guide was extremely well prepared, fluent, technical, historical and artistic knowledge.
