The communication prior to the tour was very detailed and we knew exactly where to go. Our knowledgeable tour guide was so helpful and thoughtful. He offered so much great information in a thoughtful way, with plenty of time to ask questions, take pictures, and just take in the sights. We were in awe and had an amazing experience.

The Colosseum is beautiful! The tour operator was professional, however, did not speak very good English. Even in December and early morning timing, the place was still full and we can imagine how bad it could get in the peak summer months. We were with younger kids and felt a little rushed through the entire tour. Would have appreciated some time to take pictures and admire the displays in the small museum inside the Colosseum.

We were supposed to be able to go into the arena and we didn’t get to. The guide seemed rushed even though we started earlier than booked. We didn’t have time to look at the museum exhibits. But mostly, I am disappointed that the advertised ability to walk where the gladiators walked didn’t happen. I complained and asked for a refund, I was ignored and dismissed without explanation. I expected better.

We had some issues finding the guide but the tour company was great and called and texted pictures to help us find the her. The guide (sorry I don’t remember her name!) was very knowledgeable about the history of the Coliseum. She was able to give us some options for the tour since it was raining hard, it was an awesome sight to see the Coliseum from the vantage point of the gladiators and the emperors since we saw the floor of the coliseum as well as the spectators views.

They cancelled on us the morning of with no notice. Said the tour guide was unavailable but there was a large group of us and they selected some people to start the tour while they told the rest of us there was no guide. Extremely unprofessional.

This tour was fabulous from start to finish. Our guide Paulo lived in Rome and he really was incredible - he was so passionate and knowledgeable and had an answer for every question. Good job our tour was towards the end of the week otherwise we’d have been booking for all the other tours he did at other attractions! He really did bring the colosseum to life with his story telling. A lovely touch was that he took the time to learn everyone’s names through the tour and then addressed everyone individually when he said goodbye at the end. Well organised and great value for money. We would 100% recommend this tour.

Writing to say how amazing our tour guide Paolo Sanna was. He was so knowledgeable about everything ancient Roman history. Would highly recommend anyone ask for him. My son was with me on the tour as the only kid on the tour and Paolo made a conscious effort to include him as much as possible in various reenactments. I truly wish the tour was longer, but will make every effort in the future to request him as a guide. Great experience overall.

Take this tour! Our guide, Rosaria, was wonderful. She got us through the security area very quickly so that we were inside just a few minutes after start time. She was very knowledgeable about Roman history. The Colosseum and the Forum are MUST SEE sites. It would not be a good without a guide.

It was a very effective way to see the Colosseum. we avoided the long general admission line ups and where able to see the floor of the Colosseum as well. The guide was very informative and we found the tour to be one of the best that we have taken. The Roman forum and palace grounds was a pleasant surprise and our guide was very informative and looked after the group needs.

Our tour guide was great. He was very knowledgeable and really a great story teller. He made sure to explain the historical significance of some archaeological remnants that would otherwise be easily overlooked. For such a large amount of area covered, the pacing felt perfect and not rushed. The routes he led us through were great and allowed you to see things from perspectives in an ordering which felt more impactful. Highly recommend and a great use of our limited time in Rome.
