Head down Coral Sea Rd (1.9 mi) just pass Tripoli Rd. you will see a cattle guard gate on the left side, (Gate open on weekends). Please park outside and walk through the left side of gate straight up to the beach a you will see our Surf HNL tents.

What To Expect

Ahead of your start time, make your own way to Ewa Beach near Ko Olina, where you can meet your professional surf instructor (and small group, if option selected).

Get matched with the proper board for your height, and start your lesson in the sand, where you can learn the proper methods for paddling and standing up on your board.

When you’re ready to get out and ride the waves, your instructor helps you with paddling out and finding the best place to sit, and even offers a gentle push to help get you into the waves.

Since the lesson on the sand only takes a few minutes, you have lots of time to spend in the water and practice riding the waves, and you might be surprised by how quickly you pick up this ancient Hawaiian sport.

My dad and I took surf lessons and I’m so glad we did. Although, it was very tiring because the wind/current were very strong. Our instructor was extremely helpful getting us out to catch a wave. We couldn’t have done it without him with how tired we were from paddling against the strong surf. He made sure we caught the best waves and was so encouraging. Highly recommend!

This was a quiet location with wide open waters. Staff was friendly and the coach was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Surf HNL.

Fun surf lessons on Eisenhower Beach

My 16 yr old daughter took a private lesson. This was the 3rd time she's surfed. She said the instructor was good, and the area where they surf is pretty shallow, so she wasn't afraid to fall off the board. The people working there are all friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend!

We had an amazing time learning to surf! The lesson was brief but really helped us learn how to get out there and be successful. It’s an arm workout, but the instructors are really good at helping you out. An hour was the perfect amount of time for us. The beach was very local and private, we were able to leave our bags at their tent and had a carefree time!! Thanks so much!!

I had a great time learning to surf. The team was very friendly. They gave plenty of information and displayed proper techniques. Being the old guy in the group was a bit intimidating ( 50 year old) but my instructor was very patient with me. I was very pleased with my first time surfing.

Oh my goodness! What a great time! Kira was a wonderful instructor. I’ve wanted to learn to surf for 20 years and can’t believe I was able to do it in the first lesson. Such a great experience. My arms were a little tired from paddling but Kira made sure I had ample rest between runs. Recommend strengthening your arms a few weeks before to help.

This was the first time we traveled to Hawaii and using Viator seemed to be the best way to maximize our stay—and we were right. My 13 year old granddaughter had never surfed before—Sophia was her instructor ( and our transporter as well) and she was terrific! She prepared her well and my granddaughter got up on her first day! She totally loved the experience. There were some scheduling glitches but they worked everything out to our satisfaction. Would definitely recommend!!

Surf HNL was amazing! Sam picked us up at out hotel, was super friendly and welcoming, and drove us to a great spot for first time surfers. My daughter and I had a great time! The guides were very friendly and patient and gave us some excellent tips to get us surfing. 10/10!
