These guys are amazing! Super friendly, outgoing, and fun! The lesson was awesome. I wrote at least 10 waves! These guys are very encouraging and supportive in the water. I would highly recommend them. They have been surfing. This reef for a long time and are very knowledgeable. It was a great day and a fun time!

Captain Neil was our instructor as was very personable, friendly and helpful. My 10 year old grandson and I took the lessons and for the first time in our lives actually got to experience surfing! Captain Neil was very encouraging and gave us tips and advice based on what he would observe us doing. He provided a life jacket for my grandson which I was very grateful for since this was only his second day experiencing the ocean and was new at swimming. But we were both super excited that we were able to experience what it was like to be riding a wave on a surfboard.
One thing that I didn’t know and would recommend, is to wear a tight long sleeve shirt. I did not realize because I’ve never experienced it before how much your forearms hurt from sitting on the waxed surfboard. After two hours, they get rubbed a little raw. That’s the only thing that I would have changed if I had it to do over.

I’ve traveled to Waikiki plenty of times in my life and I’ve had surf lessons before but nothing compares to these guys and their killer spot.
The team is super knowledgeable, incredibly friendly, and very safe. I felt completely comfortable and confident throughout the whole lesson and caught so many waves and had so much fun that I signed my cousin up for a lesson a few days later. He had never surfed/skated/snowboarded before so he was starting from scratch but within 30 minutes he was not just catching waves but standing up on them and smiling ear to ear. Absolute highlight of the trip!!
The photos and videos are exceptional and I will definitely be printing a few of them out to hang up back home. I highly recommend asking about that package if you want some mementos from the experience.
I can’t say enough great things about these guys. Their number one priority is to make sure you have a great time, and it shows. There are tons of instructors all over the island to choose from so make it easy on yourself and go with these guys because they are the best. I will absolutely return here when I come back to Oahu.

Some of the best instructors we have encountered. Shane and Neil are patient and knowledgeable. they love to surf and it shows in their instructing. I am so glad they shared their knowledge with us.

My daughter Asjha wanted to surf in Hawaii, she had surfing lesson long time ago and wanted to get back into it so I booked one. I've read the reviews in viator, and I picked this one. The communication where to meet with Shane was good but I didn't realize it was a parking lot, so I was a little confused, but people seemed to know Shane very well and helped us out.
The surfing lesson went well, and we are very happy with my daughter. My husband, and I felt at ease watching them and both instructors were right there with both girls, watching and making sure they were both safe. My daughter definitely had a great time and the video and pictures taken by the instructors are much appreciated. My husband and I recommend both instructors for their professionalism and making sure their students are safe. I will definitely book again if we are back in Oahu.

So much fun but A LOT of work so be prepared for a full workout! The instructors were very helpful and friendly. If you want to learn how to surf and stand up on the board, this is the pick for you!

Shane and Captain Neil were incredible teachers and made sure we each got up for several waves. They were so helpful and motivating. Captain Neil got great footage through the tour and even caught a turtle popping up! 10/10 would do this again!

Shane gave our 18 year old granddaughter a private surfboard lesson. She said he was an excellent teacher, and very encouraging. “Ella” was able to stand on her surfboard 10 or 15 times during her 2 hour lesson.

Shane is an amazing surf instructor with a genuine passion for teaching. From the moment we met on the beach, his energy and love for surfing were contagious. With over 40 years of experience, his coaching is on another level, you can really tell he lives and breathes the sport.
Out in the water, he stayed right next to me on his board, giving real-time feedback, helping to steady mine, and guiding me with quick adjustments that instantly boosted my balance, confidence, and technique.
Thanks to Shane, I stood up and rode a wave on my first try!! Something I didn’t think was possible. He was cheering me on the whole way and made the experience fun, empowering, and way beyond anything I expected.
If you’re thinking of trying surfing in Hawaii, do yourself a favor and book with Shane. You won’t regret it!

Shane and Neil are amazing instructors! If you feel like your not a strong swimmer no worries because Shane is right next to you the whole time and will help in anyway you need it, he will even pull you on your board if you can’t paddle yourself. My whole family took lessons including my youngest who is eight. My son and I had the lessons first and after taking them I felt 100% confident that my eight year old would be safe for she is not a strong swimmer. If you are looking for surf lessons don’t hesitate to book with Shane and Neil.
