Wow what a walking tour this turned out to be! Dom knew everything you could ever want to know about the area, pointing out historical artefacts that would otherwise go unnoticed. He was amusing, attentive, inspiring and fun. We were so very lucky to have him to ourself as no one else had booked in- and our tour lasted longer- he didn’t rush us at all. Met some very interesting characters too. Such an unusual trip, a perfect combination of history and real life in Brooklyn. Thanks Dom!

A lovely walk through artsy quarters

If there’s a way to see the artsy side of Brooklyn, it’s to take a walking tour with our guide Dom. He walked us through the Dumbo area, acquainting us with artisans, painters, weavers, who we would never have interacted with , up close and personal, otherwise; learning about their craft. Dom gave us an informative lowdown on the industrial past of Brooklyn and took us to the points that offered the most beautiful sightings of the Brooklyn bridge and the NYC skyline. Cherry on the cake we’re the creamy icecream and warm chocolate drink, on the house:)

It was a great personalized tour. I was the only person. Dom know so much about Brooklyn, its history, have a great relationship with small bussiness which we visited. I learned a lot of facts about products that began manufacturing in Brooklyn. In the end we went to a great place for ice cream and i got a present that i will display in my office!! Thank you Dom!

He not only shared interesting historical facts (supplemented by photos) but also provided a unique opportunity to see the work of and meet artists, creators and small business owners making it in Brooklyn. Great way to get to know Dumbo and learn about both its history and some of the interesting artisans there now. Dom was an excellent tour guide who is passionate about Brooklyn, knowledgable about the local history and willing to personalize the tour. Worthwhile for local residents and tourists from out of town.

Brooklyn and DUMBO Brought to Life in 3 Short Hours

Our tour was led by Dom, who is the creator and guide for this experience. He is a lifelong New Yorker and, more specifically, Brooklynite, who has a deep knowledge of the city and how it evolved, which he demonstrated amply as we made our way around DUMBO. His ability to convey the time and place in terms of history alongside contemporary happenings in this corner of Brooklyn helped generate a similar sensation to us. Along with the samplings included, this was a well rounded experience. I would recommend his tour to pretty much everyone but, honestly - this is a shout-out to those who live in NYC. Take this tour - you have the benefit of one of your "neighbors" telling you about the city and it gives you a deeper appreciation for the vast history your city has already created in a few very short centuries. Consider it a one-day vacation at home and a way to reconnect with where you live. And you can finish it off at Juliana's Pizza... one of Dom's recommendations.
