Avoid this tour. Terrible organization upon arrival to pickup. Over 100 people stacked up on the curb with no clear point of contact. Booked a “van” tour but a massive coach bus showed up 30 mins late. Tour guide didn’t even find me, I happened to notice my name on the sign in sheet while walking by. Families were separated on the bus because nobody took charge of metering seats. Once we finally got going we noticed it was fairly warm and asked for AC to be turned on. They said it was at max. At best it was blowing warm air. The stops were as advertised but definitely nothing I’d want to do again. The rides between stops was absolutely miserable. It was beyond hot, people were visibly sweating through their clothes, my kid and I resorted to using drinking water to wet our hair and using our hats as fans. Tour guide continually made non-sensical excuses to explain the heat when it was obvious that the AC was broken. Spoke to several fellow tourists after we got off the tour at the first available exit and we all agreed it was absolute misery. Our tour guide was Stelina. Nice woman but lacking in leadership skills on a bus full of people. Once things unraveled she was urging our driver in Spanish to expedite the journey but there was nothing she could do with Brooklyn traffic.
Lone bright spot was our driver Nelly. What a driver!!! She was ripping that huge bus through tiny gaps in traffic and parked in tight spots like a true professional.
In the best of circumstances this would have been a mediocre tour, in this scenario it was the absolute lowlight of my NYC trip.

It’s everything about the name. Understand how is the real NYC life outside of Manhattan. Francisco took the time to explain everything, numbers, reality, zones and much more. It’s the perfect trip to understand realities and true life at the big apple.

• Our ship was late getting in. They waited a few extra minutes to give us time to get there. This was very much appreciated!
• The bus needed AC or more ventilation.
• It would have been helpful if the guide confirmed the tour prior to departing just to make sure we were all on the right bus.
• Excellent driver.
• Interesting overview and areas, but could probably do with fewer 15-minute stops (e.g., Joker’s stairs and Men-In-Black water towers).
• Guide could fill some dead air with more significant/historic events of the various areas and some of the famous folks who grew up in the boroughs/areas.
• Would be nice if the lunch break was near some quintessential NYC food providers - e.g., pizza by the slice and deli.
• Would be nice if the bus returned to the starting point to let folks off at the end of the tour.
The tour has a lot of potential and there’s some quick/easy things they can do to make it better.

We have done many tours over the years in many countries. Everyone of those tours returned you to either to the starting point or close to it. Not this one. You could either get dropped off on the far side of the Brooklyn Bridge or if you didn’t want that it terminated in Chinatown some 1 and a quarter hours walk back to the starting point of Times Square. This was stated in the tour blurb however you do not really look at the starting and finishing points when you are booking, especially if you don’t know the area in a foreign country. The tour itself was OK however I would not recommend it unless you enjoy walking back to the starting point or taking the subway.

We had booked a more complete tour, but it was cancelled. This was as close as we could get. Had most everything, but not Coney Island.
Too much time on murals, and not enough time at Citi Field/US Tennis.

The guide and driver were great. We really enjoyed their insights into the various neighborhoods through which we went. We had never been to Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, and appreciated the differences between the boroughs, especially the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. I checked with Viator if this tour was in English. The operator said to me "we have made sure that this tour is in English" I have the WhatsApp message.
They assured me this tour was in english. The evening before my tour, I received an email saying the tour is in Spanish only.
Not only did Viator give me incorrect information. Ruining my plans (I was only in NY for 3 days and wanted this tour specifically to visit a mural) They still (four days later) have NOT given me a refund!
Remember, they informed me of their mistake the evening before I was due to go on the tour! It was too late to make alternative plans.
They are blaming the tour operator when it was Viator themselves who told me this tour was in English. Not the operator.
I am currently fighting to get my money back. On the day of the tour I took the subway there myself and had to make my own version of the tour by myself with no guide of course.
I will never use Viator again. They ruined one day of my holiday I had planned specifically and to make matters worse I'm now having to fight to get my refund.
I would recommend you use someone else. I'm planning to go to Los Angeles soon. I would not be using Viator.
