When the weather is fair, there’s no better way to see the sites of New York City’s Central Park than from the comfort of a horse-drawn carriage.
Easily meet your driver, and horse, in Central Park. If you like you can give your horse a little treat (carrots provided). Then you’ll be on your way.
Your driver will give you loads of information about the places you pass by, including insider information that you wouldn’t get in a guidebook.
Some of the places you’ll pass by are the Wollman Rink, Balto Statue, Loeb Boathouse, Cherry Hill, and much more. There will be plenty of photo stops along the way.
Also, if it’s a tad chilly, you can use blankets provided in your carriage.

The carriage ride lacked enthusiasm by our driver. The driver was nice enough, but he obviously was going thru the script and was on his phone more than engaging with us-- other than at the designated stops.
The Park is beautiful and it would have been more enjoyable with an enthusiastic/engaging driver. If he's bored with the job, he should move on.
We enjoyed seeing Central Park by horse-drawn carriage, especially just after the rain. The park was beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing, and our driver did communicate with us when the weather caused him to run a little late, which we appreciated.
That said, there were a few disappointments. After arriving at the pickup area, we discovered that several nearly identical carriage tours nearby were significantly less expensive than the one we booked through Viator—approximately $60–80 less for what appeared to be the same experience. I would recommend comparing prices before booking.
The driver pointed out a few landmarks, but the narration was fairly minimal and lacked the engaging personality we had hoped for. In addition, our ride ended about 10 minutes earlier than the scheduled time, so we didn’t receive the full experience we had paid for.
Overall, the carriage ride itself is a lovely way to experience Central Park, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend booking this particular tour through Viator due to the higher price and average overall experience.
Lovely ride around Central Park. Our driver was very knowledgeable and pointed out all the landmarks.
Great ride and the driver was very informative. This made the experience even more exciting. I would do it again on my next trip to NYC.
Great way to see the perimeter of Central Park in a comfortable setting. Our guide was friendly and so was our horse! Included a couple of stops for photo ops and some carrots to feed at the end. Did not take the full allotted time. It is a little pricey for what we actually got for just 2 people. Would be more worthwhile if you have group of 4.
Matt was great. Very informative. Fun feeding Grace carrots. Matt made a few stops and took photos of us.
We didn’t get to do this trip as it was canceled due to the extreme hot weather however the provider was great and communicated with us and offered a few alternatives but we had other plans
The ride itself was lovely but the driver was recently from Ukraine and spoke very little English. He tried his best and through mime and some key words we realised what the main sights were. It was very hard to find the starting point from the directions provided.
Matt, our driver, texted with us so we knew where to meet him. We did the longer ride so there was time to stop at several places and take pictures. Got to feed our horse Strawberry some carrots. Learned she was a former thoroughbred racing horse. Matt was knowledgeable about the park and its history. We enjoyed the experience and it's a great way to see the park.
Unfortunately this was cancelled due to heat restrictions. Please provide me with the date I can expect the refund.
The excursion was cancelled by the provider without informing me. We travelled to the pick up location and found out that the event had been cancelled. The ride was scheduled for 1:00 pm which was plenty of time to inform us on the cancellation.
Our Driver was very a very nice Turkish man, he told us lots of things about the park and answered questions that my mother asked. He definitely didn’t have to do that but it was very sweet of him! The horse Gracie was a beautiful mare, we got to feed her carrots and pet her! The pictures our driver took came out nice and will last a lifetime!
A very relaxing ride around central park with great photo ops! Grace was such a beautiful, well mannered princess (the horse)
Amazing. Knowledgeable driver. Ahmet was very personable and friendly. I highly recommend this tour, well worth the money
We had booked a carriage tour of Central Park for May 16 at 10am. But could not take the tour because I got sick. Have been trying to contact aviator for a refund, but got no response. I know this is a reputable company, but their lack of response to customers concerns is frustrating & extremely disappointing.
Matt was extremely knowledgeable! Love the ride and how beautiful the park is! Couldn't ask for better!
We had a perfect carriage ride with fun stops and interesting information about various parts of Central Park.
Matt was friendly and would suggest great photo op areas. Even helped with taking photos for us. Great communication day of.
Very informational. I didn’t realize how many movies / shows were done there in the park. The park is very well used. Saw lots of people walking, riding bikes, enjoying park areas, and areas designated for dogs. Park is very well maintained.
The company waited until the day of my scheduled experience to inform me they were overbooked and requested that I either reschedule or cancel. This was especially frustrating, as I had originally booked nearly two months in advance for a nighttime (11:30 PM) carriage ride for my wife’s birthday.
Instead, I was asked to move the reservation to 4:40 PM—an entirely different experience with significantly less ambiance. Given the last-minute notice, I had little choice but to accept the change or risk losing the experience altogether.
Overall, this caused a major inconvenience, and there were very limited options offered to make the situation right. Given the circumstances, I believe a refund or some form of compensation is warranted and would appreciate your consideration in resolving this matter.
Paid for 55 minutes actually spent on the carriage 35 mins , which most of was spent going around Central Park not what I wanted . Bucket list failed miserably .

Most of the park was closed that Sunday due to a race. We informed you before you still wanted to take your ride because you didn’t want to change to another time
Excellent service great to see the park beautiful scenery would recommend to my friends and family members
Was supposed to go on my tour on the 17th when I got to New York but somehow it got booked for the 14th I tried to cancel and rebook but they never got back to me

If you book it wrong day and figure it out and try to cancel last minute Your driver will be waiting for you and he/she will be paid Common sense. Nobody waits for free. Own your mistake
Relaxing and informative!! We circled the park at a slow pace with several photo moment breaks. It was a highlight of the day!
Oscar was a great tour guide. He stopped and took photos when we wanted him to. It was chilly this day and he had a blanket for us.
It was great the driver was informative and funny. The only thing is I wish it explored more of the park and there were more photo stops but I understand the restrictions.
This was a very iconic experience. There was nothing wrong with the Horse, Driver, or carriage, it was just so very expensive.
No I will not ever book this again he was rude and reprimand me like I was his child. I hate it true
