Charlie was an amazing host and guide! He was very knowledgeable about both the art and the MET’s history and we learned a lot about how the MET collection came to be. He was also very entertaining and gave us interesting tidbits about artists and also strategies for understanding the art and art movements.

Fantastic Tour of the Met

Kristine_C, Mar 2026
Our tour was great and our guide Robin was truly exceptional -one of the best museum guides I’ve ever experienced. Her background as an academic and former museum curator was immediately evident in the depth and clarity of her storytelling, but what made the tour unforgettable was how engaging and accessible she made everything. She didn’t just point out artwork- she brought it to life. Robin seamlessly wove together the history of each piece, its provenance, who donated it, and the broader cultural and historical context. She connected artists to their contemporaries, explained how styles evolved across periods, and made insightful comparisons that helped us actually see the differences between movements. As we moved through the American, European,Medieval, Renaissance, and Egyptian collections, she struck the perfect balance between highlighting the “must-see” masterpieces and introducing us to lesser-known works that were just as fascinating. She also gave us a global perspective, pointing out where other major works by the same artists are housed around the world, which added a whole new dimension to the experience. On top of that, her knowledge of the history of the Met itself added another rich layer to the tour. We had a fantastic tour! Robin has a rare gift!! she makes complex art history feel intuitive, memorable, and genuinely exciting. If you have the chance to tour the Met with her, don’t hesitate. It will completely transform how you experience the museum.

We really enjoyed this tour. It was our first time at The Met and Mark was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the art.

Amazing!

Janie_H, Mar 2026
Our guide Mark was amazing. He was so knowledgeable but also had fantastic energy and enthusiasm. There is no way to see everything in the Met and he really helped us see the top things on our list. We definitely recommend.

We felt like it saw it all ❤️

Dawn_D, Mar 2026
Charlie was knowledgeable and energetic guide that gave us a wonderful fast paced visit to so many galleries!!! I feel like we saw it all! Bring your walking 👞 shoes!!

We LOVED our tour. We went at the 10 AM time slot so we got to see a lot of things before it opened to the public. Mark was so thorough and fun. It was definitely a highlight of our trip. The next day we went to the MoMa and we felt like it just completely paled in comparison to the experience we had with Mark. 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone!

Great tour

Karin_H, Feb 2026
Charles is exceedingly knowledgeable and provided an engaging learning experience. The Met is an extraordinary museum.

We enjoyed learning about the art.

Joanne_V, Feb 2026
Kevin L. Is very knowledgeable and helps you understand the art in a way that you wouldn’t by just reading the signs on each exhibit.

Met Tour with Katherine H

John_P, Feb 2026
Our 2.5 hour tour of the Met was fantastic - Katherine H at Babylon Tours was knowledgeable, friendly and open-minded. As art and history amateurs the scale and size of the Met can almost be intimidating, but the tour path Katherine chose really helped us to digest the basics (and beauty!) of the progression of art and culture over the last few thousand years. Katherine was very warm and catered the tour to our level of knowledge, which we were grateful for. She was also incredibly thorough and taught us so many things in just a few hours. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend taking a tour with Katherine.

Cherie knows her stuff

neil_b, Feb 2026
We had an amazing tour of the met, I've been there many times before but Cherie took us to places that I've never seen before with such enthusiasm and good humor which both paled into insignificance compared to her knowledge of the subjects and objects that she introduced to us

Rob C was an exceptional guide. He was very knowledgeable and engaging. My mother and i have been to a lot of art museums together and this was one of the best guides we have ever had anywhere in the world. The tour was well paced and allowed us to see the hilights of what would otherwise be an overwhelming museum. Highly recommend this tour and you will be lucky to have Rob as a guide.

Well planned, filled with interesting details and artistic analysis of a number of important pieces. Quite enjoyable and educational-even if you have frequented the museum. The tour also allows for free exploration.

Great intro to the Met

Cameron_P, Jan 2026
Our tour guide Rob was awesome. He made sure we were able to see all eras displayed starting with Egyptian and ending with modern art. He was very knowledgeable and had a lot of history to share about the museum and the pieces on display.

Mark knows The Met

Lindsay_C, Jan 2026
We've spent time in The Met before without a guide and looking back it feels like a poor use of time. Having Mark as a guide for our family was a treat and we were very happy with our experience. He knew facts about the museum you normally wouldn't hear and we appreciated that he is a native New Yorker so he could really explain the environment of the museum. Mark has an extensive knowledge of art history and he was very engaging with our 9 and 11 year old. With only 2.5 hours we couldn't cover the entire museum so we're eager to book Mark again when we visit to continue more of the museum.

its a highlight of the main artworks with detail explanation, as the museum is quite large. Very much enjoyed the learning experience.

Great way to start the day at the MET

Ronald_M, Dec 2025
Charles did a great job (funny, informative, and friendly). The tour highlights parts and pieces of the MET. It is ideal to do first and then roam around the MET the rest of the day. It is a day long commitment if you want to experience everything that the MET has to offer.

The Met with gracious guide and style

Macye_M, Dec 2025
Great guide with excellent knowledge of the area and museum exhibits. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Cherie

Good times

KRISTEN_T, Dec 2025
The tour was a little haphazard. Having been to the Met many times, I was hopeful this tour might hit the major highlights, but it was all over the place. Definitely more centred around our tour guides favourite items, but still very enjoyable and a good intro to the museum.

Great Gifed Met Tour

Dee_W, Dec 2025
Michael was an excellent guide. He gave us a history of the Met before we started which was very good information. His knowledge and perspective as he let us through the exhibits was incredible and he provided a perspective of the art and how we could view it in its entirety. I’m happy with our experience and hope Michael continues to offer his guiding expertise.

Enjoyed the small tour group experience. Right length of time and right amount of information. Tour guide was personable.

Everything and More

MaryKay_K, Dec 2025
We loved this tour. Our guide was unbelievably knowledgeable about the full range of art and eras, giving each of us a rich experience of this amazing museum. As we walked around the museum we saw many other tour groups and we were so happy we were in such a small group of five people. We could hear everything our guide was explaining to us and were able to ask questions as we went. People in larger groups might as well have been in their own. We highly recommend this company and particularly our guide, Michael. We are looking forward to the next time!

Eat art tour ever

Informative with interesting unusual unknown information.. Guide is knowledgeable about subject matter .. and made the tour fun..

Wonderful tour by Matt

Gabriel_V, Nov 2025
This was a fantastic introduction to The Met by Matt! It was a two and half hour tour. Matt gave great background and showed us some very unique items we never would have known to look at or appreciate. We're very flexible people and that is really the only way to approach this tour. Then grab lunch and come back to The Met and see those special pieces at your own pace. Unfortunately we had to leave straight for the airport.

AnnieSophia_A, Oct 2025
It was a really nice experience with Michael showing us around. We were taken through all areas in the time window, which is not easy to do given the size of the museum. We also had special pieces pointed out through the tour. The only thing we felt would've made the tour a better value given it is quite expensive, is if our guide was able to explain the artists/sculptors/art pieces with a greater depth of knowledge. That being said, covering such a range is no easy task and we appreciated that we were able to move through the crowded museum efficiently and came away with a good understanding of the layout to return as well as key pieces sticking in our minds. Thank you Michael!

The Metropolitan Museum

Trina_C, Oct 2025
The tour was very good. Knowledgeable and very informative. The Metropolitan Museum is a must see and having a guide to hit the highlights is a must.

Good Overview

Fredric_d, Oct 2025
This was a good overview. The Met is HUGE so detail orientation isn’t feasible. Our guide was very knowledgeable.
